Summer time or DST (Daylight saving time) is causing me trouble in calculating correct ASC. My friend was born in September 1961 in Amsterdam, NL. If I use "auto timezone" in astro.com, it is calculated as CEST = GMT +2. Now I have made a few searches on internet, it turns out that Amsterdam did not use DST between 1945 and 1976, even though DST was claimed to be used in Europe since 1916, which means the time zone they used then in 1961 is GMT +1. I am not able to confirmed this information in any source, but at least feel neccessary tovoice up that people who were born within this year and later in Europe should be aware of incorrect time zone.Anyone has idea about this? Please help. IP: Logged |

good morning summerdreamin the old days (before computer charts) we had to look up time changes but now they are automatically calculated. There were so many including a "war time" Astro.com has these changes already accounted for. trust your astro.com chart. here's some additional information http://www.trans4mind.com/personal_development/astrology/Calculations/calcGMT.htm IP: Logged |
