What signs do you think have the worst characteristics? A friend of mine told me that Leos are the most loyal but I know some Leos and some of them are not loyal. People have said that Aries' are mean, but I am an aries and I am not mean. I guess that it does depend on the person and more in the chart then just the sun and moon. So another question would also be what planet (sun, moon, venus, mars, etc) really determines the relationships (family, love, child, etc.)?

Probably Venus. It can also determine relationship maturity.

But I think loyalty is more about the interaction between two people. One person may be completely loyal to a certain individual, and disloyal to someone else.

I can't avoid Sun Signs, because there are sinners and saints in all signs. I've said this before - look up serial murderers or rapists (or both) on wikipedia.. Every sign is represented. Likewise, if you look up something positive like Nobel prize winners - you will again, find every sign represented.
You don't know what a person is like deep down, until you get closer. Their sun sign alone doesn't say much about the nature of their character in life - love - and all else..

:edit:
The Sun sign (coupled with the rest of the chart) is the "style" imo - the most natural or instinctive manner for a person to take either positive or negative actions. But the "style" doesn't tell you whether they will take or - fail to take - a certain action.. This is up to their individual free will and freedom of choice.
For instance - the action of - mowing the lawn.. Take an Aries guy and a Libra guy.. They might mow the lawn with different equipment, in a very different way - starting at different ends of the yard etc..
But either of them can make the decision to mow or not to mow the lawn.. This goes for the action of cheating, rape, murder and all else.. We always have choices.. and your chart doesn't tell you whether or not you will do something - it tells you the *how*... *how* you walk down the street - as opposed to - whether or not you *will* walk to the market this afternoon.

Aspects that I've had problems with are Mercury square Moon and Mars square Sun.. I don't like these in synastry - but there is no way I'd run screaming from a new guy simply because we have those.. I'd get to know him.

Hmm, well it depends on what you want out of a close relationship I suppose. I would never marry an Aquarius, while I appreciate their individuality and independance, and I love them intellectually but the lack of an ability to connect emotionally is disturbing to me in a personal relationship. (of course, I am sure there are many aquarians who can connect, just haven't had one in my experience.)

Also, I will never date or marry a cancerian man. LOL. There are many threads about them one can peruse to see why. They are great for other people, but not for me.

Loyalty in the zodiac is hard to define altogether. I've been sitting here trying to write out how each Mode (Fixed, Mutable, Cardinal) approach loyalty, and it's difficult. There are significant differences in the way each of these types approach loyalty, but doing a good job of defining them concisely is a tough task.

Loyalty in the most-used sense of the word is a Fixed sign's domain. However, the alternative loyalties offered by both Cardinal and Mutable signs have their benefits as well. A Cardinal sign will always have an agenda, and will continuously press on and build despite all obstacles. A Mutable sign will support you to the end of the Earth as long as you continuously show that you care.

I don't think I would ever marry a Libra. They are too argumentative. We'd be like two cats on a clothesline. I don't think I could stand an Aries either and probably not a Pisces.

Well with all the Cancer placements in me I would have to say I would never marry or date a Virgo...because you never know where you stand with them relationship wise, and they are too fussy about the littlest things(they scare way to easy)...or and Aqua because they seem so emotionally detached and rather aloof, my idea of a romantic date does not include five of your closest buddies to join us.

Cancer placements shouldn't preclude a relationship with a Virgo. Those signs are compatible.

Mutables are critical, though, and I can see what you're saying about how easy they are to scare off. They require a bit of reassurance, but your loyalty pays off with their loyalty.

I know what you are saying AG, but it mostly comes from the fact that I was burned pretty hard by a Virgo once, since then the only kind of relationship with them I can have is purely friendship. Anything more than that, it just a doesn't work, they find me way to emotional(and eccentric) hence my Cancer placements. I am sure Cancer and Virgo can be compatible if one or the other has earth or water within their natal.

Im a cancer and although I have wanted virgos in the past I have come to realize that it prolly wouldnt be good for me in the long run.. I have my south node in virgo. and that is the path i need to let go.. so I think a Pisces woman would be better for my soul to evolve.. and plus my descendent is in Pisces so Im already naturally attracted to them. but I have been involved with a few pisces.. but it never seems to get anywhere and I dont know why.. i was actually kind of hurt by one pisces.. we were doing so well then she just pulled away.. and she was my definition of perfect.. so cute.. virgin catholic school girl.. who was non judgmental and openminded and had ambitions and depth to her.. I also new a different pisces but she was not the definition of perfect... it didnt work with either one.. no real strong feelings ever developed..
what is it with me and Pisces??? maybe is my ascendent opposing their sun... any suggestions?

I have no real preference, nor any real bias, but for the sake of this thread: Sagittarius.

No, you were right thinking that Pisces on your Descendant makes them attractive to you. Your ascendant opposite their Sun shouldn't be a debilitating issue.

I think you should keep the faith. Pisces might be right for you. Of course, that's no reason to cut yourself off from other signs. Different combinations = different results.

I think for myself
pluto conjunct moon in the 12th house(this dosen't have any thing to do with loyalty just with a character trait I really hate)
this seems to not be a wonderful sign in any chart from what I've seen, but He11 its not like I know every one with pluto conjunct moon in the 12th house
and maybe venus conjunct uranus
other than that every ones fare game with me, he he he

I guess I'd never marry anyone who isn't the sign of whom I actually end up marrying.

I cant predict that, and that's wayyyy to generalized to even consider. But some of you made some very interesting points here, esp. you Coral Frequency, I love your description of signs

Geminis and I don't click.

I find them too immature and they think I'm too strict and reserved. And I am. Around geminis I become very serious, they make me feel threatened.

I can safely say that I won't ever fall for one. Unless he's Paul Bettany.

I've had awful luck with my Cancer and IF inexpression is a characteristic of most Cancers...I wouldn't do well with them! I'm a Gemini and rarely am I through feeling something before I'm saying it! Crab's indirect, extremely cautious approach makes me batty!

I have an allergy to that word 'loyalty'.
What does it really mean?

I know it seemingly means sticking with someone through thick and thin...but why define that as 'loyalty'?
Isn't that what you do when you are a good friend, lover, spouse...
And its funny because it is only ever from the mouths of Leos that I hear that word.

A lioness I know says she's loyal but she is the one who people have to be 'loyal' towards.
She is such a big hand full and always has something 'big' to complain about (Virgo mooner?!)and more to the point none of her friends have ever given her something to be loyal about!!

I just say shes clingy.
So to me clingy is loyalty not proved!
And loyalty doesnt need to be mentioned and defined.
Its something to Be!

the topic is interesting - i have fire signs in my ascendant (leo), my moon (aries), and my sun (sagittarius) - i've never completely "settled" into that whole dating or marrying thing and I'm almost 30. Sometimes I wonder if that is for me. As long as there is something to make me keep moving, keep going - i'm fine but dating and marriage seem like things that a person would have to stop and assess, so i've dodged that quite successfully. Do you think it's because of all the fire?

I'd date any sign.

For marriage I'd guess: Virgo, Scorp, Sag, Pisces, or possibly Taurus.

Never again would I date a Pisces. And that is supposed to be the sign on my 7th house cusp. What a brutal marriage that was.

I got Pisces on my DSC too!
I attract them like flies on sh*t.
I want a strong man in my life though. At least my DSC ruler is in Capricorn [4th H].

Virgo.. although I have Virgo AC, I can't really get along with them, as I often take other people's critics personally, and Virgo can be too critical for me lol..

Capricorn.. I like them, but too much misunderstandings with this sign, and dunno why.. T_T
