Jane~

I had never looked into True Black Moon before. I have no idea why I hadn't, but your story inspired me to look it up in my chart (and then of course in my ex's chart) and it turns out there are quite a few interesting things about that!

First of all, my North Node is exactly conjunct his True Black Moon in Scorpio. Exactly. My NN is also conjunct his Sun, Juno and Cupido.

Boy, I wish Astrid had a paragraph about that one.

On the day we broke up, my ex's natal Juno was being conjuncted by transiting TBM (in retrograde - no idea what that might mean) in the 8th and his Karma was being conjuncted by TBM rx in the 9th.

Conversely, in my chart, transiting Karma asteroid had just passed over my natal TBM and transiting Moon and Mars were conjuncting it (in the 11th).

Transiting TBM rx was conjuncting my Cupido and Vertex (in the 5th, in Scorpio).

And to top that all off, my name asteroid was moving through Scorpio, in retrograde as well, and skipping along with transiting TBM rx the whole time.

For me, I know this relationship is over since it was so ridiculously karmic, but it's still crazy to see all the TBM stuff.

In our synastry chart, we also have his Black Moon Lilith and his Karma conjuncting my Vertex.

Very interesting indeed.

Here's what I found on The 'Black Moons':
http://astronuts.tribe.net/thread/a67f4ad9-5c45-436e-b73f-3a7ec23d5608

Information on Black Moon Lilith

Dark Moon, Black Moon or Lilith, this hypothetical point in astrology is known by several names. Some argue that the Dark Moon is one thing, Black Moon another and Lilith yet another. The reality is that there is an asteroid named Lilith, but it is not the same as the Dark or Black Moon. However, when used as a point in a birthchart, all three names appear valid as they all seem to describe the same thing.

This point arises due to the Moon's path around the ecliptic forming an axis of the perigee when the moon's orbit is closest to the earth and the apogee when its orbit is furthest from the earth. It is an empty area, a void created, an empty focus. Moving at about 40 degrees a year, the perigee is from where the path of the Dark Moon is calculated. It takes a little under nine years for it to complete its course.

In astrology, the Dark Moon is representative of the darker side of our nature, the negative side. It is the hidden depths that we know exist yet we prefer not to acknowledge. It is subtle on the surface, yet profound beneath. It is the foundations of our personality and the shocking truth that we often deny and project onto others instead. The refusal to see what is really within ourselves. The subtle refusal to see what part we may have played in some unpleasant drama of our lives, how we ourselves have manifested our fears. It is the kind of thing that we intrinsically know we have to deal with, confront the darker side in order to progress unhindered, yet most often we try to ignore. It is the deeper truth that we are forever in search of within ourselves. Probably the best use we can make of the dark moon is to explore our hidden depths, realise that we all have that darker side and go within to resolve that which ultimately hinders us.

The Dark Moon is representative of the negative traits of guilt, shame, hatred, envy, and vengefulness, often brought about by personal wounds and hurts. The true dark side of things we try to hide.

There is another side of the Dark Moon astrologically. Carl G Jung, the famous psychoanalyst described something that he called the "anima". The anima is a man's image of the ideal woman and also the feminine side of his personality. For a woman it is the image of the ideal man and the masculine side of her personality. So the dark moon in a birthchart will represent these ideals too.

It is also representative of the enchantress or the seducer, one who lures another by use of sexuality or devious means. The kind who tempts another by implying that the grass is greener on the other side, that they can "rescue" someone, but it is in reality for their own selfish gain.

The Dark Moon, Lilith, also has associations with motherhood, like her counterpart the Moon. With Lilith however, the instinctive nurturing is replaced by a strong protection of her offspring to the point that she would kill if necessary any that threatened them or caused them harm. She is also reactive against the ties involved with motherhood and the emptiness that mothers sometimes feel by isolation and the perceived lack of individuality that accompanies it.

These things do not only apply to women, they apply to men as well, as the Black Moon is also their feminine side.

That is very interesting! Thank you for sharing. I noticed that you and I both had BML aspects, either transits or in synastry, involving the Vertex and Juno. But I never would've thought to check for tx-BML if it hadn't been for cat71's post when she shared her discovery, so I have to thank her for pointing that out.

I'm trying to find something constructive about BML since in my Davison with my bf we have it conjunct our Sun (0º) in our 8th house. I like how the poster in your link described BML as an intense, primal, seductive, enchanting, shadow, metaphysical point. And I found this helpful in what you quoted:

quote:
Probably the best use we can make of the dark moon is to explore our hidden depths, realise that we all have that darker side and go within to resolve that which ultimately hinders us.

Having it conjunct our Sun, in the 8th house of all places, emphasizes how important it is in our relationship to be deeply honest with ourselves and one another. We both naturally lean to the self-reliant side, not too keen on sharing our weaknesses or problems with other people. But in this relationship, I always felt the urge to be very open with him and just being that way and seeing how well he handles it makes me more trusting and it becomes easier and rewarding to relate like that with him. And being honest naturally encourages growth. No hiding from problems or procrastinating, honesty forces a moment to its crisis (to quote Eliot, lol, man I know I'm tired when I quote poetry). So I really can see how BML influences our relationship, in the way that sharing our "shadow" side comes more naturally with one another than it has with anyone else. It's definintely a part of our bond and is part of the magnetic attraction. Also, sh*t seems to hit the fan whenever we aren't mindful of being completely honest. All in all, I don't think BML is so bad. The transits can be hell b/c they'll push any of your dark side that you've been hiding out of the depths and onto the surface, but that's necessary. Certainly not pleasant when it's happening though.

Oh, another BML placement you and I have in common involves our name asteroid, just in different ways. Yours in a transit, while in his natal chart, my bf has his "Jane" conjunct his true BML (also his Mars and Part of Marriage). All of this in his chart conjuncts my Juno and sextiles my Karma. Guess BML is rather prominent in our relationship on all levels.

I just now thought to check tx-BML against our Davison chart back when we broke up. Tx-BML was on our Karma-DC conjunction. Have you looked into Davison charts? I'm finding them to be accurate descriptions of the relationship. You may find that too.
