I am a Virgo Sun, and in my experiencse with Gemini Suns (yes, other planets do play a part too but I am just interested in these two for now) I have found that our thought processes are very similar, and I have just noticed that it seems as if Virgo is the passive Mercury ruled sign and Gemini is the active one – possessing the same qualities but expressing them differently.

For example, we think the same things but a Gemini is more likely to say what he/she thinks whereas I wouldn’t, or I would be as confused about something as they are but a Gemini would show his/her emotion whereas I would seem as if I am not feeling anything, acting as if I am in control when I am not.

So, to me Gemini has always been the conduit to what I am feeling not opposed to what I am feeling. In a one-on-one situation, a Gemini is just like me, but say we are in a group, they would talk more than I would, but the things they talk about would be things I would talk about too if I felt comfortable enough to talk.

So my question is: how could these signs be considered to square each other when they are so similar?

hi unmoved,

Good point. The major difference in these two Mercury ruled signs is Virgo is negative (feminine) and Gemini is positive (masculine)

Notice how cynical and nit picky Virgo's can get. They dwell on minor issues.

Gemini is just not that deep, they don't really dwell on the small stuff. They're not that personal, before it gets to that point they're already on another subject.

Virgo being an earth sign gives great common sense where as in Gemini it's more theory.

Both signs have an exellent mental capacity for problem solving, just in different ways.

From what I have read, I think thats where the similarities stop. I have read that virgos are VERY routine oriented, love predictability, particular about things, and hate not knowing what is going to happen next. Those are all things that we Gemini's absolutely abhor.

I am a Gemini and I can't stand routine. I am NOT particular about things, I hate predictability, and am not overly pessimistic or skeptical.

This is my experience with most Virgos that I have encountered.

Thank-you for letting me know. I was just wondering why i ususlly identify more with Gemini than my own sign.

Well, maybe it is just me then, because I do not act like a Virgo in a typical sense, as in - I am not the neat freak that Virgos are supposed to be, in fact I am messy. Also, I hate appointments, schedules, and anything that makes me feel obligated to anything. The idea of routine sounds great but I think, I know... I'd get bored.

Right, so I think this is because of other planets then, that I exhibit Gemini tendencies because although I can be patient, I do not enjoy waiting. Actually, I am not patient at all, I can just be patient when I need to be.

But this does not mean I go flitting about either. If I find something I am passionate about, I can sacrifice a few things to be patient for its sake.
