Any placements/aspects that might show that a person has been materially well-provided for by his parents? Venus OR Jupiter in the 2nd? 4th? 8th???I know Venus/Jupiter will do this too. I have the opposition and yes, I've never really been in want of cash... my parents paid for college, etc. I know a guy who has always had an ugly relationship with his parents, at least emotionally... but materially, he's never been in want. His parents are filthy rich. They spoil their children, who are now adults. Money/possessions always plopped into my friend's lap. They bought him a condo, for example. He's never had to work much to survive, but since he wants to stop feeling obligated to his parents, he's trying hard to support himself by other means. He's 27 now. I don't know his ASC, but he has Venus in Gemini and Jupiter in Virgo. Any ideas on the ASC/house placements? And if you want to talk about yer own experiences, feel free. IP: Logged |

I usually see someone as spoilt when they have been emotionally spoilt and babied their entire lives.. Picture Raymond's mother on Everybody Love Raymond.. I don't think finances always spoil a person.. It depends on the person. Is he of a European background by any chance? It's quite common in Europe for parents (specially if they are rich) to buy their children their first car and possibly their first house.. and also pay for college/uni etc. It isn't meant to be a negative thing though. It's kind of circular because the kid then grows up and does the same for his/her own children. It's a traditional family cycle thing I guess.. Still, he's 27!! Lol .. It usually ends before 27 I'd say.. It reminds me of 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding', where she is 30 and they buy her a house after they get married.. except the house is right next door to them Astrologically, maybe a well placed and well-aspected Venus.. like a Taurus Venus, making a sextile or trine to Saturn. My sister and I come from a family where the kids are generally "spoiled." We were both bought cars and my sister's first condo was bought by my parents; she currently has a job but she does take money from my parents as "gifts." I might have gotten a condo too if I hadn't moved to New York for a job in finance. My sister and I both have Scorpio Moons, but that's all we have in common. She has a lot of Libra in her chart though; her sun is Libra as is her ASC. She used to model for print ads in Japan and always dated guys who had money. She isn't a gold-digger but she does prefer to be wined and dined. The difference between us is she likes being taken care of and pampered. I rather hate taking money from my parents, especially at this age. Oh, she's older than I am, btw. Something of note is culture. Our father is Iranian and in Iranian culture this sort of spoiling is very common. We have cousins who still live with their parents and haven't worked a day in their lives. We all did well in school so it's weird that most of them aren't doing anything with their lives. Most of them travel and shop. How is one to develop if they don't have goals? IP: Logged |

I've got Jupiter in my second house and I've had to work extremely hard to earn everything I have. My parents wanted to pay for college, buy me a house and a car, but they never had the means to do so. Fortunately, with this placement, I've always been able to find just enough money at the last minute to pay my rent, pay for school, etc. My friend is incredibly spoiled- she has a very prominent pluto and venus in her chart. I'm spoilt: Venus conj Mars in the 2nd (money) sextile Jupiter in the 5th (presents) trine Moon conj Neptune (R2) in the 11th (benefactors)... I do the same for my little niece, I love spoiling her P.S. it is very typical for Slavic cultures too IP: Logged |

Venus in Taurus in the 9th here.Definitely not spoiled by my mom, even though I'm her only child (Saturn sq. Moon, perhaps). However, I was the apple of my grandparents eye. Virgo uncle, and cousins were jealous. Spoiled by my dad (after age 17). He spoiled all his kids (He's a Leo/Scorp/Taurus Asc). I lived w/ him until I was 27 years old. IP: Logged |

Thanks for all your responses, old and new ones. Sowry, this is belated.CoralFrequency: He is Chinese-American. As far as I've seen, Chinese parents tend to emphasize work at a young age, so his financial situation is quite atypical and lucky. But yeah, dude's aware of his friggin dependency. Hopefully, he'll get it together. Libraschoice: I don't know about money, but you have Jupiter in the 12th like my best friend. Luck tends to swoop in when you least expect it. Sarai: Where is your Jupiter and what aspects does it make? Everyone else, it's true---2nd or 4th house Jupiter seemed like probable candidates. I know ppl with 4th-house Jupiters who have big houses and whose parents took very good care of them as children. Astra: How's yer Mars? I figured that my friend's Jupiter is in his 2nd house and found out that this was indeed correct. Saturn also sits in his 2nd, which should have a contradictory effect. In spite of the influx of money, he may feel compelled to work hard for his own income, in case the initial source gets cut off. His financial situation also has a heavy effect on his self-worth. Hermes: That makes a lot of sense, since 9th house represents grandparents. I have 2 friends with 9th-house Venuses. In early childhood, they were raised by their grandparents in the absence of their own parents. Very interesting. IP: Logged | |
