How does having a stellium of planets in the 5th house relate to your relationship with children? A person I know has a stellium of planets in the 5th house, likes children, but has a hard time growing up and being mature themselves. Do any of you know someone like this or if this aspect is really true? Thanks

The 5th house is the house of self-expression as well. I enjoy having my Moon conjunct Pluto in the 5th. In the Koch system, my Uranus falls into the 5th house giving me a stellium there.

I've read interps for myself that indicate I wouldn't be a good parent as I'd identify too easily with my children. That could be true, but I would consciously want to work with my hypothetical wife on what our joint values are for parenting.

My Pluto sextiles my Venus/Neptune conjunction in the 7th. I believe this whole circuit of energy is what gives me my artistic bent. 5th house self-expression meets Venus and Neptune in Venus-ruled 7th house. All those water planets join (Moon conjunct Pluto, Pluto sextile Neptune) helping that creativity.

I think I'm also a huge fan of entertainment due to my 5th house placements. I don't think I could ever be one of those snobs bragging about how they never watch tv. If I'm not watching tv, I'm watching a movie, playing a game, playing my guitar, recording music, etc. I'm constantly entertaining myself. Part of this tendency is also my Gemini Rising. I love sitcoms and comedy especially, which I'd tribute to the 5th house.

I can't tell you whether or not I'm having a hard time growing up and acting mature. I'm a Capricorn with Saturn in the 1st. Capricorns are born old. With Gemini Rising I'm forever young. I guess I'm a mix. I've never been married, and I don't think I'd mind if I never was.

Here's my chart using Koch houses:

I have a stellium in the 5th...and I would assert this...what exactly constitutes "growing up"? I never want to grow up. Am I emotionally mature? I'd like to think so. I'm responsible, pay my bills, plan for my future, don't make rash decisions, hold jobs, etc. But...I never want to "grow up". I don't want that mindset that seems to weigh those around me down - I like having that ability to get geeked out like a kid when I get excited, or viewing the world without so much weight on me. I want to enjoy life and have fun.

Did it take me longer than most to "grow up"? In some people's eyes, probably. I didn't "settle down" until my Saturn Return. I traveled a lot and pretty much lived to have fun. It put me a bit behind the starting line later on w/ career and such, but I was able to make it up to my satisfaction.

I also work with children, and have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I teach music classes to elementary school aged children in after school and community center programs, and I find that I can really relate with them. I vividly remember what it's like to be 6...8...11.

Can it be a bad thing? For sure - there's not growing up, and then there's not growing up, as in immaturity, not paying bills, not holding jobs, not realizing that life ISN'T always fun, and coming to grips with that reality without getting bummed out.

What planet the stellium is in makes a big diff too. I have 5 planets in Scorp in the 5th...I find that plays itself out in the form of me loving to perform (5th House), I'm a musician, but I like to hide (behind my drums) while doing it (Scorpio).

I don't know how old your friend is, but with a 5th house Stellium, providing she remembers she's still the adult, she could be a really awesome teacher for younger children IMO because she can relate with them well.

Well this person is a guy. He has SUN conj Pluto in Lib, Mars conjunt Uranus in Scorpio and Venus in Scorp all in the 5th house. And I read that how the Mars C Uranus manifests as a person who has a hard time being a father. I also read that this person focuses so much on being special that they miss out on creativity.

Interesting topic of which I have wondered quite alot about!

I have a young Saggie gfriend who has a loaded 5th house....Jup, Uranus, Sun, Neptune, Venus with Sun, Nep and Venus being in close conj in Sag in the 5th, and I have hesitated over and over to do a "reading" for her due to little experience with 5th house natives...

I will say, though, she is CLEARLY the parent where she and her parents are concerned...a very mature 24 yr old, with a 5 mo old baby at home has to parent her parents going through a nasty divorce...

VERY interesting!!!

Well I guess I would ask...You're thinking about having children with him? You seem very focused on him as it relates to parenting/having children/relating to children.

It's my personal opinion that you can tell more from just knowing him as a person than anything in his chart when it comes to that kind of thing. Does he come across as emotionally immature? All about himself? Being "special" or whatever? If so, IMHO you don't need conjunctions and planet placements to tell you that he's not father material, at this point in his life anyway.

I have the 5th house in...........

SUN
MOON
MERCURY
MARS
SATURN
CHIRON

And I am very playful and am like a big kid myself. I don't have any children but i love to play and keep my nieces overnight and make all day plans with them. They claim I am their fav auntie and I love to make them laugh.

I also think the 5th house has to do with self expression and entertainment. I play in a live band every week as a singer. I write poetry and original music have preformed acting parts in plays and musicals my whole life. I am a professional artist and also teach night classes in art. I recently wrote and illustrated a book. And it is geared towards.......you guessed it! Children. It is a true story of an experience I had as a child and as another person posted, I remember my childhood very very vividly!

Hey Sinderlou, I'd love to chat sometime! I've never had the opportunity to chat w/ someone else who had a packed out 5th house. I'm in two bands, sit in for several others, play drums (my main instrument), bass, guitar, piano, paint, draw (badly), write poetry and fiction, dance, choreograph, design websites, and have always had an interest in theater (but all the Scorpio in my chart gives me a major aversion to the limelight - the thought of being on stage w/out an instrument in front of me..meh).

Anyhow, if you'd like to chat sometime, Randall is welcome to give you my email address.

I'd love to chat. Definitely!!
Hook me up with your email.........The whole limelight thing was VERY hard for me at first and I still get shy now and again but I love music so much that I won't let it hinder me.

Do you have a website?

Hmmm... I'm interested in theatre as well. Just this morning I signed up for an Improv class. I'm a Cap Sun, and my Sun resides in the 8th, so I'm a bit hesitant to get in front of people myself, but hopefully the 'fun' factor of the Improv class will overrule any inhibitions.

I'm also a multi-instrumentalist who can sing, and I enjoy art in many facets. Recently, I've been learning Google's program Sketch Up.

5th house stellium here!
*waves enthusiastically*
I agree with everything AG and Isis said.
I've also taught, teenagers though, have directed youth theatre, have performed sung and acted and love being in front of those footlights. I have written from a young age (5) plays, musicals, books, songs, poetry, you name it!
My parents said I was born old and got younger I have one child, daughter who is a sag. And for the most part, I'll admit the parental roles are somewhat reversed in our relationship. She can be the older person alot, she reminds me I haven't cooked dinner yet LOL, but we get on great and thankfully, she has told me she wouldn't swap me for any of her friends parents. We do theatre together, concerts, day trips and I get alittle crazy but the experiences we have shared on these outings have given us both memeories we can laugh about months and years down the line.
I remember childhood VERY well, as someone else said, and I personally think it makes for a better parent. How many people tell their kids 'you can talk to me about anything' but in truth they shout and scream when they find things out, I don't have that with my daughter, I understand the silliness, the angst, the heart breaks so she really CAN talk to me about anything!
Long live Peter Pan - that's what I say! Second star to the right and straight on til morning!

*edit - my planets in 5th are Pluto, Uranus, Sun, Mercury & Venus and a few asteroids thrown in there as well

Mine are Sun, Merc, Venus, Neptune, and Jupiter.

My website has a few dead links I haven't uploaded yet, and I haven't finished proofreading it...but it's www.creative-chaos.us . You can email me through any of the email addys on that site.

Acoustic - you're like 15 mins down the road from me. One of my bands practices in Livermore once/week, and my partner in the other band lives in Pleasanton. Oh, and you need to get rid of that evil drum machine you use! LOL Drum machine = bad

That's a bit of a diversion from the topic, but there are people who brag about not watching tv as if it's beneath them. There's so much educational tv now I don't see how anyone can think all tv is terrible.

I have a 5th house Neptune. I'm interested about my future with the "5th house Neptune = Secret Child" possibility... an increased risk of an illegitimate/out of wedlock child... of course I'm not married, and I really don't think I want to be.

What I can currently relate to is the drugs-for-creativity purpose of my 5th house Neptune. I feel I write some of my best music under the influence of various substances.

@ the drum machine comment.

I would love to have real drums. Heck, I'd love to play with other people. Right now the only time I do that is a couple Fridays a month when I go out with a ministry that feeds the homeless. Another guy and I play music for a few hours those nights. I play bass those nights.

I've had a fair share of disappointing collaborations with other musicians, so at times I feel like maybe I'm supposed to do it all on my own (which is totally contradicted by my chart's 7th house emphasis). That's where the electronic drums come in. I don't really, truly like them either. I'm always finger drumming in real life (with my Gemini restlessness), and it's much more exciting than some of the drum loops I've recorded. I'd love to have a drum set and place to play them myself. That would be awesome.

Now I'm going to go check out your site.

Oh, I figured you must live around me somewhere. I live in east Pleasanton, and I work in San Ramon. The Improv class I signed up for is in San Ramon.

Cat71,

If you love comedy, you should check out Flight of the Conchords on either HBO or You Tube. It's not cartoon, but it is extremely funny and it incorporates music, which we 5th house people love.

Actually, I guess I'm a fifth house stellium here, as well with Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Mars. I wish I could relate to all of your improv classes and your personal bands and everything but I haven't had a share in any of that. When I was younger (heh, as a kid) I was a lot more involved with my artistic side, given that you're encouraged to allow your creative side to flourish at that time, so I cared very much for creative writing, poetry, art, sculpting, playing instruments. And i don't really think anyone my age was even that interested in writing as I was. My elementary school teachers used to say that I'd be a writer when I I'd grow up and then my English teachers later on would either have issues with my writing style or fall in love with it (very confusing). But as I grew older and advanced in school, the art and writing kind of took a backseat for all my academic classes and hard sciences (I know it sounds odd) but I definitely continued with music with the band (played flute and pic for seven years). And I wish I'd continued playing in college but that didn't happen. And when it comes to athletics, I was never quite obsessed with it but usually went for the "girly" things like synchro and gymnastics or the swim team, etc. (not that the latter is all that frilly lol). But kind of ended those as well, despite potential talent. I hate how I kind of stopped all these things midway especially when I could have progressed much more and thrived. Maybe it's my evil Saturn putting a damper on everything...

Most of these recreational kind of things were suddenly reduced to class projects or mandatory things that required them, even though I wish I could have focused on them a lot more. *Sigh*

Nowadays, I'm still obsessed with music, although I haven't played any in a while. Sometimes I regret having learned flute instead of something like cello; I'd love to be able to play that, but I do take it out from time to time anyway to play random songs I've picked out by ear. I was kind of in the middle of learning guitar but never really had a proper instructor so i had to teach myself and that didn't go as I'd hoped because it was on and off, even though I'm sure I'll pick it up again.

I've always had friends or acquaintances in bands But I don't think they were aware that I'd be interested in being involved in a band or anything. I can sing, read, and write music but haven't really written much for myself. Gosh, I hate myself for not being as duteous and industrious in this area as I could be. It's pretty sad because I'm always in love with musicians, usually drummers.

As for acting, I probably would have liked it had I tried it, but I was always doing music...

When it comes to kids though, I don't think I can imagine having to teach or handle them. I know I have the patience for it since I've had to babysit a lot recently and actually outlasted my sister who just adores children. But then, I'm not really interested in them.

It sounds contradictory, but when I'm not being reserved, mature, and mellow, I'm hyper, strange, and totally immature. I've never been much of a movie type but have always loved comics, cartoons, and comedy. And I guess I've always held onto my childhood a lot more than others my age. Hell, I was always the crazy doll lady and i kind of still am...ssshhh, lol. I love the wilderness, the outdoors, theme parks (I attribute these to sagittarius)... I guess I've never been in a hurry to grow up but know when to be serious. Despite being the younger sibling, I feel that I have a lot more sense than my sister who's five years older.

Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Chiron for me. Basically a huge part of my life has always been about laughing and having fun. I'm mature in that I know how to be responsible, BUT my sense of humour could be described as immature.
