I don't know what's wrong with me. I feel so utterly desolate - empty inside and I'm completely at a loss to explain why I'm feeling this way. I don't really have anything to moan about - so many people are so much worse off than I am and I feel terribly guilty for being so ungrateful. My state of mind is shocking at the moment.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could take a look at my transits or progressions maybe? Anything that might show a little insight into why I'm feeling so dark all of the time - I just want to get back to my old self. Thank you.

Before even looking at your chart I wondered if you are suffering from depression? You don't need a reason. Also, although SADS (Seasonal Affective Disorder) might sound like a media joke, I think there is some truth in it. We never got a proper summer last year, and now it is raining constantly again. Maybe you need a sun intake. Just a thought, I'm not a doctor. Don't suffer in silence though, if you think yours might help go and see her/him.

Your Progressed Moon is at 15 degrees Sagittarius, separating by 3 degrees from a Conjunction to Uranus. It was exact at the end of November. That doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun, (your emotions hitting unsettling Uranus), but you are coming out of that now.

Sorry, got to go, hopefully someone else will come along and look at something else. Nothing really tough is jumping out at me.

TGC .. re:
* I don't know what's wrong with me. I feel so utterly desolate *

( a quick look without birthtime )
looks like a combination of transiting saturn and transiting chiron ..
the 'exact' transit at the moment is transiting Saturn ( R ) squaring your N.Node
and transiting Chiron is squaring the midpoint between your natal Saturn and natal Mars
( and btw. today the moon is squaring your natal mercury )

when transiting Saturn was at the end of Leo and just about to enter Virgo ..
it was squaring your Sun ..
then as it moved into Virgo it squared your natal Chiron then your N.node ..
at the moment t.Saturn is retrograde and moving back over those same placements
Saturn moves back to 1 degree Virgo by may this year .. then it resumes direct motion

transiting Neptune is building up to square your natal Venus as well ..
t.Lillith has also been opposing your natal Venus .. but that has passed the exact point

you've also got a Uranus transit going on ..
it's applying to conjunct your natal Lillith and trine your natal Mars

and folk of your generation are dealing with a Pluto transit ..
it's conjunct natal Neptune and sextile natal Pluto

First thing I saw is Uranus is headed for your Ascendant. He also sits on the other side of your chart on the Descendant so you are headed for your Uranus half return. This must be a majorly unsettling time of your life, it's quite likely that you are being shaken up and forced into radical change.
http://www.findyourfate.com/planets/uranus.htm

There is a detailed section on Uranus transiting on the Ascendant that is really worth reading in full.
http://www.cafeastrology.com/uranustransits.html

Uranus Transits Conjunct Ascendant
This transit will occur only once every 84 years and is therefore usually a once-in-a-lifetime transit. You have a tremendous need for liberation now......Your close personal relationships will be tested now......This transit can be very difficult on marriages...Solid friendships and marriages will survive the challenges of this transit by expanding to allow greater freedom of expression for both partners.

Your Moon is Progressed into the sign of Scorpio and is separating from natal Neptune. The emotions and the planets of dreams and confusion together in the intense sign of Scorpio doesn't sound comfortable.

Over the last 6 months the Moon has been moving over your husband's Stellium in Scorpio (which is conjunct your natal Neptune). Right now it is over Mercury, the planet of communication. Confused emotions and communication don't make the best mix I wouldn't have thought. It is applying to his Venus as well but after that it will move away from this group of planets. Hopefully this will take some of the pressure off.

Progressed Moon conjunct Neptune

Don't be surprised if you find yourself adrift on your dreams for the next couple of months, which can be a treat if you've cleared your decks of practical matters so you can let it happen. You can't be pinned down right now, so don't go there, but let yourself float and give your imagination full sway.

Those are the major influences right now, isn't that enough?

Venus rules his chart and right now it is progessed to apply to a Conjunction to the Moon within 2 degrees. It all sounds rather happy and positive on here:
http://www.cafeastrology.com/progressedplanetsaspects.html

I notice that his natal Moon is trine a stellium of Mars and Pluto in a tight conjunction, joined by Uranus 3 degrees away. It is also Opposite Saturn. Mars/Pluto/Uranus in Virgo Sextile Uranus/Sun/Mercury/Venus in Scorpio.

His progressed Ascendant has moved to 26 degrees of Scorpio, Conjunct the chart ruler, Venus. So this is joining in the powerful activity in this triangle.

I'm thinking he's a person who likes to have things done his way. Maybe he assumes this is going to happen in the current circumstances.

Venus is going to trine the Mars/Pluto Conjunction, exact in around 2010, right now it is 3 degrees off. Some people wouldn't count that as the orb is too wide. Venus is the chart ruler being the ruler of the Ascendant/1st house (the start of things, the outer appearance). It also rules the 8th House (joint finances, tax, sexual matters).

His Moon is progressed to Cancer, the Opposite from his natal sign of Capricorn which is quite restrained and is sitting on the IC - home based. MC being about social status and career, I wonder what changes are afoot and how this could impact your home life. It will Conjunct the Midheaven in about 10 months time.
http://www.cafeastrology.com/progressedmoonaspects.html

Progressed Moon conjunct Midheaven

You are at a point when how you feel about your career and the information you would like to see spread about you could have a great effect on your reputation. Emotional decisions that are right for the heart may impact seriously on the rest of your life, so choose wisely and for the long term.

Didn't someone do a calculation saying 21st January was the most miserable day of the year? It was based on weather, credit card bills, etc. Maybe this was it?

Blue Monday is a New Order track, that's as much as I know.

HappyDragon I heard that on the news yesterday, too, and it made me laugh because yesterday I had been complaining about how I was not motivated to even change out of my PJs..

There's a lot to feel down about this month: the subprime mortgage crisis, stormy, unpredictable weather, rising gas prices, presidential primary free-for-alls. So, it would be easy to believe the theory set forth by Dr. Cliff Arnall, a researcher from Cardiff University, that the third Monday of the month (Jan. 21, this year) — a day he calls Blue Monday — will be our most depressing day of the year. Arnall bases his yearly prediction on a formula he developed, which factors in the weather, consumer debt from holiday spending and failed New Year's resolutions and arrives at that conclusion that we'll hit rock bottom on Monday the 21st.

etc, etc.

You're welcome, but I'm not a professional, it is just my hobby.

I hope it works out for you both.

StillatLarge, just curious, what makes you suspect a hormonal imbalance in her chart?

Thank you every one for your replies - I'm sorry I'm so late back to the board....

blue moon - thank you so much for your insights. It's very interesting about the SADS - like for many of us, a blue sunny sky puts an instant smile on my face. Unfortunately, the UK doesn't have to many of those so I'd better start saving for a move to somewhere hot!!!
I had a sneaking feeling it might be Uranus related. It seems to be a horrible restless, stressful feeling that I don't want to have but can't get rid of. Unsettling is the perfect word!!! It's like it's forcing me to want to make dramatic changes in a life that just a year ago I was perfectly content with. I just want the constant, nasty buzz in my head of "run - get out while you can," to go away and leave me be. I don't want commitment problems - I'm a Taurus!!!
Despite having a prominent singleton Uranus in my chart, an 11th house Sun and an Aquarius moon, you'd think I'd be used to Uranian energy by now - obviously not. But that's Uranus for you - expect the unexpected.... But thank you blue moon - so much for your help!

Happy Dragon - Again - thank you so much for your help - it is always much appreciated
Saturn and Chiron - ouch! Sounds almost like a mini Saturn return!!! Saturn would certainly describe the gloomy feeling I'm left with after I think crazy Uranian thoughts or make stupid, sudden Uranian decisions. I don't want to be the architect of my own misery and I guess these unwanted feelings of stress that I don't what to do with are making me feel very low and question things about my life and myself. Sounds Saturn-ish to me. Chiron and the N.Node - old wounds and my future direction. I guess I've got alot to think about.....
Neptune square Venus? Oh God - no wonder I can't think straight in the love department!
Thank you Happy Dragon for your wonderful insights - and yes - blue Monday it certainly was! (I'm gonna go and listen to the song mow!!!)

augentier - thank you! While it's good to know I'm not alone, I hope you feel so much better soon and that life takes an upswing for you!!!

leenagidwani I can't offer any astrological help, but good luck with your marriage - all the best.

stillatlarge - if you're referring to me, then you might well be onto something. I've suspected possible thyroid problems for a couple of years now but my doctor keeps saying no. Another thing, is that my health in 2007 was shockingly bad and I was hospitalised several times. It must have taken a lot out of me, considering the state I'm in now....

Thank you everyone....

I just say that from experience although I'm sure there's an astrological placement. That happened to me all the time when I was that age. A lot of what's blamed on bi-polar etc. these days are just normal hormones raging. They're what makes everything so intense and overblown like that especially at that age. I remember how long it took me to figure out why I would all of a sudden feel suicidal. I finally looked at the dates. When there is no external cause and it's just a mental sensation, they're usually the culprit, for women anyway. IMO

Thank you. It's a shame they're so far behind on the research on women's issues and it's so hard to find a doctor that knows what he's doing. I'm going to buy Suzanne Sommers book. At least I'll be armed with some info next time I have to deal with the gyno. :/

re:
* .. is that my health in 2007 was shockingly bad and I was hospitalised several times. *

just a note .. from the begining of 2007 ..
t.Saturn started off by squaring your venus .. sun .. chiron .. and n.node .. .. in that order
from what i understand .. t.Saturn to Sun transits can highlite health issues ..
maybe with the retrograde it's giving you a chance to adress the same issues ..

also at the beginning of 2007 ..
t.Chiron was about two degrees and applying by square aspect to your natal Saturn ..
if you look at your chart and note the distance between natal Saturn and natal Mars ..
well t.Chiron .. at the moment .. is squaring that position midpoint between them ..
so maybe effecting both at once .. a bit of a push-pull effect maybe ..

actually if i display the minor aspects as well .. i.e. in the transit grid ..
you have .. in close orb .. minor transit aspects between ..
t.Jupiter and your natal Chiron
t.Uranus and your n.node ..
t.Pluto and your natal Sun
t.Chiron and your natal Chiron
t.Lillith and your natal Moon

anyhow .. i do hope you feel better soon ..
( at least tChiron is moving relatively fast these days )
