before I got fired I had saved up a G in cash  of course I had to blow it all eventually.. but saving a 1000 dollars for me at 19 is pretty good.. im usually a spendthrift.

Funny that youve started this particular thread  Sometime ago i also wondered myself why would my dear Librian guy be so tight with money...guess what? I remembered of picking up again Linda´s SUN Signs and there it was: his Cancer AC does pull him to be like that.
But she says its not in a way that "these people dont like to spent it on others",its more like they have a huge need and sense to autopreserver themselves for a possible future emergency. Tehy might say one day that they are without a niqquel,when in fact they might very well have some thousands in their banks - but for them - it will always be little if they somehow depare themselves to a "emergency cenario" of needing to spend that same cash. Then i finally understood this particular trait of him and I no longer tought that money was more important to him than me...its just their natural way of preservation. Linda did say they're the good type of cheap - she didn't say it like that tho! You know like...prefers to only buy the good quality stuff instead of wasting money on something cheap and/or unnecessary. IP: Logged |

Nope, I am a true Cancer and no I have no money because when I have it I give it away.
So this about Cancers I can guarantee does not apply to everyone.
Then again I am also NOT a lot of things Cancers are.

Thanks for the input. I really care for him and it has been a year now since we have been seeing each other. The only thing that irks me is the money thing. He has paid for a lunch for me one time. Otherwise we each pay for meals, movies etc... separately. I have never experienced this with a guy before. I thought it would be a little different by now. It concerns me because he asked me if I would like to get an apartment together this spring. I am afraid the money thing may make it worse on our relationship. He makes a lot more money than me. I dunno, maybe its me but I know if the tables were turned I would spend more money on him if I had it. IP: Logged |

Does it bother you when he wants to do expensive stuff that you can't afford? Or does he avoid expensive outings in his quest to save as much as possible? Do you think he is using money as a way of exerting or maintaining power or something?IP: Logged |

I'm a Cancer and a cheap a$$! I only spend when necessary.. My husband doesn't share this and spends every dime we have lol It's not easy my eye twitches a lot. lolIP: Logged |

I'm not saying they are cheap.... but a Capricorn can squeeze a penny so hard that it turns into a dime. I think it's a nifty little trick. I'm always looking for a deal.

ya, its a cancer thing!! my mom is one and she's been working in finance for the last 20 years. She's good when it comes to being cheap for acounting but for buying things for the family she is just plain cheap. I joke with my sister all the time and say when ever mom buys something beware its "Mom quality" It ends up braking, faling apart or ripping afterwards IP: Logged |

I have Moon conjunction Jupiter(both in Cancer) and I and far from cheap or stingy. On the contrary I am very giving, especially if one of my friends is in need...oh and don't get me started about playing Christmas angel.------------------

Well, I like to save money but I'm also generous. Cancers have a strong need to feel secure, emotionally but also when it comes to money. We need to know that we will always have food to eat and a roof under our head and we're afraid one day we'll be broke. That's why we're cheap. I do think I'm generous, much more than other people. I don't like to spend on things I know I don't really need, I'm very practical in that way.
My mom says I can stretch money and make it last!IP: Logged |

as a taurus sun with cancer rising...money is security to me. I don't need much to be happy but I need some stuffed in the bank to feel secure. I can see myself feeling uncomfortable and even restless when I'm broke...Also I'm actually very generous towards people I love...but I'll tell you I won't invest in the latest 'iphone'. lol IP: Logged |

Ascendant, Mars, Venus in Cancer and I can pinch a penny til it squirms and begs. BUT, being Leo, that is so that when I want to spend $300 on a jacket or hairdo, I can. I can be very generous but I do have to have the security of savings.
But the 2 in my family are very stingy and greedy with theirs. Lousy Christmas gifts I'd be embarrassed to give. They are a little less selfish with their kids but not much. They wouldn't give you $200 to save your life I don't think. One of them is VERY indulgent when it comes to things for the house, food, and eating out to the point she is always one step ahead of the hot check prosecutor. the Ruling Planet of my sun sign Cancer is the moon which is in Libra in the second house.. I dont generally buy cheap stuff.. when I buy something I usually pay alot.. but then again I dont buy all the time.. but if I find something that looks good that I like and it is cheap then im all for it.. but I wont intentionally look for cheap..IP: Logged |

well... i already described my mom, time for my dad. My dad is also a cancer opposite of my mom, If not for my cancer mom, he whould go out and buy something shinny or waste money studpidly. For example he just came back from his contract from sweden and now he wants to buy a waterfront property and an audi, without relizing how mush he spent while he was on contract. Then he'll go to my mom and say "What happen to all my money, i made so an so amount..." only to relizes he baught a lot of things that built up to a large expense But they can be giving when it comes to money thought my mom helped me set up an investor account so i can buy and sell stocks,I'm probibly the only college student that has a trading account. I'm glad they did that for me, i was able to increase my account and contribute more funds to my account. So ya two cancers ones cheap the other buys almost anything. IP: Logged |

The tightest person I know is a Cancerian. He's also still a spoiled brat!!! On the flip side, the most generous person on the planet (IMO) is my nan - also a Cancerian. I can't leave her place without money and/or gifts!!! She also gambles and is successful at it - especially when playing bingo or the fruit machines!!! IP: Logged |

HAHAHA, similar thing happened to me earlier this month. I made alot of charges on the bank card without realizing it and while I could've sworn I only spent 150 last week when it turns out I really spent 300 dollars. Goes to show why I should just WITHDRAW instead of using credit or debit all the time...I lose track of what I spend. IP: Logged |

One of my closest friends is a Cancer. Cheap is the last word that describes her...but she's frugal at the same time. For example, if I go shopping, I'm going to look for a deal so that I can get more. Her closet consists of one designer dress that cost her $1000! She only gets her hair done at salons that are WAY expensive, etc. She has excellent taste, but picks and chooses instead of spreading it thin! 8th IP: Logged |

I am a cancer and I also pick and choose and splurge on high quality things.
I am also a pretty generous person. However, I have been known to find envelopes of money in drawers and under beds that I stashed some rainy day long ago and had forgotten about.
But if I was dirt poor I really don't know how generous I'd be. I like to think I work hard for money so I can spend it with and mostly on the people I love. ------------------

Once again, we went out shopping and i bought a couple of dresses he picked out. Of course, he didn't want to buy them . Ironically, 2 couples in front of us were purchasing items and the guys whipped out their cards to pay. Believe me, I am not looking for a sugar daddy or anything like that. Its just that he never even offers. Its starting to really bug me. the stinginess may ruin this relationship but I don't know how to say anything to him about it. IP: Logged |
