Leonard Rossiter's "the Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin" used to crack me up.

I tend to like play on words, sarcasm, smut. I don't like cruel humour and get annoyed at jokes about disabled people. Racist jokes don't go down a bundle either. Comedians sometimes slip into humour as glossy veneer over spite. Keep it clever, but don't get mean.

I like Denis Leary but that's a carnal thing.

The friend of mine with the nearest humour to mine has:

Sun Aries
Moon Libra
Mercury Taurus
Jupiter Sag in 4th EQHS/ 5th Placidus

Me:

Sun Gemini
Moon Libra
Mercury Taurus
Jupiter Sag in 1st

I think my humour is more a reflection of Scorpio rising, Mars Square Mercury and Sun Gemini. The tongue is sharp!

Depends (but this isn't really an astrology thing).

Humour - can this be anything other than TV? Richmal Crompton (author, Scorpio). Many other Scorps/Aries make me laugh almost without effort as they are so sarcastic. Sags with Venus in Scorp are pretty off-the-wall, you either laugh or walk away. Aquas are the best though - they're bloody geniuses (my ex-h).

Virgos and Libras can be very funny, very clever - like Ronnie Barker, Steve Guttenberg (in Police Academy), Adam Sandler ('cos he looks cute) and Eminem.

Hate Monty Python. Don't like Stephen Fry or any other members of the 80s new Wave Brit comedy, almost on principle. Can't stand Victoria Wood (Taurus) or French (Taurus) and Saunders (Cancer). Too much a women's thing for my liking.

Like irreverent and politically incorrect humour so long as it doesn't go too far (i.e. jibes about disabled people are right out the door).

Love,

Xena

Sun - Aries
Moon - Pisces
Merc - Aries
Jupe - Pisces

Though I do have Mars & Sat in Gem, and Asc in Virgo.

I just looked through a bunch of charts of people I find really funny (both famous & people i know personally) and I'm not seeing any definite patterns...except for Taurus shows up a lot as the Sun, Moon, or Mercury..Sagittarius & Aquarius shows up in the Sun and Moon...and Scorpio shows up in the Mercury.

Capricorn sun / Scorpio rising / Sagittarius moon

Love Bremner, Bird and Fortune.

Not so keen on Little Britain. I like Nan out of Catherine Tate - "wot a fackin' liberty!" maybe it was the years I spent in the East End.

"Humour - can this be anything other than TV?"

Private Eye? Polly Filler is always good.

Astro patterns -> I think we are dealing with a diverse group of people. Often they do stand up and other things, e.g Hugh Laurie and Robin Williams are well-known for straight acting as well as stand-up. So that would be reflected.

Everyone, everything.

I am amused by... e v e r y t h i n g. Laughing is a natural process for me, hehe.

I'm a Sag Ascendant, with Jupiter in Pisces in the 3rd house. Jupiter squares my Ascendant exactly, and squares my 1st house Uranus. Which makes for a ridiculous sense of humor, I'm afraid

People wise, my sister makes me laugh the hardest out of anyone I've ever known. She's a Gemini AC, Gemini Sun, Libra Moon (Moon in the 5th)

Her Jupiter in the 3rd exactly conjuncts my Moon

------------------
Sagittarius AC, Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Leo

Just noticed something. Two people instantly came to mind, my ex bf in highschool, and then a friend from work; both make me double over hysterical w laughter. My ex bf's birthday was March 28, 1983. Then I went on myspace to check my friend from work, and guess what? She has the same bday, same yr. (twilight zone theme song!) that was a little crazy. Both have this really obnoxious off the wall quick wit. Also, I like Ben stiller(nov30,1965).

Ppl I dont find funny at all:
Dane Cook (march18,1972)
Dave Chapelle (aug24, 1973)

I have jupiter in capricorn, and I think thats in my tenth house..im aries rising

Who makes me laugh? ( sun sign, moon, and jupiter)... and what is your jupiter sign and house?

My husband cracks me up. He is really funny.

Sun- Leo
Moon- Pisces
Jupiter- Aquarius- in the 5th house

My dad also makes me laugh like crazy

Sun- Capricorn
Moon- Cancer
Jupiter - Libra - 9th house

My brother is dead pan funny like my mom-

Sun- Sagittarius
Moon- Scorpio
Jupiter- Aquarius 11th house

I also have a cool sense of humor and crack people up all the time.

Sun- Sag
Moon- Aries
Jupiter- Scorpio 2nd house

I think those that have a strong Mercury are hilarious and to me that matters more than the other planetary positions;

Bear- Mercury in Leo
Dad- Mercury in Capricorn
Brother- Mercury in Sag
Me- Mercury in Capricorn

Most comedians have Mercury in Capricorn.

Let's see...

I actually like a lot of the people mentioned here: Eddie Izzard (aqua), Demetri Martin (gemini), Steven Colbert (taurus). Then of course, I also like Jon Stewart (saggy), Lewis Black (virgo), and Ron White (saggy; kind of surprising to me since I don't like the rest of the blue collar comedians, however, I'm from Texas and Ron White's comedy is rather smart actually). Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

I tend to go for high comedy (like British comedy), intelligent comedy, political comedy, wit, or smart a** comedy. I really dislike crude humor and racial humor since there is really only so much you can do with it and it's pretty much the same thing over and over. It's really genuinely not funny to me. Sketch comedy is really hit or miss with me honestly. It's either really funny or really not. I don't like Will Ferrell(cancer) and Carlos Mencia (scorpio? or libra? he's on a cusp day).

As for friends, my sag sun/leo rising/cancer moon friend is really funny. So is my aries sun/cancer rising/scorpio moon friend. I have Jupiter in Sagittarius, btw.

Also, I found this little video the other day and I think it's just HILARIOUS! http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/1050

Only a few Sun signs can have that placement, so it's probably more to do with how much Mercury is emphasized.

Well on this forum... Its Jwhop ; Gosh that guy is just entertainment upon entertainment even though he might not know it Lol! Move over Steven Colbert.

But for me personally... Jon Stewart. Oh if that guy was a woman I would have asked for a marriage proposal LOL! (Hmmm... still would have gone gay for him but he is married... Damn.) But that guy cracks me up with his wit.

Me Jupiter: Capricorn

And Jon is a Saggitarius.

but the first person that came to mind is eddie izzard - very intelligent and funny.
also, jack black and my best friend bunny who has the wittiest, wackiest sense of humor (leo sun, aqua rising, mercury in leo and moon in scorpio).

My favorite stand-up comedian is Louis CK. He has a Virgo Sun, Cap Moon, and Leo Jupiter (& Venus).

My Moon is in the same sign as his Venus and is exactly conjunct his Jupiter. My Jupiter is in Virgo (like his Sun) in the 10th house (similar to his Cap Moon?), so that could explain the affinity. I do tend to find people with a strong earth influence funny.

Of my close friends, 4 consistently exhaust my abs. Three of them have earth Moons, two have earth Suns, and two have earth Jupiters.

I love a lot of comedians, but I haven't looked up their info. I usually like absurd humor (Conan, Kids in the Hall, Strangers with Candy, AbFab). I also usually like humor about awkward social moments, humor that Ricky Gervais (Extras, The Office) and Larry David excel in. All I know for them is that they're both Cancer Suns. Also love silly satire, like The Simpsons (Matt Groening - Aqua) and Family Guy (Seth MacFarlane - Scorpio).

I'm a huge Colbert fan. He has a Taurus Sun, Gemini Moon, and Taurus Jupiter (trine my Virgo Jupiter). Al Franken also cracks me up, all I know for him is that he's on the Taurus/Gemini cusp. Some of David Sedaris' stuff (Cap) kills me.
