Recently in conversation, someone tried to convince me that the expected date of your delivery was the "more" proper time to create a natal chart than the date of your actual delivery.I know my own delivery was 10 days later than expected, and as such it makes some significant changes to my natal readings. It makes me curious. Regardless, I have never heard such a thing, and find it a bit incredulous; so I wonder if anyone has heard (or professes themselves) a similiar view. If so, why? What would be the importance? IP: Logged |

Thats one of the most stupidest things I've ever heard. You are born the day you are BORN, there is no importance other than you decided on the day you were born to come into this world and NOT the other day.I have enough issues with most asteroids and other BS people dig out of thin air, this just cuts the cake. Ummmmmmm.....why are asteroids BS??? In Devil Advocate's perspective:
Most of the scientific community, academic community, and mental health community professionals believe that Astrology is BS. There is very little scientific evidence to support the validity of Astrology. that's the same thing with metaphysical, psychic, paranormal phenomena but that doesn't mean that those things are BS. I feel the same about asteroids in Astrology. IP: Logged |

oh yeah....I was born 2 1/2 weeks early...mom even said 1 month early23 hour labor(induced) born the day before, I could have Moon in Aquarius and not Moon in Pisces, but I was meant to share same moonsign as my father and maternal grandfather. I believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe that being born at a certain time happens for a reason and reflects our lessons that we learn in this life.

Merry Christmas!Yes, I was 23 days late - supposed to be born on May 31 and instead I procrastinated until June 23rd. This was back in the good old 70's before inducing labour was as common as it is today. I think we're born exactly when we're supposed to be born and the day we were originally "due" has nothing to do with it.

According to several books I have read - they say that your Delayed Birth happens because of your previous soul's Karma. The soul really does not want to be born with the expected chart - and wants a different journey. Sounds fishy but interesting! As far as I have seen charts of premature babies, I have seen the exact characteristics in them according to chart and not the expected delivery date!IP: Logged |

My mother gives birth early. My lil brother was supposed to be pisces but he's aqua, my sister was due late aug but she's a Leo and I was about about 4 weeks early...guess I really wanted to be pisces - but it came at a price as I carry strong aries energy which seriously undermines the starry eyed pisces-ness...makes me think what's the point...a pisces that's unpiscean? I feel like a blind painter or a disabled dancer - explains my bitchiness tho IP: Logged |

Expected delivery dates are approximate usually based on when you last had your period. So the rationale of this theory escapes me somewhat. Putting my head on the block I'll guess it derives from a dislike of medical intervention in pregnancy bordering on the irrational. IP: Logged |

This is what I'm talking about ~ am I really cynical or is the theory being adapted to fit someone's moral prejudices? ................................ http://www.elysian.co.uk/askastrologerarchives3.htm# "If a person is born prematurely, does it affect the sun sign they should use in drawing up their horoscope?"
Well, for a start, the sun sign is not the be all and end all of astrology; as explained elsewhere it is but a small part of anyone's total astrological make-up. Therefore being one sun sign instead of another is really neither here nor there. Most astrologers, myself included, believe that a soul itself decides when the moment is right for its birth, be that 'when due' or early, or late. Therefore premature or late births are entirely correct in the astrological scheme of things, and that baby's astrological inheritance is entirely right for him or for her - 'due dates' are for adult convenience only, and really have no bearing on astrology. The issue of spontaneous (as in not induced or surgical) birth versus caesarean or induction is an interesting one. If we take the belief stated above that the child's soul chooses its time of birth, then where does that leave the souls of little ones who are denied that choice? Well, the difference in my experience seems to stem from the reasons behind the surgical birth. If it is an emergency caesarean, as in the birth of my own daughter, where the child may well not have survived without that intervention, then we take that as being the 'right time' for that child's birth, and treat it exactly the same as a spontaneous birth, even if it is very premature, as my daughter's birth was. On the other hand, if the surgical birth is chosen for the convenience of the mother and/or hospital staff then clearly the issue of the soul's own choice no longer applies. In this case, it is true that there may be a very slight anomaly in the child's personality, perhaps best described as wearing a shoe that it slightly too big. As most 'elected' surgical births take place quite close to the 'due date' in any case, however, the anomaly is so small as to be insignificant - the differences in the astrological chart the child is born with and that which it might have chosen for itself will be outweighed by the child's life experiences, and he or she will grow up to be entirely comfortable with his or her astrological inheritance after all. .................................. What if yours is a borderline case and the doctor decides a section is the wisest option (so s/he doesn't get sued) and you decide to go along with it (not knowing s/he is really thinking about the hospital budget)?
