If any of you don't mind, and it would help a lot to have some *real* examples...could you post your chart, how many children you actually have (those actually born from eldest to youngest), even those adopted if you'd like...and their Sun,Moon, and AC...with the sign their rulers are in.

For example...if you have only 1 child...

(Post chart)

Child 1- Sun + Ruler of sun's sign placement, Moon+ Ruler of moon's sign placement , AC + AC ruler's sign placement

My theory isn't really *mine*, I'm just elaborating on something I heard about your child's sex being that of the gender represented by the sign of the ruler of the 5th/7th/9th etc.

My 5.th house starts in Aquarius and ends in Pisces.

I have Jupiter in Aquarius making a square to my moon and my mercury. (Conjunct in Scorpio)

My 5th house is 15 degrees Aquarius. I have no 5th house placements.

I do have:
2nd house Uranus
Sun conjunct Uranus
Venus conjunct Uranus
Mercury conjunct Uranus
Jupiter square Uranus
Uranus trine Midheaven
Saturn sextile Uranus

My daughter's sun is Aqua - at 15 degrees in the 8th house.
Uranus is in Aquarius in her chart at 5 degrees at the end of house 7

Her moon is 22 degrees Sagittarius in the 6th house.
Jupiter is 7 degrees in Aquarius in the 7th house.

Her Asc. is 16 degrees Cancer. See above for moon placement.

Her 5th house is 4 degrees Scorpio.

She has no planets in Scorpio. However, she does have these pluto aspects.

Pluto in the Fifth House
Pluto in Sagittarius
Saturn Trine Pluto
Pluto Trine Midheaven
Venus Sextile Pluto
Mars Sextile Pluto
Jupiter Sextile Pluto
Uranus Sextile Pluto

Her mars is in Libra with these 7th house placements:

venus
jupiter
uranus
neptune
mercury

As for my parents:
Mom is a Taurus
Dad is an Aries

I'm a mix of their opposites. All of my Libra is 1st house and all of my Scorpio is 2nd house... except for my sun, which is 1/2.

My interest was piqued by this theory. What I have understood this to mean is that the sex of the child is the same as the 'gender' of the ruling planet of the 5th/7th/9th house. If so, I have a few doubts:

If I am not mistaken, only Taurus, Cancer and Libra have 'feminine' rulers. The rest of the signs are ruled by the 'masculine' planets. This is so skewed, that according to this classification it is 3 times more likely to have a male child.

So I was wondering, if, for the purpose of determining the sex of the child, we need to take Mercury and Neptune as 'feminine' too. That would make Gemini, Virgo and Pisces contribute to the female population a bit.

No... The sex is determined by the sign of the ruling planet of the 5th house/7th/9th etc. is in...

For example: My 5th house is Taurus. My Venus is in Scorpio. Maybe my first child will be a girl.

If your 5th house is Aries, and your Mars is in Libra...maybe you'll have a boy.

Lady Neptune - 5th cusp in Aries, Mars in Pisces ...your first is a girl

foolsgold- 5th in Aquarius, Uranus in Libra....you have a son

1scorp- 5th house in Aquarius, Uranus in Scorpio...you have a girl

taurus/gemini cusp- 5th house in Scorpio, Pluto in Libra...you have a son

So far, I'd give that theory another notch for accuracy. My Mother has her 5th house in the same degree as my Sun... Her 5th is in Scorpio, her Pluto is in Virgo. Her 7th is Capricorn, Saturn in Capricorn (this would be my younger sister).

I wanted to look into the 7th, 9th, etc. if you have more than one child but it gets complicated beyond that so I think I'll just stick with the first child.

It works in my mom's case !

She has 5th house cusp in Taurus, and her venus is in Virgo. That wud be me.
She has 7th house cusp in Gemini, and her mercury is in Virgo too (conj the venus, btw). That's my sis.

Ok, another doubt. (hehe, yeah I am a very skeptical person )

What if there is a clash between what the mother's chart says, and what the father's chart says?

And what if someone has more than 3 children?

Hmmm....is there a theory which can also tell how many children one wud have?

There is a theory in predictive astrology that explains the potential amount of children one can have. It's said that if you take the ruler of the 5th house, and find out how many aspects it will make before it leaves the sign it's in, that's the number of potential children you could have.

For example: My 5th is in Taurus, Venus is at 18 degrees of Scorpio. Before it leaves sign, (In theory), it will form a conjunction to Mercury in Scorpio and a wide conjunction to Saturn in Sagittarius. Therefore, it's said that the potential amount of children I'll have is 2. (I have hormone probs that make it pretty hard for me to conceive anyway).

Also, I think it can become modified depending on the father of the child as well. Often, when I'm researching couples with children, I look at the composite and davison 5th houses for the parents...and draw information that way...THEN I look at the individual charts and see if I find anything that smacks me in the face

What I find interesting is that I've got a feeling I'd have twins. Venus (5th ruler) is conjunct natal Mercury (this is Mercury's ONLY aspect). And Mercury is the ruler of my 7th house (2nd child). I've got Pisces/Virgo intercepted in my 3rd/9th. with Jupiter there (Jupiter trines my Venus).

My boyfriend is a twin, with Gemini/Sagittarius intercepted in his 3rd and 9th. I looked at his chart, 5th house... and it hints at twins as well. Our composite and davison, has Mercury dancing all around our 5th house/7th house area. He's got 5 planets in his 3rd house, including his 5th ruler...Uranus (also the ruler of his Moon/Jupiter conjunction in the 5th house)

I found that pretty interesting.

and mine
