I have a virgo rising and sagittarius moon but can get over excessive worrying, negative thoughts and beating myself up. I have a Taurus sun btw.

hi there ^_^ I have Aries Sun/Moon/Mercury/Venus and Virgo ascendant as well, and even with all that fire, I also tend to worry a lot over small stuffs.. T_T But it could also be coz my Aries stellium is all in the 8th house..

Not at all, I have a Virgo ASC, and I have never had any issues with depression nor negative thoughts, and interestingly people have warned me being overly positive and optimistic!

Mutable energy in general can lend towards being critical in any arena. Mix it with a Taurus Sun, and the worry is likely about your own security I would think. Don't worry, you'll be fine. Taureans who don't get messed up with drugs generally do ok for themselves!

Comica23 - I like your placements

I have virgo ascendent I have enough aspects that keep me optomistic but I occasionally do worry.. but that goes right along with my Cancer Sun.. I can feel depressed but it wont genrally last very long.. or maybe it does and I just dont recognize..

Negative thinking can lead to depression.

But depression can lead to negative thinking.

Hmm... I know a Leo rising who has Saturn in Virgo in the first house. They worry excessively, with a capital E, about several first house and Virgo issues - themselves, their physical appearance, and their health.

I also know a Pluto in Virgo, squaring their sun, and they worry excessively about possible rejection (I think the main worry is the potential wounding to their ego, ie their sun).

I would describe both of them as getting depressed and overly negative about these issues. They both beat themselves up about things and there's a lot of self-criticism involved.

me too geminilover - i have a leo ascendant which conjuncts saturn in virgo in the 1st house and i swear it rules - as i get older, it's not so bad though. i think it was the "worse" from the ages of 14-29. i've battled confidence issues BIG time. my return is this year - i'll be 30 in december and feel great right now. i have my moments (the undercurrent) of worry, sickening nervousness, apprehension and depression which i hide very well and have learned to deal with. I also find studying a great source of relaxation and laughing is great medicine. i am constantly mentally correcting things i've said or done in the past - there is a sense of "righting" things. i think the saturn and virgo influence is more to do with being picky about things about ourselves like what we do and what we haven't done, why, how, when and all of that. it gives a feeling of "never enough". i have a fire asc, sun and moon. saturn in virgo's influence is so very strong but in penetrating spurts. i think feeling "never enough" works good for me. i'll sleep when i die. lol. btw - i corrected this post once already. let me get going before i find something else "incorrect" about it.

Wow Amisha... interesting, the person I know is always keeping themselves busy too - I think they might do this as a distraction from their immediate worries, but I'm not sure. They also have their Saturn return coming up sometime within the next year. Seeing as in a lot of ways they haven't really 'grown up' yet, I'm a bit concerned about how their Saturn return will affect them and I'm worried it'll hit them hard. With your own Saturn return being closer than theirs, you might have a better idea??

On second thoughts, my fiance is a terrible worrier! If I go out with my mp3 in my ears and I can't hear my mobile go off, I'll look down at my phone an hour later and they'll be loads of missed calls from him - once there was 19!!! Bless him - he gets himself into a state that I'm gonna be bumped off if I go out in the dark, lol!!! He does it with everything, now that I think about it - I'm gonna have to get him some KALMS!!!!!

He also needs to keep himself very busy, and has MAJOR OCD issues, lol! He's forever cleaning stuff that's already spotless and has very rigid routines for himself - very much a creature of habit, that one!!! Once - he even started to clean the bath while I was still in it!!!!! Drives me mad!!! Then again, I probably pee him off too, 'coz I'm proper clumsy!

If it helps, he's a Taurus Sun & Pisces moon as well. I agree with AG - this is one placement with which a Taurus Sun works well!!!

lol, t/g cusp. I act the exact same way. I can't stand dirt and when my things have been moved. Oddly enough I have a strange ability to detect when something has been moved, even an inch. I hate dirty ANYTHING. I refuse to shank anyone's hand without first knowing their grooming habits.
