Would a cancer sun with at sag moon have a constant change in feelings? Aren't these two signs a contradiction of each other? Would this cause one to be undecided a lot?

Since the moon is in the mutable sign Sagittarius, there would be some moodiness, though not in the same way that a Cancer is moody. I don't know quite how to explain it...

This person would have some conflict in their personality since Cancer is typically a homebody, is shy (at least when first meeting people), very emotional and can be possessive of lovers.

Sag is outgoing, unemotional, loves adventure and absolutely needs freedom. Thus, a Cancer sun/Sag moon person would feel conflicted: on one hand they want to stay home, but also want to travel or just get out of the house. They would also cling onto their lover, but also want freedom.

It can be a challenge, but at the same time it adds a fiery and outgoing nature to the otherwise moody Cancer. It makes them more balanced in a way.

Fire/water and earth/air are good combinations to have. For instance I'm a Gemini sun with a Capricorn moon. My earth moon keeps me down-to-earth and makes me very reliable (Geminis are usually not reliable and are very flighty).

So although a water sun sign would find it challenging to have a fire moon sign, the balance it provides can be a real blessing in disguise.

I disagree, if anything a firemoon is anything but balancing for a watersun. I think air moon is much stabilizing for a watersun because it pretty much works in the same way as an earth moon minus the grounding factor (and baring the two luminaries being in hard aspect).

My husband has the combo, and he is very much a Crab. He loves, LOVES staying home vto play computer games. He is game to leaving the house to go see a movie or have dinner. He has gone out to party with me, but its not up his alley. He is v ery shy, and has few friends. I see the Sag Moon in his love of sports and animals. Lol, and his love of all the Sag that I am

I based my observation on the fact that I have friends with the water sun/fire moon combo and they come across as very balanced. I do have friends with a water sun and air moon and they tend to be very high strung. Whether or not this rings true for the general population is another matter. I just base my answers off of personal experience.

I was speaking from my own observations as well. Becuase from what I've see, fire moon has not acted to balance a water sun but only made things a bit more unstable and dramatic in people I've known unless there were other influences to balance it out. Most of the water sun/air moon people I know are so much more mellow and chill.

belgz,

I'm a cancer sun/virgo moon who's almost the exact same way. I go through moods like 10 times a day..lol. I think crabs with mutable moons have this the baddest, not just sag mooners. And the moodiness and indecisiveness you speak of, Sinderlou, could just be a cancerian trait. Hope this helps!

Dulce Luna,

All right then. We'll just have to agreee to disagree.

Perhaps, in the people we have both observed, the other planets have a far greater influence on the personality of these individuals which can mellow someone out or make them more dramatic.

Astra, I agree with you...up to a point. For instance, I have a friend with a Cancer sun, sag moon, gemini venus, and pisces mars. I was always suprised that she was a cancer because she seems so much more fiery. Now that I've seen her chart I know its the sag moon working together with the cancer sun. Basically with this girl, when she's happy....you know it. When she's sad....you know it. When she's angry....and etc. etc. She has this very dramatic and in your face way of expressing her emotions which I would bet any money on that it has to do with the sun/moon combo (admittedly I don't know her asc).

On the other hand, I know a cancer sun/libra moon who the complete opposite. Yeah, she irritates me sometimes but she is mellow and calm (despite her sun and moon being sqaure by sing and even aspect depending or time of birth.

Sinderlou,

I'm not entirely sure but I think the ASC comes into play on first meeting. And then maybe his sun/mars combo for romantic interest and then maybe his sun/moon combo if he's really comfortable with you. Although the constant change of feelings sounds like a cancerian thing. A mutable moon will amplify it.

But wait, are you speaking of his moods or his romantic feelings?

Okay, Cancer Sun, Saggie Moon - that's me! Moon (the ruler of Cancer) is very prominently placed in my 1st house, which makes its influence even stronger, I guess. My Sun is in the 8th ... So we really have some contradiction here. I am trying to get along with it for over 30 years now ...;-) And somehow it works. Maybe it even makes me ... "special" in a way...?

Let me describe the contradiction:

I'd say: I am quite outgoing, blunt, courageous and full of (sometimes witty, sometimes dark) humour - that's my Saggie Moon in the 1st. I guess people would describe me as "entertaining" and extremely independent. I am playful & adventourous (not physically, I don't like sports, but I take mental and emotional risks quite often, and I am a very good and enthusiaqstic dancer and karaoke-singer and stuff like that.) And really: Very independent. I value freedom so very much - and I grant it to others as well! I think that I am truly tolerant and fascinated by all the diversity that different characters/people carry ... I am philanthropic (like people very much) and generous. I "let people be" themselves - and I want to be able to "be myself" as well. I am honest, which borders to bluntness sometimes ... All my beloved Saggie-traits.

But ... I have a very secretive/protective side as well. This is my Cancer Sun in the 8th. The worst thing for me would be to share my deepest fears. I rather make a joke than cry. Understand? I am very passionate and clinging - but I'd never (or: hardly ever) show. Sometimes I even play-act, to hide that kinde of "tense"-ness. I don't want people to know about it. I work out most of that on my own. So "safety" IS important to me - I just work on that in secret, I'd hardly ever share this with others...

So ... one could say that, in a way, I keep up a "different image" on the outside. But I do that deliberately - because that feels really "safer". Understand? All the indepence and gregariousness I show to the outside world PROTECTS me from being hurt too easily. So ... in a way ... I use my Saggie-(Moon-)-qualities in order to secure my Cancer-(Sun-)needs, and these are: feeling safe, prevent myself from being hurt - I do that by keeping people on arm's length ... (behaving very independently) and by letting only the very chosen few "in", i.e.: into my mind/inner soul ecc..

Many (!) many people tell me over and over again that I'd be "hard to grab", very erratic ecc. And only the very sensitive ones feel that there is a much more sensitive person underneath that tough/independent outer shell (my AC is in late scorpio and forms a semi-sextile to my 1st house Saggie-Moon).

Indeed I don't commit myself too easily - but IF I do, I really mean it. And I can stand a lot of problems then and can develop such huge patience .... !

I experienced some sort of "shift" from Sun to Moon and back to Sun during my life, I mean: There had been times, when the Cancer-Sun-principle had dominated me and I found it difficult to act out/enjoy my Saggie-parts. This is especially true for my childhood and youth . I was quite "crabby" then - but I always felt this strong strak of "roaming" and "experimenting" and being "less inhibited". The older I got, the more my Saggie-moon-qualities came out - which is especially true for my twen-years! I really changed over the years.

Now I'm in my mid-thirties and try to "make friends" with my Cancer-traits again ... I try to include my longing for "be-longing", "love" and security into my life again. I have negelcted these parts somehow, by leading a (maybe too) independent life. I am actually (re-)discovering my basic needs for belonging ... I have overlooked/overplayed that during the last years. This is how it feels now.

Two more thoughts on the Cancer/Sag-Combo:

I feel nurtured and loved when I have the freedom to be what I want to be and when somebody trusts me (one CAN trust me, I am bloody loyal, if I say so!). I need much space for myself - and I grant all that to other people as well. My generosity in these regards is neither a lack of love, nor of interest, it's the opposite. I tend to trust people, rather than distrust them. Especially if I love them. (And I have been disappointed a few times .... I must admit.)

As far as the "balance" goes: I love my Saggie-Moon because it brings some "objectivity" into my life. I do feel a lot, as a Cancer-Sun - which is great, most of the time, because "feeling" is one dimension of human experience - and it holds clues for many insights that wouldn't be possible without "feeling" it. I am oh so happy that I am not the dry purely intellectual type (although I'm sort of an "intellectual worker" in my job).

But I rarely get "lost" in my feelings, even though they are strong. My Saggie-Moon helps me keep things in perspective - it's an analytical/objective element ... sometimes, even amidst the greatest emotional confusion, I am able to take a step back and take a look "from above" on all my probems ... and this helps me evolve and cope with them.

Cancer-Sun/Saggie-Moon would be an "analytcial feeler" or a "feeling analytic".

One P.S. concerning "homing":

I am quite unstable, geographically, I moverd very often! But even under the most spontaneous, chaotic or different circumstances ... I'll have an eye on the décor/design/interior of my home. I'd always make it the most cosy and nice/elegant plece possible... So: "cosyness" and "nest instincts" with ever changhing addresses .... THAT would be typical for my Caner/Sag-Combo as well.

ENOUGH NOW! Sinderlou, I hope you got an impression now.

Maybe I can help...?

I have Sun, Venus, and Mercury in Cancer all in the ninth. My Chiron is in Gemini which is also in the ninth house. My Uranus and Saturn are both Sagittarius and in the third house, while Sagittarius is positioned in the third because I have a Libra ascendant.

I think I am a Cancer Sun with a lot of Sagittarian influence. I don’t feel as though a battle between my emotions. I think the Sagittarian influence helps me be more open to people and their chosen lifestyles. I am not the typical clingy Cancer. I would much prefer to be alone, enjoying my own company than nuisance someone to be with me. I enjoy new and different experiences, point of views, art, and literature. I am not a judgmental person where I expect others to live their life according to how I live my own but I do have very high standards in how I live my life and my accomplishments. I can be moody but very far from decisive. I have a very rebellious streak that can sometimes get the best of me but I live my life through encountering as many experiences as possible no matter how uncomfortable it may make others. I am blunt, discreet, I can be very outspoken at times but my Cancer ways helps me hold my tongue, I tend to have bizarre behavior in public, I just have bizarre behavior and attitude, and I love animals. I hate being tied down to people and people feeling committed/tied down to me.

Hi Sinderlou,

A constant change in feelings? In general no.

My feelings can be rather impulsive, always very intense. I do tend to loose interest (be it a person or subject) over time if I am no longer stimulated by it. But
I don't waver back and forth, when my feelings change I have moved on.

I could elaborate more if you specify your question a bit. Is this about the same guy from before?

To everyone else, For myself Can/Sag/Gem I find these placements a wonderfully well rounded balance.
I am a homebody (not everyones cup of tea) But I would rather crawl through the forest with my five year old daughter looking for magic wands, than go to the swanky party I would most likely be bored at. Very Cancerian.

At work though, I am on fire. Unstoppable, never failing. In the most stressful hellish situations not only am I fine and smiling but everyone around will be also. The Sag moon gives me pure optimism, I cannot be defeated.

Avarella,
That was a well written description. In many ways it is descriptive of me.
I am very popular and at times even smothered by those around me, I rarely let anyone in too close though. I have always just considered myself aloof and don't have the time or need for close friendships.

You gave me something to think about.
Thank you.
