I am so into Solar Return (and Venus Return) charts right now!! I was reading recently that it's a fallacy that re-locating to change your SR chart is possible. I cannot remember the analogy given, but it was pretty funny.

Anyhow, I can speak to the accuracy of my chart (or what I do know about it) so far this year. Uranus is right on top of my IC (with a 6 degree orb)~ I just moved my entire life from a 2 bedroom house in the country with alot of elderly people to a 1 bedroom apartment in the city with so many people my age and there have been soooo many issues. I am also changing jobs and starting my final year of school. I won't go on about all the Uranian details, but let me assure you, there are a ton.

However, POF is also sitting directly on my IC (0 degree orb) and there seem to be positive changes in the works (I hope). It all just seems quite erratic and unpredicatable.

My Sun is also conjuncting my Vertex...not sure what that means but it's happening in the 8th house and they're both conjuncting Mercury.

I'm still trying to understand how to read the SR chart. I know it's basically the same as a natal chart but that it's only interpreted for a year's time.

Also, if Pluto is exactly on the cusp of my first and second houses, does that mean it will influence both?? And if so, how?

I`ve noticed something interesting in this year solar return : the return ascendant is conjunct the natal Vertex and the return Vertex is conjuct the natal ascendant. What do you think about that ?

All of mine have been very very accurate for the past 3 years. Its strange but I'd say for SR's.

The only time I have seen a Vertex/Ascendant type thing was with my BF of 7 years. In our synastry, we had Vertex conjunct Ascendant double whammy. How that might be applied to a SR, though, is beyond me.

You mean you're suppose to use a current location for the SR chart instead of a place of birth? Oops.

I would have to say that my Solar Return for the previous year seemed accurate enough. I am glad to have my ascendant return this year to my natal Capricorn ascendant, though. I have really get somethings done this year, and my little Cappie does that quite well.

I am curious as to what the significance of Mars being stationary retrograde on my Solar Return chart will mean for my next year, though. Seems a bit ominous, especially considering it is my 7th house. I don't think that I could temporarily relocate anywhere but Pluto to miss the stationary retrograde entirely...

NeptuneLove ~ My SR Ascendant is in Scorpio which is in my natal 5th House. I just ended a really wonderful relationship in June. I cannot imagine being prepared for another one so it must have to do with creativity? How usual is it to have a Vertex/Ascendant double whammy like ours? Maybe it's horribly normal??

alcheme ~ I think having any planet stationary retro or stationary direct gives it that much more power and influence in your chart. I would say that it's probably a good thing. I have Pluto Stationary direct in my natal and I find it a really important (and helpful)influence in my life.

writesomething ~ I will try to find that website I read recently about why re-locating has no effect for an SR chart

Found this link that answers lots of the questions posted.
http://www.llewellynjournal.com/article/391

8th

"Using the location of your residence at the time of the birthday is recommended. In fact, if one moves during the year, the Solar Return should be relocated as well. There are subtle shifts of energy as the planets may change astrological house position. Some people actually travel for their birthdays in order to produce the most beneficial rays possible for the year. This is a fine way to start the year but not really a way to avoid issues as the configurations for the residence are waiting when one returns home.

If you're using an astrology program to calculate your Solar Return, select the Tropical zodiac and Placidus house system. Astrologers have long debated the need to precess the return chart which adjusts for the slow change of the earth due to its wobble on its axis. This topic is discussed at length in Identifying Planetary Triggers, where you'll find that:

"The two charts are actually in agreement. It is as if one has the advantage of two eyewitness accounts or two expert opinions on an issue. Sometimes, what may not be accentuated in one account is highlighted in the other. An optimum solution is to calculate and use both return charts."

Hello Dolce Luna,

I use Solar Return for myself since 6 years.
I do it for the place I live and not for the place of birth. It is OK for me.
As I have lived before in abroad, I did it for the Past, again is all right.

In one year, I was in two countries and four cities. None Solar is right.

Actually, I have another question about SR's: My SR Venus is at 16 degrees Leo which is exactly the degree at which Venus goes direct in a couple days.

What sort of significance or effect would this have?
