Hi Mama Mia I know that certain houses pertain to certain emotions {I guess that's the best way to phrase it} But I'm wondering about planets in houses {probably should have phrased my question better :/} Say for instance, venus in the 5th house...How would that play out between two people? Or sun in the 4th house? I'm wondering which overlays would make for the best relations.

OK well do you know what each house represents...5th house fun, romance, children yada yada so I think a relationship would be based on that kind of stuff..4th house rule the home, maybe you will have a very home feeling together comfortable if you will.

I may not make alot of sense, but I know in my head better then I can explain..

You are making perfect sense! lol And thank you for your thoughts as well!!! How do you feel about the 8th house... Say for instance sun or moon in the eighth? What kind of experiences have you had with people and good/ bad house overlays? {sorry for the twenty questions}

Yeah I think the 5th house is impotant for fun.

My Bf's Sun is in my 5th house.
My Sun is in my Bf's 5th house.

We always have so much fun when we are together.

Also the 4t house. It ahs do do with home...what makes you comfortable.

My Bf's Mercury, Pluto, and Venus are in my 4th house.

My Venus, Moon, Mercury, and Chiron are in his 4th house.

I do feel very at home with him. We feel so comfty together.

I would say the 7th house is also important. The house of romance.

My Bf's Ascendent and Amor sit on my Descendant aka 7th house.

My Ascendant sits on his Descendant.

My Eros and Mars are in his 8th house.

I do think the classic 7th house links are important. But in addition I've also noticed by looking at the love relationships of friends and family that the houses which are strongest in the natal charts also play an important role in synastry. For instance with a friend of mine the planet of the men that she was most in love with strongly triggered her 10th house. Not a very romantic overlay one would assume by looking at astro literature, but in her case 10th house is her strongest natal house. Another friend of mine I've noticed that the men's planets were ALWAYS strongly placed in her 3rd house.....in her natal chart, 3rd house is her strongest house AND is ruled by venus.
Have you noticed something similar in your experience?

1st house = shows significant impact on each other's outlook on life

4th house = influences the comfortability between to people, also shows closeness and a natural sense of belonging

5th = where fun, romance, activities, leisure are activated...shows the creativity and splendor associated with love affairs (especially new affairs)

7th house = commitment and a sense of partnership..."you complete me" sort of thing..

8th house = deep psychological and physical attunement to one another, profound feelings and transformations...where "joint" issues begin

10th house = shows signficant impact/association with one's goals in life, and their aspirations for their future

11th house = friendship

12th house = soulful connections...kind of like feeling one is subconsciously tuned into you and your psyche/persona and vice versa

Any combo of these would be nice...

Some others..

The 2nd house shows stability and general support. Physical support, also sensuality and the desire to provide for one another...In some relationships, this is very important, especially in marriage.

The 3rd house shows communication and mental compatibilities...Obviously we all know how important this is...

The 6th ...youre willingness to serve and help each other, and how you deal on a day-day basis

The 9th... is wishy washy to me...generally I know its belief systems, and learning/expanding our knowledge about the world at large through each other...

It mostly depends on what you expect from your partnership

This is true, but when I look back on some past relationships I can see the roles the house placement played..Even in the one I am currently in, it kind of begins to shine if you let it be..

This is the best relationship I've ever had to tell you the truth. I've never had so many planets in the 4th house with anyone. not even the 7th house.

It makes sense Twinkle, the 4th house rules our deep inner needs, it must have felt like home

added: it also depends on the aspects, e.g. your 7th house makes stressful aspects and the 5th or 8th supportive, then of course a satisfying relationship will go under the 5th or 11th not 7th.

Me & the guy I'm crushin on have a lot of 4th house overlays!I love it!His Sun/Moon/Mercury/Juno/Jupiter/saturn are all in my 4th house.(Virgo).My Moon/Juno/Pluto/Vertex are all in his 4th house.I DO feel very at ease with him...like we can talk about anything.(Must be the Moon/4th house overlay double-whammy.I'm comfortable expressing my feelings w/ him & hope he feels the same.)But,on the negative side,my Sun is in his 11th house, which is why I think he just wants to be friends.Actually, alot of my planetes are in his 11th house(Taurus)...Sun/Mars/Chiron/Mercury/Venus.But on a happier note,he has a stellium in Virgo(Including Sun),I have a stellium in Taurus(including Sun),so that makes for a lot of trine aspects between us! His Mars is in my 5th...I think this is why I wanna "get with him" LOL!Oh...and it conjuncts my Moon,so I'm comfortable with him.

But then again we both have Taurus Moons. Not close enough to be conjunct but I feel it helps us relate. Plus my Venus and Chiron are in Taurus also. It connects to his Moon.

Hey Ann.
I think overlays involving the angular houses (1, 4, 7, 10) are very important and, depending on the aspects, feel wonderful. Conjunctions with the angles are usually strongly felt too. Besides that though, I think it really depends a lot on each person's particular chart.

For instance, I seem to fall hard for guys who have their personal planets in my 3rd house, especially when it's their Moon. But the 3rd house is important for me: I have Venus (the ruler of my descendant) in there. Plus, the third house is usually associated with Gemini, and I have that sign on my 8th house cusp, and I have its ruler, Mercury, in my first house. All of these things make the 3rd house an important house for my individual self-expression, the way I relate in a partnership, and the way I feel deeply connected with someone. So I think it's fun to study the chart of the object of your affection and see which houses are his hot spots and if you contact them and vice versa.

Thank you for posting the descriptions, Alanabelle!!!

Say person A has their moon in person B's 8th house and person B has their sun {and venus... } in person A's 8th house. How do you think they'd react to each other seeing as there is the sun/ moon thing going on?

Ann - lol, you're lucky I misplaced my baseball bat.

Doing something similar with your chart, you have Venus in Sag in your first house. The first house (of self) is associated with Aries, and you have Aries on the cusp of the fifth house (of romance and creativity). In the fifth house, you have Saturn. So I would think that you'd be attracted (Venus) to someone whose planets are in your first house, and you'd want to have a committed, romantic (Saturn in the 5th) relationship with them. Giving a quick look at your chart, I'd say the 1st house is definitely one of your hot spots.

If you're wondering how I know what your chart looks like, a Scorpio Mercury has her ways. Ways that may or may not be legal.

heyya Jane,

I was wondering how your scorpio mercury plays out in your synastry, I always hear lots about scorpio in venus, but not much about in mercury...

hope you're good!

LOL.. Jane, I wish we lived near each other. I have a feeling you'd be a blast to hang out with! Thanks for explaining it, I'm kind of starting to understand and the first house contacts make sense... I tend to like men who have their sun or venus in my first.

As for your scorpio mercury, it just makes you that much more smoldering! {as well as wise}

Taurus80 - Yeah, Venus in Scorpio gets all the attention. It makes my Mercury want to whine "Venus, Venus, Venus" the way Jan on the Brady Bunch whines "Marcia." But I do have Venus square Pluto which according to another thread here gives me some Scorpio Venus flava.
Maybe it's my Scorpio Mercury, plus Mercury ruling my 8th house, but I'm never sexually attracted to a guy unless I also feel a strong mental bond with him. He has to have brains and depth (mental depth you dirty, dirty bull. And girth. I demand mental girth. ) So in synastry, I need lots of aspects to his Mercury, so that I can view him like that, and I also like lots of aspects to mine. I also seem drawn to many people who have Mercury in Taurus opposing mine.

Ann - Of course we'd have fun, my sun is in your 1st house.
I don't know about the wise part (smouldering is right on, though ), but since I have Mercury conjunct Uranus, I think of that as the astrological cause for me being a smart (mercury) ass (uranus). I also have asteroid "Sweet" conjunct Uranus. But now I'm just showing off.

ErickaF - Astrologers disagree on the answer to that. Of what I've read, most believe it's the house person who feels it and some believe it's felt both ways. I haven't read anything yet saying that it's only the planet person who feels it, but there are probably some who believe that.

Personally, I think both feel it, but the house person feels it more. If a few of someone's personal planets fall in my 7th house, I'll likely feel attracted to him and think of him as an ideal partner for me. Meanwhile, the planet person will sense that I'm receptive to him playing that role and, if he's also attracted to me, he will want to play that role for me. The house person will feel the attraction and the planet person will recognize that the other is attracted and will take it from there. For many, knowing that another person likes you is seductive and will cause you to be attracted to them too.
But there are plenty of examples where neither the house nor the planet person feels anything, and other examples where only the planet person feels something. I think those are cases where deeper study of the individuals' charts is needed to explain what's going on. (Maybe this house isn't a receptive part of the person's psyche; maybe these planets are a dynamic, outgoing part of the other person's psyche. Maybe the house person has a different spot in her chart that's her "hot spot" and it's not being activated. Or maybe the people have hard aspects elsewhere in synastry that cancel out any attraction the house overaly would bring.)
