Hi guys,I just realized that someone who's life I've been watching closely for more than decade has no natal Saturn aspects whatsoever, and his life is totally out of control and has always been. When he was a young man, it was not so clear as so many young people are reckless, but he's now in his 40's... :-( His has Saturn in Aries in the 2nd house. I'm sure there are other factors contributing to his total lack of discipline (no schooling, no jobs, traveling around, living off of other people, having big plans and changing them the next day), but I'm sure his aspectless Saturn has a LOT to do with it. Similar experiences anyone? (I myself have a very heavily placed Saturn). IP: Logged |

Yes. I know someone with one very minor aspect to their natal Saturn (also in Aries), and they lack discipline... or something. They're on a good path to getting an awesome career, however, but that path has been very plodding and distracted. They don't always face their responsibilities either. However I also know someone with a lot of Saturn aspects and they haven't gotten anywhere career-wise or financially, they've drifted a lot and gotten no formal education... there have been many false starts and then drifting off. The desire is there but the practicalities of it seem to falter. IP: Logged |

So, what qualifies as a "Saturn" aspect in relation to this thread? Do you have any birth data? What are the "orbs" you're using for your consideration of what "saturn" aspects there are? What EXACTLY are the aspects that you consider relevant in the "style" of astrology that you prefer? I'm sorry...is my own sun/mercury/saturn parallel pissin' anyone off yet?

Well I don't know about the original poster, but I'm referring to aspects from other natal planets to the natal Saturn. IP: Logged |

Any aspect from the other natal planets to Saturn qualifies as Saturn aspect in this thread. (I did his chart on astro.com, no Saturn contacts, not even any minor aspects).Yes, a heavy Saturn is also very problematic. My point in this thread is that usually people who are into astrology feel grateful for a Saturn without many aspects, but as far as my example goes, the balance even in this would perhaps be better. Of course, other factors play a role as well, just as in everything in astrology. IP: Logged |

So there IS some truth to a karmic reward, huh? *laughs*Does he have any Earthly signs in his chart? Oh gee, I wonder what happened to him when he had a Saturn Return... Lana, I find it so funny that you are a very Saturnine person because that is what I was exactly thinking. Usually people devoid of one element or influence attract people who have a ton of it. I am surprised he hasn't yet taken advantage of learning this for himself!

Saturn in Aries: Saturn shows where we feel UN-safe and IN-secure. Its sign position shows what we absolutely must have to feel security and safety. In Aries, that means initiative. The worst thing you can say to a Saturn in Aries person is " Sit there and wait; I’ll take care of it". They will climb the walls. Waiting on line is another thing that they absolutely cannot stand. Does anybody like to wait on line? Not really, but hey, it happens. So get over it, right? Not for a Saturn in Aries person. To feel safe and secure, they must have the initiative. Saturn in Aries is prone to headaches and problems with the teeth, especially the upper teeth. Saturn in the Second House: can work out in three different ways. First, there are those for whom enough is never enough. They tend to become rich in money, but they have to watch out not to miss out on life’s other pleasures. Second are those who value security and protection above all else. They frequently gravitate towards "secure" jobs in the civil service or with large corporations (although the downswing movement has changed this). The third group gets depressed and gives up. This last alternative is to be avoided.Stephen Arroyo points out in his book "Relationships and the Life Cycle" (I highly recommend it) that Saturn shows what we regard as "important", so important that we try to control it. So important that we get nervous and fearful and frequently blow it. In the second house, the important thing for Saturn is money. If you can work through your fears (Saturn) you will find that your sense of self worth is ultimately more important.

This is an interesting topic, it's funny cause I have a Saturn that isn't really aspected either, and when I was younger I was the same way...I had no real focus or grounding, or more like no discipline within my nature. Unstable could have been my middle name. But now that I've gotten older my concentration on my goals are much more defined than when I was say 21. It also would depend on the placement of Saturn in the natal which house it occupies...as to how the person lacks discipline.------------------ Sun in Libra Moon in Cancer Jupiter in Cancer Venus in Virgo Mars in Cancer Ascendant in Cancer "I seem to have the blind self-acceptance of the eccentric who can't conceive that his eccentricities are not clearly understood" IP: Logged |

Patisserie, does my Saturn really come through so strongly? ;-)(I have Saturn in Pisces on the 8th/9th house cusp in exact opposition with my Sun/Uranus conjunction in 2nd house). You are right to ask about earth signs. The only thing even resembling earth in his chart is Pluto in Virgo... That most probably contributes to his recklessness as well. Mama Mia, I was basically talking about the lack of aspects, not placement or sign. The lack of Saturn aspects is something that stands out. Thanks for your insights :-) IP: Logged |
