what are some aspects and positions for humor in the chart?

I'm dating someone with a Capricorn Ascendant. I'd think I'd have to disagree.

I think Comica could be on to something. I think some strong Air in the chart could give a person a quick wit.

Mercury-uranus aspects, I agree. Then jupiter and moon perhaps should be looked at.

Lots of Jupiter aspects for sure. I noticed people with strong positively aspected Jupiter in their chart laugh a lot and have a sense of humour, they're just happy, carefree people. So for me the aspects that render a sense of humour are: moon/jup (thinking) and merc/jup (speech). I think that elements don't matter that much as all 12 signs express their humour differently, in their own style.

just commenting some of your comments ..)

Fire mercuries - agree because they talk before they think. Sometimes very funny! childish and playful in speech they can make you lough.

Air mercury - disagree because people with such mercury are refined and eloquent. And even when they're not great speakers they always think about how they say things so they don't get misinterpreted. Although their verbal flexibility can make them good at saying jokes and telling funny stories.

I still think that elements don't matter, both airy and fiery mercuries can be funny!

Mercury/uranus aspect is more about intelligence and originality than sense of humour but if there are other supporting aspects in the chart, then it is a great aspect to make someone funny I guess..

Yes, air mercury think about what they say...which is why they have a sense of humor....they make people laugh. and not at them. (unless they want to)

Air mercury process information very fast, esp Gemini, so i would say tht's conducive to having a quick wit.

I think fire mercury is also an effective position for sense of humor.

I definitely think it has nothing to do with signs, at all.

It's all about aspects.

Sun/Moon/Mercury/AC..even Venus (how others relate to you as well as you to others) to Jupiter, possibly Uranus (depending on the person's sense of humor)

Can add in some house placements, (I.E Social houses, like planets in the 1st, especially those aspecting the AC), planets in the 3rd (how we communicate), planets in the 5th (where we are entertained and do entertaining), the 7th (how we "experience"/relate to others)
------------------
Sagittarius AC, Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Leo

I think it depends on how someones chart relates to ours.

Like my Leo friend has Virgo Mercury & asc aspecting my Virgo Moon...and she is FUNNY! in a vry cruel way tho.

My libra friend on the other hand, has Sag ASC, sitting on my Jupiter & Uranus - and she makes me laugh SO HARD...omg, it's more goofy compared to the sharp wit of Virgo, but I adore it
