hi all ^_^ how many of you have your Mars and Venus in signs that has incompatible elements? For example, I have Mars in Taurus and Venus in Aries, which are kinda different.
But in synastry, it can cause a small trouble: we can't really find a person that has his/her Mars or Venus compatible with both of your Mars and Venus at the same time (unless your Mars and Venus are close to each other, so it can form the same aspect with both, although it's still considered out of sign). For example, if a person has his/her Venus in Gemini, it is compatible with my Venus but not with my Mars.

For me, I would prefer someone who has his Mars compatible with my Mars and his Venus compatible with my Venus, coz even if it isn't complementing like the opposite, at least we are similar.. I'd prefer someone with similar tastes and a compatible way of working together.
For example, my bf has Mars in Virgo and Venus in Libra, and I like the way he work things out and also his tastes (although sometimes a bit different from mine).

So if you have your Mars and Venus in incompatible signs, what would you prefer? Someone with his/her Mars compatible with your Mars and his/her Venus compatible with your Venus, or someone with his/her Mars compatible with your Venus and his/her Venus compatible with your Mars? ^_^

btw, for me, opposed signs are compatible, as even if they are different (opposed traits), they are complement.. After all, they have compatible elements.. But I think that they are only incompatible when there's a lack of balance.. For example, Aries can admire Libra's charm, calmness, diplomacy, sweetness and manners, while Libra can admire Aries' courage, determination, strength and honesty. But Aries might not stand it when Libra is being too smooth, indecisive and less active, while Libra might not stand it when Aries is being too aggressive, straightforward and lack of calmness. XP

My Venus is in Aquarius and Mars is in Pisces so they don't make a positive aspect in my chart. So what? I'm glad there's no negative aspect! Still, these two cause frictions.. I like soft and sensitive men but my Venus isn't as gentle as my Mars and can be very desruptive and changeable. And that's when I wish my Venus was in water sign rather than air.

As for synastry, of course I want man's Mars to conjunct my Venus! But if it's not there, then I will be happy if at least his Venus is in the same sign as mine. From experience men with their Venus in Aqua are not only attracted to me, they also like what I like, we have similar tastes. Nice!

Strangely enough, the 'classic' venus-mars cross aspects in synastry never did it for me.

On the other hand however, it's unbelievable how much I react to men who have their venus conjunct my venus in capricorn. And/or their mars in gemini opposite my mars in sagittarius. The conjunction i dont react to , only the opposition. Even my closest female friends have all mars in gemini. So to answer your question, I would always chose a venus conjunction and a mars opposition over a venus/mars connection in synastry.

I recently read an article on this in Astrology Magazine ( uk Publication), the writer whose name I forget utterly maintains that in men venus is what they look for in a woman, and their mars is how they see themselves in a relationship, for a woman her Venus represents how she sees herself in a relationship and mars is her ideal man. There other factors, such as a male planet can be used as a subsitute for a mars in a man charts..so in my case ( i have mars in leo and venus in scorpio)I'm looking for a Leo Mars ( or fire sign)Leo in either sun/saturn or sometimes even Jupiter will work ( in my case it does as this has occured in my love life, both the saturn and the jupiter), for the man to find me attractive he have to have a venus in a water sign or a possibly libra as I have a libra moon. It was avery interesting article.

Thank you for all your replies! ^_^

Vintry, actually I can relate a bit to what you said, as I like men who are sensible and stable, yet my Venus in Aries is a source of instability and chaos lol.. XP
Sometimes, I wonder how would it be if a guy has his Mars conjunct my Venus.. It might be passionate.. ^.^ but maybe in the long run it can be annoying (as my Taurus Mars is a slowpoke in action lol).. XP

annaf, how does the Mars opposition work for you?
I have a friend (guy) that has Libra Mars and Aries Venus (conjunct mine), and I think that we are kinda compatible about working together.. But I find it hard to be with another friend of mine who has Libra Mars and Scorpio Venus (we have opposed Mars/Venus, with her Mars opposed to my Venus by 0º!).. T_T

Juno, I think that since Mars is about action and masculinity, we relate it to our ideal men image, while Venus is about beauty and femininity, so that we relate it to our ideal women image. So if you're a man, you would be more your Mars, while your Venus can tell you what kind of woman you'd like; while if you're a woman, you would be more your Venus, while your Mars can tell you what kind of man you'd like (but it depends on the rest of the birth chart). ^_^
Curiously, there were two people that liked me who has Aries Venus/Moon and Libra Venus/Aries Moon..

I have Mars in Aquarius, and Venus in Capricorn.

Mars in Capricorn doesn't do anything for me. In fact not even Mars in Earth sign....

I think I am looking for a man represented by my Mars. I had Mars in opposition to a guy's venus....

So I'd go for aspects to my Mars.

So how would you describe the relationship between:
she: mars, venus in taurus
and him: mars, venus in virgo?

sry haven't had the chance to read the question post but my answer to the topic would be, i'd be venus...the pleasant one because i have been mars several times and it seems that i'm physically attracted to the sun or venus person like crazy and the feeling isn't mutual...unless there's strong mars attraction in both charts i'd rather be venus -easy going.

I have Mars in Scorpio and Venus in Sagittarius.
I would like to have Venus in Libra, and Mars in Capricorn, Leo, or Sagittarius.

geminizz, with all those planets in earth signs, this couple should be quite compatible ( but it also depends on the rest of the chart)! ^_^ Even if the planets might not form any aspect by degrees, they are still in trine signs, so their action, passion, ways of working are quite compatible (having compatible Mars), and their loving nature, tastes and values are also very similar (having compatible Venus). ^_^ And each other's Mars can feel attracted to each other's Venus as well..

I have Venus in Capricorn (the only main-planet in an earth sign) and Mars in Sagittarius (along with Sun, Mercury, Node, Neptune and ASC).

So, you would think I`d fall for the fire-signs, especially Sagittarius, since mars is supposedly my ideal mate, and this one is in Sagittarius, but nope. Never did.
Actually, if I look back on all of my crushes, I find that they all had their Venus in Taurus, Scorpio or Pisces.
Often their Moon was also in Taurus or Scorpio.
The Mars-sign was not as fixed as the Venus-sign, but I do seem to have a preference for Mars in Pisces, Capricorn or (again) scorpio.
In friendships it often falls into Gemini.
And if the Moon isn`t in Taurus or Scorpio, then it often falls into Aries (at least this fits the tradition; since a fire-moon would understand my fire-sun).
But despite all of this Pluto-energy, I also seem to need some Uranus / Aquarius in the other ones chart, preferably Uranus in aspect to Sun or Moon, or an Aquarius-ascendant.
Well, all of this is not too surprising. My Venus is square Pluto and I have an Aquarius-Moon. Also, my Mum is a super-scorpio and my Dad is a super-aquarius. And those two signs are just so predominant in our familie`s. It`s like both sides of the families are divided into people with predominant Scorpio or Aquarius.
So maybe in my case it`s just a family-tradition, but still, just give me a man whose planets fit my natal Venus, and I`ll feel very much attracted.
And an Aries-moon would satisfy my Mars and Sun-needs, too. Interestingly the other Fire-signs doesn`t do it to me. No Leos, no Sagittarians; I`ve had some Sagittarians trying to chase me, but maybe it`s nasty to say something like this, I was so bored with them. LOL
But then again, those Saggie`s didn`t have anything to offer for my Earth-Venus-needs.

I'd prefer the venus mars aspects. More attraction and with good sun-moon/moon-moon/or sun-sun aspects. venus-venus aspects are also good but it think sun/moon aspects works better, or sun-sun.

I have venus in sag and mars in cancer. And the ones i fall for or the ones who fall for me usually have Mars in Aries. (Aries in my fifth) Or Sun in Cancer/Gemini or venus in taurus/gemini.

Sun in Scorpio
Moon in Taurus
Asc in Sagittarius

HI

I have my mars and venus both in Leo.
my bf has his venus in virgo and mars in sag( cancer sun with aqua moon).
im a virgo sun and by that perspective,my ideal mate would be a sag/leo or aries?

Hmm but the only one i really have fall completely is my bf , who only has his mars compatible with my venus/mars.
He was though, his venus in virgo, which is my sun sign.

So ithink it relates a little bit with ehat Juno said

But of course it isnt just this little aspects who counts

I've never experienced anyone's venus or mars conjunct my mars. Maybe because I'm not drawn to aries romantically. I have experienced the opposition quite often though. My bf's virgo mars opposes my aries mars and his libra venus does the same. I do LOVE how his pisces moon conjuncts my mars, I see the effects of this clearly.

As for conjunctions to my gemini venus....HOTT. It can be anything from someone's sun, merc, mars,to venus. I always find something hella attractive about the person.

My Venus and Mars are trine. Romantically I feel much closer to people who have either the trine, sextile or conjunction in their chart.. preferably in earth or fire.

I've had pretty much every Venus/Mars aspect in synastry so far.. The conjunction - (his Mars my Venus) - was attractive, but Mars is too rough and needs miles of discipline. My Venus got a bit tired of picking up the pieces after Mars randomly destroyed something.

The sextile was nice - (my Mars his Venus).. With the opposition - I felt *nothing* and still feel *nothing* lol (it was my Mars opposed his Venus)..
His Mars square my Venus - again *nothing*..
My Mars square his Venus - This is my ex, but sexual attraction isn't something that defined the relationship.

I cant think of anyone else of the top of my head.. but I’m pretty sure I had the trine at one point.

thank you very much comica23 for your input
I had the sinastry on astro.com and I have discovered that we have mars conjunct venus. Unfortunately there is no timebirth for him so I can't establish in wich sign and house is posted this conjunction.
