Hi all ^_^ Personally, I have an 8th house stellium.. And I'm curious if any of you guys in LL that has at least one personal planet in the 8th house (natally) has any experience of someone else's personal planets falling in your 2nd house (in synastry)? I'm curious about how you'd feel about the other person (specially that being in the 2nd house, the other person's planet(s) might be opposed to to the planet(s) you have in your 8th house). I'm also curious of how you view/feel about the issues of your 2nd house. ^_^

Well...I have my Sun, Mercury and Mars in the Eighth house.

The man I have a passionate attraction to now has his moon in my 2nd house. It's biquintile to my Sun and Mercury...and honestly, I don't really pay attention to minor aspects in synastry, so I'm not sure if that's at all meaningful...Also, my Jupiter is in my Second house, and my (8th house) Mars is in opposition to my (2nd house) Jupiter. I have a "funnel chart", with Jupiter as the "stand alone" planet.

How I feel about the person: I feel an intense attraction to him and a level of affection and warmth that I rarely feel for anyone. I have vivid dreams about him often. I adore him and think he is wonderful.

How I feel about/experience my second house: I've never been even close to rich or earned much money. BUT, I've had lots of people through my life wanting to give me things. For example, no one has ever wanted to hire me and pay me a huge salary, but people always want to take me out to dinner or give me lovely gifts, or take me on exotic, expensive trips. All of my close friends have commented on how I just seem to attract that. Also, financial luck on a small scale seems to happen when I need it...like when my boyfriend and I were travelling and low on money, an older couple picked us up and bought us lots of wonderful meals and pretended we were their children and escorted to a different country. And then I got a part-time job (illegally) and my boss arranged for us to live cheaply in a beautiful villa. I've gotten hard-to-get fellowships, and a rent-stabilized apartment in Greenwich Village. Men I'm involved with always want to financially support me. BUT, I have a terrible time getting a job, even though I have an advanced degree and am well-liked socially.

To me this seems like a very typical Second house/Eighth house scenario.

thank you for your reply, Lucia23. ^_^ Honestly, I was curious coz my bf's Venus (in his 8th house) is actually in my 2nd house, and my 8th house stellium is also in his 2nd house. I'm curious about how other "8th house people" would feel when their significant other has their planets on their 2nd house. ^_^
Personally, it gives a kind of supporting feeling, and it also feels like it pulls me to a simpler and real life, away from the 8th house issues.

About what you described, personally, I can relate to it more and less, as I always felt a kind of "protection". And I also agree, it's such a typical Second house/Eighth house scenario.

Hi!

Well, i still dont feel very secure on to interpret astrological placementes but...

i have natally my Moon in mmmy 8th,and my bf has his moon on his final 7th house ( maybe its interpreted on his 8th house?)

And my venus/sun falls on his 2nd house, while his Pluto and Jup falls on my 2nd house.

What do i feel relating to him?? Well i completely adore him and love him from the bottom of my heart, and has nt to do with money or financial motives. As neither him or I have money so hihihihi - what i feel is a great sense of security when im with him - secure of what we share and feel-and yup, theres a huge and great profound warmth between us and care for each other. We do tend to hide our feelings ( uncounsciously) - but wnehever with each other, just by looking at each other,we sense what the other wants to say and cant.~

Dont know exactly if this relates to the above placements, but its what i feel.

hi Diandra23! ^_^ thank you for your reply. Actually, the 2nd house has more to do with just material possessions, it has to do with security and values as well. This house is not one of the most romantic houses for a relationship, but it does add sensuallĩty, warmth and security feelings.. ^_^ Personally, it helped me to pull away from my 8th house issues (insecurity and such), making me feel more secure and able to enjoy the little pleasures of life (actually, I have Taurus NN, so it felt that I've been growing up a bit after being with my bf). So yeah, it is definely huge and great profound warmth. ^_^

Well, don't know if this will help. I have Sun, Jupiter,Uranus,Neptune and South Node in Eighth house.

Usually the Eigth house deals with fear and sexualy realted issues. Because it is closely combined to the 7th house, the "fear and sexual issues" are attributed to either personal relationships and/or platonic ones.It shows where a person feels most vulnerable and is most conscience of being rejected.

I have Sun in Eighth, meaning I have issues or fear the father/father figure/males which is true.My relationship with my father is one of fear(on my part) as I have always been very weary of him since childhood. When I was younger, I was brely comfortable in the resence of males however as I grew up my realtionships with other males has always been serious and lacking brotherly camaradie.I can never be"one of the boys" .Most dudes are weary of me because they think that I am too "seriuos-looking".

I allso have Uranus in Eighth, meaning I have issues and fear regarding technological advances, progression and allso more personally, opening my life to the public. I really do fear computers and new-technologically sophisticated gadgets.I allso have trouble feeling at ease in the company of people I don't know(but who doesn't).This position allso highlights a controversial view towards sexual issues that may be viewed as too progressive.I have learned that it is better not to share my opinion with people around the dinner table.I don't know how many people I have unwittingly offended due to the way I see things when it comes to sex.

The Jupiter in Eighth is responsible for my very high sex-drive.I often think the best way to have fun is through sex.Sexually related materials arouse my interests, I don't know how normal it is for a person to dream of being a director of a porn movie.I allso have a natural knack with money and can be resourceful even with a shoe-string budget.

My Neptune in Eighth lets me fantasize over sexual "perversions".This together with my Jupiter is the reason why I am always thinking of sex and "turned on" by even the smallest visual gesture. It could be seeing somebody half-naked or catching a glimpse of a saucy magazine and already I am sprung. There are absolutely no limits to my sexual fantasies. This position allso arouses an interest in religion.I have always wondered if I'll meet GOD within my lifetime face to face or otherwise, just like Moses did or coverse with him like Neil Walsch did in "Conversations with God".

ahhh THE Eighth house, so freaky and yet oh so fascinating!

i have sun and merc 8th house cancer, merc conj mars 8th house gemini. my partner has sun mars merc (mars and merc conjunct) in my 2nd house, capricorn. These aspects work really positivly for us...

8th house in general... sun 8th house has led to some serious issues with the father figure, unstable childhood, issues with abuse and also connections with the sex industry (thanks for your honesty dude with the sun trine uranus). Perhaps this is also influenced by uranus conj asc by an exact orb, though?

as I've grown older I am discovering the positive side of 8th house, yes it seems people want to look after me, and i have a sense of never having to go without. also I think it is the 8th house that has encouraged my clairvoyance and dream states.

I have an 8th house stellium...although my (teen) life has been rocky from the start, I'm still reeling from the effects of it. But I've learned to at least let go of my past life and into the present.

Sun in 8th House/Leo: I have this natally, but I was young when my father passed away in 1989 when I was 9yo. Although I have very little memory of how he had loved me so much. Aside from that, I had rough relationships with certain foster parents that are abusive and controlling. It in turn had a damaging effect on my psyche. In my teenage years, I had very little friends because they feel that I'm always isolating myself in public. But in truth, I was protecting myself from being hurt.

Venus in 8th House/Leo (I don't know if anyone have this Venus Placement...but I'll put it in for good measure): I have this natally and I don't know how to really describe this placement. My Venus in Leo wants to be a drama queen. But with the 8th house, she just wants more than just drama, she wants physical intimacy. But growing up, I always have a thing for the female body. I really don't know why. But for me seeing it turns me on.

Jupiter in 8th House/Leo:
Response from Gert:

I'm going to highly defend him on this. Sometimes I try not to think about sex-drive on a 24/7 basis. But unfortunately, it's difficult. Especially when my mind has a tendency to look at something that I have no business looking. In addition to that, I also have a "partial" tendency to buy porn movies. Because it has, for the most part, turned me on. 75% of the time.

Saturn in 8th House/Virgo: This is the placement that really concerned me. How can one person tolerate the world full of lust and violence. Growing up, I find this very difficult to grasp. Unfortunately, Saturn encourages me to at least embrace the darker side of life. Although I try to stay on the positive side of life. Saturn wants me to see the flipside of it. The other thing is that I don't want to be sinned by God if I go to the dark side. I'm already feared that one day, God won't hear me if I pray for Him.

"I'm being sucked inside the 8th House gene pool...and there's no turning back. I have to learn how to deal with sex, money, evil, and death. I can't escape it because I was born with it. And I have to live through this for the rest of my life."

Hey hank,

everyone has to learn to deal with death, evil, sex and money. perhaps those with the 8th house emphasis have this lesson on a more conscious level than others.

for me, once i acknowledge these aspects of life, in honesty, i find intense joy, and also that i help others by being honest, and not afraid of the dark side, which is, after all only the shadow of god

i've never heard different religions associated with signs, but i have a sense that the 8th house is strongly connected to the sin-shame-redemption theology of catholicism. but strangely, it seems that when we lose our shame, often the desire to "sin" also passes. perhaps this is another 8 th house lesson, that self acceptance is a form of self improvement?

PROFOUND MELINDA PROFOUND!(CLAPPING).Yes but I think it is also noteworthy to say that *th house people have to deal, face and even make friends with the"darker side" that side which is considered taboo by society and should be kept hidden. The sun in 8th pesron has been endowed with longevity to know, understand and deal with deep pain and suffering.Throughout their lives, 8th house poeoiple come face to face with fear again and agian.Well, atleast I have. I have lived through testing situations and I feel as if there are still more to come.

hi all ^_^ sorry for the late response..
thank you for all your answers.. as an 8th houser myself, it's kind of fascinating to hear other 8th housers' experiences.. ^_^

Personally, I see 8th house as a protected house.. we are destined to drown into the darkness to know the true meaning of light.. we have to deal with the deepest human psychological issues, such as fear, shame, sex, relationships, death, regeneration, inheritance.. and we learn to deal with these things in a deeper manner.. and coz of this, it might make us feel alone and different from other people..
But even if our path/lesson seems to be hard and dark, what we have to learn is not to be lost in the darkness, but to find our own way to the light after dwelling in the darkness.

I've got a crush on a friend with his Sun, Venus and Jupiter in the 8th house. It aspects my Mars in his second, and my Moon in his 1st. Hmmmm, don't know him that way to know about his sex drive/preferences! Double hmmmm...and yikes!

I have my moon in the 8th and the only thing I can think of aspecting it from the second house is his asteriod Amor (while his valentine conjuncts my moon). His amor is the only thing that falls in my 2nd house, actually.

This is a very informative thread for me.

To take this a step further (or maybe off the path a little?) can we define ALL the differences between the 8th house and the 12th? Because intuitively, I've always felt connections between them beyond the water-house thing.

I haven't got one single planet in the 8th house, but I never fail to end up with Scorpios, or guys with tons of planets in the 8th or more recently, a Scorpio with a bunch of planets in the 8th including his Sun.

I feel like I understand the energy really well from the point of view of experiencing it through another person, but obviously not personally. I have a bunch of planets and asteroids in the 12th and so I do, of course, understand that energy deeply.

Further, my Solar Return for this year has my Sun, Mercury and Vertex all clustered together in the 8th, so I'm more interested than ever.

But what are the major differences and similarities of the 8th and 12th?

Hmm. Both the 8th and 12th house can involve self-surrender...in the 8th, transformation, the 12th, self-undoing...and both can involve secrets.

To me, the main difference is:
12th house: Escapism...losing yourself in the universe, illusion...freedom. Neptune.
8th house: Probing MORE deeply into reality...forcing yourself to face things...intensity. Pluto.

Just consider the differences between Scorpio and Pisces, and you've got the differences between the 8th and 12th houses right there.

8th house=personal unconscious
12th house=Jung's collective unconscious

8th house=intense, profound transformation through sexuality and mortality
12th house=transcendental spirituality

It's funny, I know that the 8th is generally seen/felt as more of a deeply transformational house than the 12th, but I wonder if there's more transformation going on in the 12th than we give it credit for?

Maybe it's a different type of transformational energy. While the 8th has that Scorpionic intensity to it, I have always felt that the 12th H's is more behind-the-scenes, secretive transformation, both qualities which we ascribe to that house.

But I do agree with:

<<<8th house=personal unconscious
12th house=Jung's collective unconscious

8th house=intense, profound transformation through sexuality and mortality
12th house=transcendental spirituality >>>>>

Maybe the difference is just the type of transformation. Hmmmmm.

Sure--in a way, any house can be deeply transformational. Someone with a 7th house stellium in Scorpio opposed to his Pluto in the 1st house, for example, would find 1st and 7th house issues to bring great transformation in his life.
