I read the book,ONLY LOVE IS REAL by Pastlife Regression Therapist/Writer,Psychiatrist Dr. Brian L. Weiss. It is one of the books that profoundly changed my life. I read this book very shortly after I started believing in Astrology. I read it during my flight to my naval duty station. This was in early July 1998. It really helped me understand the soulmates concept. His book really opened my mind to metaphysical,New Age thinking.
I agree with what his views, beliefs about the whole soulmate concept. I have his other books, MANY LIVES,MANY MASTERS and THROUGH TIME,INTO HEALING. I should get his last books.

I have looked at his chart before. He has Sun,Mercury, and Mars in Scorpio disposited by Pluto in 8th. He has Moon sextile Neptune in 9th. He has Chiron in 9th too. I don't remember the rest of his chart.

ONLY LOVE IS REAL by Brian L. Weiss

The front cover: The stores continue, the past lives emerge, and psychiatrist and his patients bring forth a message that can transform the world.
A Story of Soulmates Reunited

The back cover:
Now Dr. Wesiss takes his research
The book is about two strangers, Elizabeth and Pedro, who are unaware that they have been lovers throughout the long centuries---until fate brings them together again. He shows how each and every one of us has a soulmate whom we have loved in past incarnations and who waits to reunite with us now. And he opens up entirely new worlds for all of us everywhere, based on a single, powerful truth...

page 157 to 158

You will not always marry your most strongly bonded soulmate. There may be more than one for you, because soul families travel together. You might choose to marry a less bonded soul companion, one who has something specific to teach you or to learn from you. Your recognition of a soulmate may occur later in life, after both of you are already committed to your present-life families. Or your strongest soulmate connection may be to your parent,or to your child, or to your sibling. Or your strongest connection may be to a soulmate who has not incarnated from the other side, like a guardian angel.

Sometimes your soulmate is willing and able and available. He or she might recognize the passion and the chemistry betwen you, the intimate and subtle bonds that imply connections over many lifetimes. Yet he or she may be toxic for you. It is a matter of soul development.

If one soul is less developed and more ignorant than the other, traits of violence, greed, jealousy, hatred, and fear might be brought into the relationship. These tendencies are toxic to the more evolved soul, even if from a soulmate. Frequently rescue fantasies arise with the thought, I can change him; I can help her grow. If he does not allow your help, if in her free will she chooses not to learn, not to grow, the relationship is doomed. Perhaps there will be another chance in another lifetime, unless he awakens later in this one. Late awakenings do happen.

Sometimes soulmates decide not to get married while incarnated. They arrange to meet, to stay together until the agreed upon task is completed, and then to move on. Their agendas, their lesson plans for the entirety for this life, are different, and they do not want to or need to spend all of this lifetime together, This is not a tragedy, only a matter of learning. You have eternal life together, but sometimes you may need to take separate classes.

A soulmate who is available but unawakened is a tragic figure and can cause you great anguish. Unawakened means that he or she does not see life clearly, is not aware of the many levels of existence. Unawakened means not knowing about souls. Usually it is the everyday mind that prevents awakening.

We hear the excuses of the mind all the time: I'm too young; you are of a different religion (or race, region, social status, intellectual level, cultural background, and so on). These are all excuses, for souls possess none of these attributes.

The person may recognize the chemistry. The attraction is definitely there, but the source of the chemistry is not understood. It is delusional to believe that this passion, this soul recognition and attraction, will be easily found again with another person. You do not run into such a soulmate every day, perhaps only one of two more in a lifetime. Divine grace may reward a good heart, a loving soul.

Never worry about metting soulmates. Such meetings are matter of destiny. They will occur. After the meeting, the free will of both partners reigns. What decisions are made or not made are matter of free will, of choice. The less awakened will make decisions based on the mind all of its fears and prejudices. Unfortunately, this often leads to heartache. The more awakened the couple is, the more likelihood of decision based on love. When both partners are awakened, ecstasy is within their grasp.

My soulmate connection, love between Meghann and me is very strong and in spite of our racial differences, educationaldifferences, age differences, regional differences, family differences, and our neurological differences.

There are many soulcouples that are like us out there. It's never too late to find somebody. I gave up on love many times....I even considered maybe I am meant to be a monk.....especially with my having Ketu in 12th with Moon in nakshatra of Satabisha in the sign of Aquarius in 7th aspected by Saturn in my Vedic Astrology chart. I finally found the one. I wish that for everybody.

Very refreshing post. At times, we wonder what is going on (like what I am feeling of late), and though we know that life has lessons to teach, we still stop and ponder.

I guess this also gives me a reason to learn astrology more deep.

Glaucus,

Thank you for posting the book title and the information. It is so valueable to know. There are many times that I have explained to friends that we have more than one soulmate and that soulmates are not always the person we will marry.

I have half jokingly said that I don't want to see another soulmate come down the road toward me because they are a lot of work. The chemistry can be incredible, but the tasks are not always pleasant.

Another astrologer friend of mine told me she doesn't want to meet her soulmate because, and I quote her saying, "Soul Mates kill each other." We both laughed because it was something I hadn't thought of before, but she's right. I've read a lot of spiritual materials on the death of John Lennon and some channelers claim that John Lennon and his murderer were a type of soul mate couple and that they had made a deal before they were incarnated, that Mark would kill John. It may sound shocking, but how many of us have made that very same deal in lesser or greater ways and we just don't know it?

I guess the best we can do is just wish for a spouse who is mostly harmoniously compatible to ourselves and that we can just mostly make each other happy, because life will be tough anyway, might as well go through it with someone who is pleasant and fun to be around.

Thanks again for this.

Ah. Thanks for that Glaucus. I remember reading that years ago and I still believe it to this day......but in my current state, it's an excellent and timely reminder.

Hmmm...

I should take a look at that book.

I too believe in past lives, soul mates, and such... Although, what you're describing sounds like what I call kindred spirits because there are more than one of them. Really, the label doesn't matter. There are definitely some people I automatically "know" I've known before... And then some it takes a little bit of work before I know that I've known them.

Anyway, thanks for the info!

THAT SUCKS!!!
I feel in my bones the man I love was meant for me. And yes, he thinks our age gap is too much, blah blah blah. And yet since he met someone else a year ago (his first ever girlfriend- they're now engaged) he's admitted more than once that he can't stop thinking about me.
There's something so distinct and unusual between us.
I recognised it right away but was so scared I lost him, I wonder if he realises it too. Surely he must, a year apart and him with someone else and he's still not over it???
Who's he kidding???
Its been over 2 years since we first hooked up, surely that kind of fire can't burn that intense without something deep inside fuelling it- passion fades in most cases but with us it always seemed the more we got the more we wanted. Even now when we're both supposedly 'over it'.

Rant over!

Sorry
