I'm sure some of you have noticed that my focal point of interest with astrology is how it affects appearance. Fascinating!

Anyway, what are your experiences with moon signs and physical appearance? Your own and others.

I've heard that the moon sign relates to the eyes.

Maybe, since the moon represents emotions, this could work - the eyes could show emotional energy. What do you think?

Edit: To illustrate, I'm a Scorpio moon and it's been said to me that my eyes have an intense look to them. My eye colour is hazel green, as a side note. My bf is an Aries moon, and I see fire and excitement in his eyes. His eyes are amber - very unusual and firey. Neither of us has seen our our eye colours in any other members of our families, so our colouring is unexpected. We both also have Uranus aspects to our moons, so that could represent unusual or unexpected eye colours. Maybe.

I don't think the Moon affects your looks.

How about the way aspects of your looks reflect emotional energy though?

Gemini, that is funny that you say that because my moon is in scorpio and I have hazel eyes and my husband's moon is in aries and he has brown eyes. Funny cause I'm an aries with moon in scorpio and he is a scorpio with moon in aries.

AG...agreed with the exception of Pisces. They often take on their moon sign traits. (We're obnoxiously evasive, aye? )

Could be a possibility with all mutable signs...haven't really looked into that.

Based on looks, I frequently have people think I look like a Gemini...or say that I look like people who are Gem suns. My moon's in Gemini...

Wow, the Aries/Scorpio combination must be intense! My bf and I don't have sun/moon, but we do have moon/Jupiter (My moon in Scorpio, Jupiter in Aries, his moon in Aries, Jupiter in Scorpio - we have a LOT of fun, lol).

I'm Scorpio moon as well and I always get "your eyes are intense" from people. My eyes are a dark brown; my sister has Scorpio moon as well and she has blue eyes.

AcousticGod: I think that the Moon doesn't overtly affect one's appearance, but I do think it plays a role. Not in everyone, I'm sure, but in certain signs the Moon can be obvious.

I wonder what a Pisces-Scorpio Sun/Moon combination (or viceversa) would bring out.

When guessing someone's sign, I usually pick up the moon

tho not based on looks but mannerisms

you can tell a leo moon a mile away just by the way they walk...or is it strut?

My eyes are hazel, too. Blue and green. I don't know that they look particularly Virgoan versus anything else.

They are a little messed up/uneven shape-wise these days. One, my left, always opens more than my right. Just this morning I was asked what's wrong with my eyes. I think it was just that it's [the difference is] more pronounced in the morning. I don't know that everyone always consciously picks up on the uneven openings of my eyes in person, but when I've posted pictures here it's been picked up on numerous times.

Could the sign of the Moon indicate mannerisms? Like, a Scorpio moon is considered "intense," but could it be because Scorpio is a fixed sign? Would moon in Aquarius also be somewhat intense because it's a fixed (Air) sign?

Fixed: Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, Aquarius
Cardinal: Cancer, Capricorn, Aries, Libra
Mutable: Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, Gemini

If sign modality has any bearing on mannerism (or appearance), it would mean that Fixed Moons come off generally focused and intense, Mutable Moons, playful and energetic, and Cardinal Moons as direct and honest.

I don't know... just thinking aloud.

AcousticGod: Is that a lazy eye? I know a little kid that has one and it's actually really cute.

What's usually called a lazy eye is an eyeball that lacks muscle control or something like that. My issue would have to do more with my eyelids.

I'm not at home, so I don't have access to all my pictures. I do have some in photobucket, though.

Last Christmas/birthday
Sorry it's so big.

It's BARELY noticeable. I only see it because you pointed it out.

What are your placements?

Sun and Jupiter in Capricorn (8th)
Moon in Virgo (5th)
Mercury, Venus, and Neptune in Sag (7th)
Mars in Scorp (6th)
Pluto and Uranus in Libra (5th and 6th)
Saturn in Gemini (1st)
Ascendant in Gemini

I could replace the picture with a better one showing the difference if you like. It's also a huge picture.

That's my youngest [Aqua] sister.

I've always thought you looked like a Libra Moon Acoustic.

I think it affects facial expression or looks in some way.. because I'm always more likely to guess someone's moon than anything else.. though usually I don't know it's their Moon.. I think it's their Sun or Asc.

It happened just the other day actually, in the picture Belgz posted - I guessed Virgo with a Scorpio Asc.. but his Moon was Scorpio.

I'm not so sure about that ... I have a Leo Moon (and it's also in the 5th house, so it can't get any more Leo) and I don't look very Leo-like. I have been told that my hair is really pretty, but that's about it. I think my appearance stems mainly from my Sun and Ascendant, maybe to a lesser extent also from my Venus.

However, I have to say that I usually do pick up people's Moon signs (or at least the element of their Moon). But I don't think that this has much to do with the Moon affecting their appearance. It's more a feeling I get ... it's hard to explain. The only Moon sign I can actually "see" is Pisces ... don't know why though.

i have taurus moon and i've always heard we are usually chubby. i am very rounded but not really chubby, though i do gain weight extremely easily. i also have very big sturdy bones which feels taurean to me, though i'm not sure why.

Heartcakes, that's interesting. My Taurus moon friend is very slender. She has curves but they aren't apparent... it really depends on what she's wearing.

You know, I don't really know what the defining traits of Taurus moons are. What do you notice about yourself?

hi sarai,

i dunno, i'd just heard that several times. if i eat bread, say, two days in a row, i will gain 5 pounds just like that. it's really weird. but i tend to be able to lose weight pretty easily too. i am very curvy, even though i am "average" on the weight scale for my height (135, 5'9")- very thin wrists, large upper arms, same for calves, thighs, etc. i guess this might be called 'voluptuous'? not sure. and usually, my thighs, hips and belly are a bit more chubby than the rest of me. could also be moon in 4th there. not sure. hope that helps!
