I did some thinking, after having read about "love-ties" and "sex-ties" in an astrological book.
Unfortunately she didn`t really explain what those love-ties and sex-ties are except for the known Sun-Mars and Venus-Mars-aspects for the "sex-ties".

So I came up with my own conclusions; I`m referring here to midpoints, but I also think that they work in an aspect.

love-ties:

Sun / Moon
Sun / Venus
Moon / Venus
Moon / Jupiter
Moon / Pluto
Moon / ASC
Venus / Jupiter
Venus / Neptune
Venus / ASC
Venus /NN

Sex-ties:

Sun / Mars
Moon / Mars
Venus / Mars
Venus / Uranus
Venus / Pluto
Mars / Jupiter
Mars / URanus
Mars / Pluto
Mars / ASC
Mars / NN

Of course, some of those could be written into both areas. But as a guideline it helps.

While doing this I became aware of the fact that I seem to react very strongly to the Venus-Mars-midpoint.
In two synastries I did I found an exact dw of Venus / Mars = Pluto.
In those other synastries there was at least two of these planets involved in a midpoint picture like Venus/ Mars = Mars or Venus / Pluto = Venus. Or Venus / Mars = ruler of 7 (as a Venus-point).

Also, if I think about my last crushs, there was always a Venus-Mars-conjunction a Venus-Mars-parallel, Venus in 1st house, a strong Venus-Pluto or Mars-Pluto-aspect.
I guess, this is not a coincidence.

Did you have similiar experiences?

I just realized this morning that every one of my past relationships has moon/pluto or moon/mars contacts. Good thread! I will have to come back a little later and check out these midpoints especially!

Do you only look at conjunctions / oppositions?
I read that mp-astrologers also use square, semisquare and sesisquare. WEll, I am a bit hesitant to using semisquare and sesisquare, since I don`t use them in other charts either.
But the square could be notable in midpoint-interactions, too.
However, conjunctions and oppositions are much stronger, I agree. And if we include asteroids, we should limit the load of information, to not drown in it.

The balancing of yin and yang, in relationships or in yourself, seem to be a predominant theme in this life.

"My Ven/Mars MP conj his Venus 0 deg"
Wow! That definitely is a strong sign of sexual attraction. Do you feel especially drawn to him?

That seems to be highly passionate and emotional. It seems to me that a marriage or relationship needs to be both, nurturing and deeply passionate, so you can feel happy.

Are your Sun/ Moon and Venus / NN on one axis? It would emphasize the importance of relationships for you some more, I guess.

I have always found striking connections with the Love and Valentine asteroids in midpoints so I would add
Valentine and Love to these midpoints
Valentine-Juno
Valentine-Descendant
Love-Juno
Love-Descendant

again once strong connections have been established in the charts I would check the midpoints of asteroids and planets and angles and you will definitely see confirmation on the themes in the chart
so use name asteroids and all asteroids connected to relationships....union, eros, psyche, karma, osiris, isis etc...
especially asteroids prominent in your charts!

I do use all the aspects to midpoints. I know most astrologers only use the conj.,opposition, square, sesquiquadrate and semisquare but I believe a contact is a contact so all aspects provide information...especially when you get to the same degree contacts!

I don`t know the asteroid "love", where can I find it?

This one falls almost exactly onto my Sun-Moon-mp and is conjunct my Antivertex.

I basically agree, especially regarding the same degree contacts, but I like to focus on the real important informations, the strongest connections at the moment, and I really do think conjunctions and oppositions to midpoints are stronger than any other aspect, even though I noticed that there are often trines of planets to midpoints.

Diandra actually the one I have always used is 868 its "lova" and for me symbolizes love and lover at same time....if you go with pronounciation

I understand what you are saying but for all who are still learning and experimenting know that all your hard angles are your strongest contacts. With midpoints its about the contact the planet/angle/asteroid makes to the midpoint, so the fact its a square or an opposition for example does not mean the contact is a challenging one.It means you have a connection, bam!!
Like I said above once I have established the very theme of the relationship I include all the aspects...the universe provided them for a reason

I also looked up the asteroid "Liebe", since I`m German and know what it means. :P

Interesting: my "Liebe" falls onto 0° Sagittarius, on the midpoint of Amor and Valentine, and conjunct to both.
ROFL So, there are they all together, the "love"-asteroids.

Hmm, synastrically something just jumped out at me.

My "Liebe" is conjunct his NN and trine his name.
His "Liebe" is conjunct my Sun, Mercury, Robin and trine my Chiron and solstice conjunct my Venus.

I told you everything seems to take place at the GC on my Sun-Mercury-conjunction. The celtic asteroids are there, too.
The Egyptian seem to favour the solstice point on about 6 - 8° Capricorn though.
