stumbled across this great article...

The Goddess planet will be in a "dance" of energies with Saturn, the "Father" aspect of the Masculine energy. Here is Marielle's description of what these energies may mean in your life!

What could possibly happen when she turns her back at us? Sweet Venus… planet of love, beauty, affection, sensuality, romance, and everything delicious! From our Earth point of view her regular cruise speed appears to slow down now – we call it “pre-retrograde”. Here are the dates for the cycle in question:

Venus pre-retrograde: June 23rd to July 27th, 2007

Venus retrograde: July 27th to September 8th, 2007

Venus post-retrograde: September 8th to October 12th, 2007

Venus and “big boss” Saturn on a date
“It was late at night and the rain was beating loudly upon the windows. That’s when she finally accepted to embrace the challenging responsibility handed to her a few days prior.” Sounds like a novel, doesn’t it? Well… Saturn and Venus have met at 27 degrees Leo on July 1st, 2007. This event is most significant because they’ll continue “dating” until well into the month of October, this year. It is quite unusual since Venus and Saturn usually visit only for a day, once a year.
Let’s imagine that Venus is a maiden and Saturn a mature man. Leo is a sign of prestige and stardom, of showbiz and drama, of youth and children. Saturn is a bit restricted in the sign because it doesn’t have the natural glow required but it does have the practical drive allowing benefiting from the situation though. A good metaphor for Venus-Saturn’s date would be that a mature widower having children and status is asking the maiden to marry him. In return she’ll get respect, wealth, a higher status in the world, a good reputation, and stability but she’ll have to sacrifice the dreams and fantasies pertaining to her youth. It is reminiscent of the Beauty and the Beast story. The Beast turns out to be anything but a monster and Beauty’s sacrifice happens to be quite rewarding.

This “date” occurred when Venus appeared to be slowing down. This means that she was losing some of her power and, for all of us, anything Venusian acquired or started during such a time will also lose in value or success. Now, it is in such a time that Saturn picks her up and, perhaps, their alliance could benefit to both – and to all of us as well providing that we too accept some restrictions in order to salvage the long term survival of desired conditions.

Another metaphor for this “date” could go like so… In the case of Venus-money and Saturn-employer, we could imagine that a business’ profit is dangerously slowing down. They’ll offer their employees a temporary lower salary in order to maintain a lasting job. If they’d refuse it would mean that the enterprise would close down in weeks, perhaps.

On a Venus-Saturn date… one must give something to get something! A re-empowerment of momentarily uncertain situations is definitely possible since the “big date” occurred while the two planets were on a very positive conversation with Pluto. Indeed Pluto in Sagittarius is still aligned with the galactic centre and channels cosmic encoding bringing further our planetary evolution. The level of the coming changes seems so embryonic that it is almost impossible to embrace its full meaning. One must remain much centered; go with the flow with attention, grace and detachment. All will be revealed within and nowhere else.

Difficult choices
Venus has not said “yes” yet. She’ll move out of Leo and into Virgo first. If Leo represents the Queens and Kings, Virgo represents their servants. The royals’ servants are sophisticated, polished, top notch and efficient. So is Virgo which is the sign where Venus is the least comfortable. The maiden in Virgo is reminiscent of the Cinderella story: the fine girl having lost everything is treated and abused like a pauper. But she already met her good saviour when neither of them really knew about each other’s reality.
It is in Virgo that Venus will turn Retrograde on July 27th. South Node of karmic lessons is near her at the time. For all of us who are being touched by Venus’ influence, it’ll seem like we’ll have to humble ourselves and serve in ways that are not necessarily our usual routine. Helping people in need or ill, close to us or in our community, will be a choice presented to many. If we help, it’ll be good karma useful in later times. If we don’t… Whatever choice we make remains our precious teacher, no matter what the outcome will be.

There is no doubt that many will be facing difficult options to pick from. Take your time to make accurate decisions.

Zodiacal signs most affected by Venus Retrograde
Venus rules Taurus and Libra which are the signs most touched by this retrograde cycle. Saturn rules Capricorn and Aquarius which become the rescuer signs. Alliances between those could bring new long term concepts about business, finances, partnerships, humanitarianism, children, and arts, and could morph the current world challenges into happy ending such as in the Beauty and the Beast story. Or not, depending if we are fighting to maintain our lifestyles or status as is, even if circumstances prove us wrong.

Love and money
In classic Astrology it is suggested to avoid starting a new love relationship (or partnership) under Venus retrograde or to make new financial investments. Such love relationships (or partnerships) are usually quite intense and fascinating but also karmic. It is often the case that when Venus turns direct again one’s feelings will change as well. As for financial investments, Venus ruling money, results could only be a loss in value. On the news recently, there were these people having just bought beautiful and brand new houses which were now damaged by severe floods. What a loss in value! How could they sell when the weather conditions are not going to improve anytime soon?
It is better to pay debts than to invest. Saturn likes it when one assumes responsibilities. The Venus-Saturn date is about sobriety not about luxury.

Although Venus is fallen in Virgo, she still remembers her status and, for that reason, she is returning into Leo (while retrograde). There, she’ll have a second date with Saturn at 27 degrees on August 13th, again in a happy conversation with Pluto in Sagittarius. No doubt that realistic appreciation of one’s circumstances is embraced with courage, creativity and efficiency. Venus says YES to the proposed alliance with Saturn. The maiden marries the widower! In our world, it means that everyone is likely to get a fair share of what is available. Not only that but it is quite possible that much could be done with less. After all, it is said that necessity is mother of invention…

Under Venus retrograde old love relationships or people that we haven’t heard of for a long time tend to show up again. Sometimes it is to heal or complete whatever was left behind, sometimes it is just a passing revisiting and life goes on as usual. Completion with the past, healing the heart, nurturing an old dream that could be brought up into manifestation sooner than later, these all are classic manifestation in such times.

Venus is also the planet of beauty. When with Saturn and retrograde, one would be better to postpone any plastic surgery done to enhance one’s beauty. There could be a serious risk of being disappointed with the result. On the other hand, the combination helps to repair what is not working properly in the body.

Venus turns direct; third and last date
Venus turns direct at 16 degrees Leo on September 8th, 2007, retracing her steps forward and appreciating what she has put together – or regretting not having done what was necessary – all depending. Meanwhile Saturn would have left Leo for good on September 2nd to travel in Virgo for more than two years.
It is at 4 degrees in Virgo that the third and final Venus-Saturn date will occur, on October 13th, 2007. This is very close to the South Node of karmic tests. If the agreement between the two planets was realistic and sufficiently cautious it has good chances to survive the coming challenges. Let’s not forget that the world is changing and long term planning cannot be too certain. It is easier to make the short term sturdy first and to see how it goes in time. Health, healthy living, being environmentally conscious, preservation of natural resources, attention given to the global warming, these are all themes that will remain part of our lifestyle for a while. Saturn is about taking responsibility and it demands that pleasure oriented Venus becomes frugal and dutiful. Can we too accept it as a personal value in our connection to the world in general?

Final step and Retrograde Mercury
From October 13th to 23rd, 2007, Venus and Saturn will complete their exact conjunction to the South Node in Virgo. It is also on that day that Mercury – Virgo’s ruler – turns retrograde until November 2nd, 2007. All the elements of our story have reached their full exposure and are ready, come what may. A general key word for the coming years would be “global sobriety”. Toning down our attachment to comfort and luxuries is not necessarily a pain. There is joy to be found in simplicity. As we hear sometimes “we were poor but we were happy”… well, we don’t have to be poor but we certainly can be happy even with less.

Karmic South Node says “you can’t eliminate what is a consequence of past actions”. Indeed! Instead we must accept what is and begin to create the future from what is here now, no matter how great or disastrous! The power is in our hands and the starting point is in Virgo, a sign of impeccable service, of down to earth involvement, of preservation and conservation.

Great Article, i keep reading that getting into a relationship during venus retro is not a good move but what about people breaking up during this time? do they usually getback together once its over. a friend is having serious issues with his girlfrined, the problems have always been there but i think he will really break up with her now. He has a heavy Venus chart. Sun in Taurus, Moon in Libra.

Let we see should they appear or not. It is a time to look the demons for one last time that are haunting me from 2005 or to dance with a demon again...
