Has anyone dated or met anyone that has almost the same aspects as you do in your own natal chart(as though looking at a mirror of your own)? If so what was the synastry like, and did you find that your personalities were very much the same? Did you feel there was a deep connection between you? The reason I ask this is I want to know if it's better to be with someone who's natal chart is different and has other aspects that I lack or someone who has almost all the same aspects as me(mabe being able to understand each other more)?

I guess it depends on your own chart and what you expect from relationships. Looking at mine, the closest I came to that was someone born 2 wks earlier [our moons even had similar aspects even though they were in opposing signs]. The difficulty was in trying to bypass all my faults which seemed insurmountable since they seemed to mirror many of his thereby creating a sort of impasse [sp?]. It depends a lot on where the commonality is, I suppose ~ and how far you've come in dealing with your own weaknesses.

But even if their chart mirrored some of my "easier" aspects I'd rather have energy different than mine to bounce off of ~ while at the same time having similar emotional needs and interests.

edit: forgot to add that yes there was an intense attraction from the very beginning and we had different sun and moon signs, but everything else: asc, merc venus onwards was in the same sign ~ oh and we also have "sexual" aspects in our own charts [venus sq pluto for one] so we felt that energy as well. it ended though when i was going through a rough time [my mother dying] and just was not in the mood to be sharing or communicative with anyone about what i was going through. had that not happened the relationship would most likely have lasted much longer [although with a lot of trepidation and fear on my part ~ pretty apt considering we both have very strong saturn/cap energy].

This is an intriguing question you are asking there!

And since we just had a sign-to-sign compatibility thread pop up, it made me think for a second. If I recall correctly, only a few signs listed were compatible with themselves (like Libra) and it'd certainly create some complications if your Sun sign is more individualistic.

(As an aside, the composite chart will look just like the two natals with the synastries showing all same planet conjunctions plus the original aspects from each chart...)

Anyone for a philosophical/holistic take on this?

My current bf is a Gemini one year older than me so we have the same outer planet aspects. And his Venus and Moon are in opposite signs like mine. We have a lot in common and a great connection but sometimes i feel like hes a manifistation of the aspects within me that i havnt dealt with. Like Sun opposing Uranus for example

Jkxx, actually I noticed it was the cardinal signs who always had the opposite gender cardinal 1st.. Capricorn had Capricorn 2nd.. but all the others - Aries/Libra and Cancer had their own Sun Sign first on the list.

Aries is pretty individualistic, but it seems like things still work long term. According to those stats, it even works better than Aries/Leo.

Libraschoice, when you first asked this I thought you were referring to people having similar aspects in their natal.. not necessarily similar signs. I've read that having similar aspects can draw you to a person as well, regardless of the sign. This is true for me, with some aspects.
Mars/Neptune and Venus/Neptune are major for me. I have them in natal, and I always have a good rapport with ppl who have them in their own chart.. even if they are in a different sign. They have similar ideals to me and get me.

This is true for positive aspects in my experience. I have a Sun square Moon.. while I have gone out with a Sun square Moon guy - I think I'm more likely to look for someone who would balance this.. such as someone with their Sun trine their Moon.. so I can learn form them.

Whereas - in the areas I have positive aspects like Venus trine Mars, Venus trine Neptune, Mars conjunct Neptune, Mars sextile Pluto etc.. I'd prefer a guy who has similar - positive aspects.. mainly between Venus/Mars/Neptune.. because they would have a similar outlook to mine - so we'd have less problems.
The people I've known so far, with a Venus/Mars square, are a put off for me. They see the world in a grim way lol and don't genuinely appreciate and love the opposite gender.

I wonder if people with Sun/Moon trines feel this way about me - having Sun square Moon.

The man I'm seeing now has a 12th house Sun like me,and also Merc. in house 12 conj the Asc. from 3 degrees away.Differant house placements though.I think it means we have some similar issues to work on.(12th house Sun is a BIG issue,IMHO!)

my boy.
our moons are square but!
My ascendant in Libra, his moon in Libra.
His ascendant in Cancer, my moon in Cancer.
We don't have any house placements in the same sign but the signs in each house are highly compatible....
if that matters
Saturn, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto are in the same sign for us.

Plus I don't see my self as much of an Aries anymore. I've picked up that Virgo critical syndrome Linda talks about in Love Signs.
I'm like an Aries with a passion for cleaning and intolerance of ignorance and vulgarity!
An Aries would just laugh or point it out, but I hate it!
