Could someone please explain this to me? I understand trines, sextiles, squares - you get the idea. In my chart I have several planets that "don't aspect each other."

I had a psyches and eros report done for me and my husband, and it's my portion of the chart that I'm not understanding such as my "Sun does not aspect my Asc" and "Moon does not aspect Mercury."

Can someone please explain to me what it means when something doesn't aspect the other?

Thank you!!

Meenee ~

If one's Asc is at 15 Virgo and one's Sun is at 26 Gemini they do not make any major aspects (not counting any biquintiles or triseptiles or noviles or other minor aspects here ) -- ie, they are not within orb of being conjunct, sextile, square, trine, quincunx or opposed.

If one's Moon is at 2 Cancer and one's Merc is at 17 Scorpio, it is too wide for a trine (120 degrees) and not enough for a quincunx (150 degrees) or opposition (180 degrees) but is just right for a sesquiquadrate (135 degrees) -- part of the Squares family -- a square (90 degrees) plus a semisquare (45 degrees).....

Are you looking for an interpretation for when planets don't aspect one another?

Thanks Zala! That makes perfect sense. What do you do with the no aspects then? Do they still have a relationship? Good, bad, ugly? Do they just ignore each other leave a blank hole in your chart?

Acoustic, I'm just trying to wrap my brain around the "no aspect" bit so I guess I am asking for a bit of an interpretation. I can't find one at all online and none in any of the books I have either. Like my "sun (Aquarius) doesn't aspect my Ascendant (Taurus)" and my "moon (Virgo) doesn't aspect Mercury (Aquarius)."

Thanks for your patience in answering!!

Typically it's the aspect that causes there to be an interpretation. Like Sun Square Moon has been noted/observed thousands of times, and because of that the threads/attributes common to that aspect are applied to everyone having that aspect.

If there is no aspect, then whoever started these observations thousands of years ago probably didn't take notice. Even if they had taken notice, to give an interpretation would have required them paying particular attention to whatever aspect (whatever particular amount of degrees of separation) your Sun is making to your Ascendant, and noting what the common threads are.

There are things people can tell you about your non-aspect, though. For instance, by sign your Sun and Ascendant are Squared, which is usually a challenging aspect. However, because they are out of orb (either too far in excess of 90 degrees, or too deficient by degree to be considered square) your chart can incorporate these energies more harmoniously than the square would normally allow. Both of these signs being fixed means that both your inner nature (Sun), and your outward demeanor (Ascendant) have a fixed quality about them. At all times you may seem/appear to have a definite and stubborn (fixed) opinion on everything around you.

All of the rest of the interpretation would be more along the lines of the interpretations you probably already have for your Sun and Ascendant. Your Sun is airy and Aquarian, and your Ascendant is earthy and focused more materially.

Acoustic, thank you! That pretty much answered my questions about it.

So to take it a bit further, because my Aquarius is naturally curious, and my Virgo Moon needs to understand things from a basic level upwards - the combination digs much deeper to understand things. LOL Hence this very question.

Thank you again!

Your Mercury in Aquarius makes you think in unconventional, unique, and farsighted ways on it's own. An Aquarian mind should always have a fresh perspective.

The Moon signifies your emotional nature, so when it's combined with an analytical sign like Virgo the relationship gets kind of confused. The Moon wants to feel, but Virgo is all about critical thinking. Virgo puts the Moon's emotions under a microscope for study. As such a Virgo Moon may not feel quite as comfortable with emotions overall as other people do. This quality meshes pretty well with interpretations for Aquarius as Aquarians are seen as the most aloof sign in the zodiac.

Acoustic - that's about right! I'm more bound to ask questions than get all emotionally wrapped up in a situation. It drives my husband bonkers at times, but he loves me as is. Thanks again for taking the time to explain this to me!
