Okay, vertex experts. Spill it. How does it figure in the natal chart? How do you analyze the vertex in synastry?Sarai IP: Logged |

Hi Sarai,Vertex - Sensitive point in Natal Chart. Karma. You can't escape events when it is "activated". From my experience and experience of ppl I know, it is point where something or somebody is "entering" or "exiting" our life. It teach us something. Most strongest activation is when Saturn or Lunar nodes conjuct or oppose it (anti-vertex) or if eclipse is occuring on that point. In synastry, it is strong indication of connection between two ppl, even on astral level. YOu both have karmic debts to each other in this life. I hade double vertex-AC conjuction with my Ex. It, of course does not guarantee anything, it is about karmic debts. Vertex-AC/DC/MC/IC/Saturn/NN/SN are strongest connections in synastry. Anything special that occured in my life was when North Node or Vertex were involved. Transits are only transits, it can be something or not, but when are Nodes and Vertex activated, you can't escape that. K. IP: Logged |

kindjali,That was awesome, thank you!!! Now, it begs the question: How do I calculate the vertex in synastry? S IP: Logged |

I agree with NN/SN.. I had major karma with a person who has NN at 20 Taurus.. and SN at 20 Scorp.. My Vertex is at 20 Scorp.. and my Anti-Vertex at 20 Taurus.Sarai, at astro.com - in 'extended chart selection'.. you can select the Vertex and it will show up. IP: Logged |

Thx Sarai Go to www.astro.com like Coral said. I wanted to say that when I examined events in mine and others chart, Nodes and Vertex are both karmic. Only difference between them is in "activation". Vertex is activated when BIG planets + Nodes conjuct it or oppose it (anti-vertex). SN and NN are activated when THEY make transit and conjuct planets. I think that progression planets transiting NN and SN can make same effect, but not when transiting planets do that. K. IP: Logged |

Kindjali,Great info. I currenly have my progressed true node and sun at the exact same degree...to the second. Both are 6.55 Taurus in the 6th. Do you count progressions as being important when conjuncting eachother? (My natal True/North Node is 7 Taurus in the 7th.) Sarai...here's a link I thought was good. Scroll to the bottom of the webpage for Vertex. http://groups.msn.com/HOROSCOPESCHAT/angles2.msnw 8th IP: Logged |

8moon ,You gotta look whole picture. First of all you look at transits, then progressions. Then you look Nodes and Vertex. When all have some "activity" there is definetly something going on. Sun-NN progressive conjuction...What aspect they make to Natal planets and other progression planets? Sun-NN progressive conjuction can last for months. K. IP: Logged |

As for North Node:I agree that, generally speaking, transits to one's natal NN are not necessarily indicative of something whereas transiting NN on one's personal planet (or house) is more consistent. I will mention, however, that the day I met my ex, transiting NN was conjuncting my Valentine asteroid and transiting Valentine asteroid was conjuncting his NN. Also, Moon was exactly conjunct my South Node. Funny. So, just because of that I can see how there are times when a transiting planet or asteroid will sometimes affect one's natal Nodes As for Vertex (since that was a brief digression) on the same day I met my ex, I had transiting Vertex conjuncting my Neptune (in the 7th) and my own name asteroid and Eros conjuncting my natal Vertex. On the day my ex broke up with me, I had Lilith conjuncting my Vertex and he had NN conjuncting his Anti-Vertex. On both the day we met and the day we broke up, my ex had transiting Psyche conjunct his Vertex. It's definitely a very sensitive point, but it's hard to define how each transit may or may not take shape. Hindsight is 20/20 (ie -Vertex conjunct Neptune - ha ha.) IP: Logged |

Oh - I forgot to add the stuff on synastry. The reason why it's interesting that my ex had the Psyche transitis to his Vertex is that in synastry, his Psyche conjuncts my Vertex. Kind of opposite, but still odd. His Vertex conjuncts my Juno. I still have no idea what that means...I used to think it might mean that we would get married (since I also have my NN conjunct his Sun and Juno) but that is not the case. I also have my Valentine asteroid conjunct his Anti-Vertex. ??? I'll throw 'em out there, but that doesn't mean I have a clue IP: Logged |
