I am wondering what anyone here might know about how one's Sun/Moon midpoints are influenced by transits. Are hard aspects the ones which cause the greatest changes? And if so does that necessarily mean that hard aspects = hard times? Or does it just depend on which planet is involved? I noticed that this coming October, Karma asteroid will be transiting through my 12th house and conjuncting my S/M midpoint. It then turns retrograde mid-October right on my midpoint, moves back through Taurus until the first week of January, 2008 when it goes direct. It re-conjuncts my midpoint by the beginning of March. I thought this was sort of interesting, especially since my midpoint conjuncts my natal Mercury, Osiris and Vesta. I should also add that my natal Karma exactly trines my Sun/Moon midpoint. this is advanced astrology.A midpoint is important when it closes off or is part of a major configuration. Like if you have a T-Square and your Sun/Moon midpoint turns it into a Grand square. good luck IP: Logged |

Lalinda:Are midpoints not important in other ways? I was actually just checking mine out the other day, and they were pretty interesting. I don't have a major configuration in my chart at all, except for a stellium. Does that mean they aren't important for me? Mine seemed important too...although perhaps it's partly because I remember reading something that IQ Hunk wrote about karma transits. But more potently, the night I met my ex-BF, there were so many interesting transits to both our natal charts. Transiting Amor was conjuncting his natal Karma and transiting Karma was conjuncting his natal Amor. Transiting Valentine was conjunct his natal NN. Also, transiting Juno was conjunct his Sun/Moon midpoint. As for me, transiting NN was conjunct my natal Valentine (the opposite of the BF). Transiting Valentine was widely conjuncting my Descendant (5 degree orb), transiting Amor was conjunct my Vertex and my Sun/Moon midpoint was widely (another 5 degree orb) conjuncting Osiris. Also, the T. Moon was conjunct my natal Moon. I actually knew when I met him that I was going to fall in love with him. And that's the first time I've ever been sure of anything like that in my life. So maybe I'm just going to have to wait and see what, if anything, happens IP: Logged |

Just for interest's sake, I looked into the transits occuring during the first meeting chart of my ex-ex-BF (who is quite relevant here since his birthday is the same day as my ex and their charts have some odd similarities...even though one of them was born 4 and a half years before me and one four and a half years after me).On that day, transiting Karma was conjuncting my natal Karma. Transiting Venus and Saturn were conjuncting my natal Saturn (Saturn Return!!). In the ex-ex-BF's chart, transiting Karma was conjuncting his natal Juno. Transiting Valentine was conjuncting his natal Venus. Transiting Vertex was conjuncting his natal Isis and transiting Isis and Osiris were conjuncting his natal Amor. His natal Vertex was conjuncting transiting Venus. Transiting Valentine was conjuncting his Sun/Moon midpoint. I also just noticed that on the day I met my most recent ex, transiting Valentine was conjuncting my Part of Marriage (as well as his NN) and transiting Karma was conjuncting his Part of Marriage. How's that for karma. Gee willikers. IP: Logged |

I was refering to the upcoming transits like if a transiting planet conjuncts the Sun/Moon midpoint.Another time midpoints are important is when they are conjunct a planet in synastry. (MP conjunct their planet) It just depends, you notice them more when they are in hard aspect. good luck. IP: Logged |

lalalinda~Thanks for your advice. I knew you were talking about the upcoming transits, I was just pointing out former transits at significant points in my life to illustrate why I was wondering about the upcoming transits. And as for hard aspects, I assume you mean oppositions or squares and not conjunctions? I went back to a few times in my life when things were not so great and found that, as an example, transiting Karma was directly opposed to my natal Karma the day that I found out that my parents were getting a divorce when I was 11. Saturn was also opposing my S/M midpoint. So I suppose conjunctions would not be AS important in regards to SM midpoints then? On the day my BF and I broke up, transiting NN was squaring my S/M midpoint. Transiting Juno was also squaring my S/M midpoint as well as conjuncting my natal Karma. ***edited to correct*** Transiting Juno was actually trining my S/M midpoint. T. Juno was also conjuncting the T. name asteroid of my former BF. Hmmmmmmm..... IP: Logged |

hi mustang, again it just depends (in the natal) if you're a Full Moon birth, then the midpoint will be the square. That would be a sensitive point. Conjunct a House cusp would be important also. IP: Logged |

Hiya Love!I had some significant dates that I wrote down all of the transits for. One was a dream that set off tons of events and changed my life. Transiting KARMA made an exact conjunction to my guy's Sun/Moon midpoint and transiting Saturn was in opposition to his S/M MP within 1 degree. (He's in the dream and it "woke me up" to him.) Think you might be on to something..esp. where transiting KARMA is concerned in relation to S/M midpoint. Be sure to let IQ know when he comes back! 8th IP: Logged |

8th ~Yeah, I will mention it to IQ when he returns. The thing is, I'm not exactly so hot with transits. I'm still learning so I'm not really sure how to interpret them. I just thought that it was interesting that while I was trying to figure out midpoints, I should find that Karma would be retrograding right over my S/M midpoint. Maybe it means very little, but it was a funny sort of synchronicity. IP: Logged |

Hi Love,I'm certainly no expert. I usually do my "research" by looking back on important dates to see if an aspect occurred. Since you're talking about the asteroid "Karma," I looked at events that seemed to involve destined events on some level. Try looking at the transits from dates that were significant in your life and see if Karma hit that midpoint. It could be valid! 8th IP: Logged |
