Being a Scorpio myself I've heard of that Scorpio stare myth, and I've enjoyed listening how it intrigues and mesmerizes others. I've never been on the other side though until last week. I've met a male Scorpio, with Venus/Mars conjunction in Scorpio as well. Must say, it was something else! He was scanning me. Jeez..Strange fact, the whole thing felt really uncomfortable yet incredibly sexy.

Now, problem is being a Scorpio myself, I know the stare doesn't mean all that much. At least not for me. It's just observation. It doesn't necessary mean attraction. Wish it was though. Hmm.

I've always been told I have a piercing gaze. I've got Scorp rising so I suppose that has a lot to do with it.

I have known a lot of Cancer suns to have an intense stare.

Am I the only one who doesn't mind the stare? I don't have anything to hide.. let alone my sexuality so they can stare till the break of dawn.. as far as I'm concerned. They won't find anything that interesting lol

I like Scorps as ppl but I've never been attracted to one. I had a Scorp friend in high school and we used to have starring competitions. I'd always laugh first lol

Well, I'm a Scorpio, of course I have secrets I dread people finding out. I'm not that open when it comes to my feelings, especially to complete strangers. I've never been attracted to another Scorpio either, so I couldn't understand the thrill, but there's a first time for everything I suppose.

One thing is for sure, I now realize how and why some people feel very uncomfortable around me.

Personally, I really don't see why people get so uncomfortable around Scorpios. If anything, I have noticed that they mingle in quite the playful manner (or in a more "painful" playful manner.)

Pinches, Nudges, you name it Lol! And they seem to do it with an ernest delight. Well... Female Scorpios anyway.

Fire moons can have that stare, and are often mistaken for Scorpios or Scorpio moons, especially the Aries and Leo moons, even on soft Pisces and Libras.

My best friend is a Sag, Scorpio asc., Leo moon. Her stare can be downright scary. I've always been intrigued by the Scorpio stare and step right up to it. This Cancer's not looking away and have always met (though never beaten) any ol' Scorp in a staredown!

Hahaha... I have Scorpio rising and an Aries moon as well. I was once told that I have a great "evil eye" and many people have told me that I'm scary looking when I get mad because of my eyes. However, on the flip side, my eyes are one of my best features and I get complimented on them quite a bit.

As for Scorpios themselves... Most of them have unique eyes, in the very least, even if they don't have the stare. However, most of the Scorpio females I've known do use the stare to their advantage when they're angry. The Scorpio guys I've known also tend to use it to their advantage when they're interested in someone. Not always of course, but much of the time they will.

Scorpios have never scared me, stare or not. I've had a lot of Scorpio friends in the past, and actually I joke that they think I'm one of them because of my Scorpio rising. I really like Scorpios actually. A lot less BS with them than with many other signs. They're very to the point, and I love that.

Interesting topic...

I have the stare too. I've been told many things about it, but as someone said earlier, it usually doesn't mean anything.
I find myself looking at people out of the corner of my eye or not at all just to keep myself from throwing any "looks" that are almost always misunderstood. It's just us observing things, not trying to terrify or seduce someone purposely!

What kinds of reactions do you all get when you find yourself staring?

What's your favorite scorpio quality? Personally, I love my stare for when kids get out of hand or someone ****** me off, I just have to look at them and they shrivel. So I like having it.

What do other people like about being or knowing scorpios?

I love Scorpion loyalty and conversation.

My very closest friend and family are Scorpios. After spending a good, long while with one and having a long, meaningful, intense conversation, I feel so incredibly 'special'. I can't even describe it. I have left in tears because of the intense joy and love that the person made me feel - just from a conversation over coffee :*)

There's just no better feeling

I have Venus in Scorpio and I remember being at a beauty shop getting my hair done when I was ~6 years old & hearing the beautician who was doing my hair tell someone that I had "bedroom eyes". The other person agreed... My mother never did explain, to my satisfaction, what that meant....but I KNOW now....
When I'm looking deeply (staring)I'm not trying to turn someone on...I'm simply LOOKING into the situation.

BLKFox, I know what you mean.

My Venus is in Scorpio too. I get compliments all the time about my eyes and their 'gaze' - ESPECIALLY when 'in the mood' :P

I'm a Taurus sun w/ Aries Moon and I've got the stare. But it's not a sexy turn someone stare its a dirty look. If I look too long at someone they say "What?" "What have I done now?" And I don't do it on purpose. Sometimes I'm just daydreaming and I get accused of giving dirty looks.

Scorpio rising, Aries Moon.

In my opinion, I think my eyes look rather vacant, but people have said that I've got a scowl like none other when I'm peeved, lol.

About a month ago, I was asking the hostess at P.F. Changs how long the wait for a table was going to be. She was very pleasant to me and answered, "About 45 minutes," and gave a really warm smile. I smiled back and she was beaming for some reason. I turned to my friend and told her the wait was going to be about 45 minutes, the hostess shot her a look like, "Ew, who the hell are you? And what are you wearing?" I caught her from the corner of my eye, and automatically turned my head in her direction with such alacrity and shot her a "stare," she looked really frightened. Even my friend told me to calm down when we sat down...just 5 minutes later because I was ready to leave! And mind you, I don't throw scenes in public, I just looked like I ready to leave, lol.

I kinda wish I didn't have the eyes/stare though. Like I said, I think my eyes look rather vacant, but everybody tells me otherwise...so misunderstood sometimes

I can totally relate to that ciao.

I've had similar experiences that I couldn't believe how misunderstood I was. About a month ago I went with a friend to her tenants to help with the translation since she couldn't speak English very well. Anyway, my friend was very unhappy with them, and I felt really uncomfortable translating all her complains, but I did it nonetheless. I was doing my best be as kind and not to get involved in the whole deal. Turns out when I left, the woman I was talking to, told my friend that I had "mocking mean eyes". I couldn't believe how someone could read me so wrong.

As for my stares being misinterpreted for flirting it has happened to me, and with people I had no intention of flirting, ever. So I am trying to avoid it - even though 99% of the times it's done unintentionally. It's just awkward when married guys think I have a thing for them.

Which is why this guys stare is exciting and disappointing me at the same time. If I wasn't a Scorpio myself I'd be sure he was checking me out, but now..I can't know. lol

As for fire signs stares, they're equally charming, but not disturbing in any way I think.

Really? Well how about Christopher Walkin?

Ok, yes so I kinda exaggerated his stare. That image is taken from the movie "Sleepy Hollow" where he played the Hessian Horseman and he did wear contact lenses, but the man's stare is hard... And I mean HARD!

LOL Xodian! Who can beat Christopher Walken?

What I meant was that fire sign stares -from the people I've met anyway - have a very honest look about them. They show exactly what the person feels. Scorpio stares have a mystery. It's supposed to have this evil power to seduce and paralyse from fear at the same time. Sounds like I'm talking about cobras.

I also remember people telling me that my stare made them feel uncomfortable..as if I could see right thru them.
A friend of mine sd she thought I was being seductive whenever I simply LOOKED at people.

Right before I found Linda's Love Signs and got interested in astrology, "the stare" is what got me involved with a Scorpio Rising. I thought the intense energy meant he was a soul mate and that "he was the one!" (in the close to most immature meaning those words can possess).

I don't even know why I "said" that. I can't really "end" the thought... like with "but I was wrong!" or something similar because it's my past and "wouldn't change a thing" and "made me who I am today" and all that yadda yadda. A lot of times I just post it and assume everyone knows all the above "yadda yadda" and etc etc
