I am traveling to Paris for 2 days with my brother and friend soon.So I was wondering how that will show on our on transits. What should I be looking for? Transiting planets in houses? Specific travelling aspects? How do you predict travel? Transiting planets passing 9th house, Mars/Uranus aspect, I think.. don't know if I'm right though :) what else? IP: Logged |

ok, fair enough. So if you decide to predict when someone will travel, do you just decide for them too?IP: Logged |

Also, I've checked my brother and friend's transits. My brother has transiting Mars oppose Uranus and my friend has transiting Sun in her 9th house, I have transiting Mars in my 9th house as you can see.So, so far I can see that transits do work :) Still looking for other pointers.. IP: Logged |

Real quick glance here...Mars transiting the 9th house. Current "energies" and activities focused on travel, higher education, and/or religion. Jupiter, natural ruler of travel and the 9th house....in the natal 3rd of trips and siblings. Soon being aspected by conjunction from transiting Jupiter which brings opportunities. Uranus, ruler of the sudden and "new", separating from a square (strong activation) to Mercury (natural ruler of Trips, again), your house ruler of long distance trips, in Sagittarius (another indicator of journeys).
There's quite a bit of activation of the "travel" houses going on, I mean...I guess that it could be your trip is how the energy manifested
Sun and Uranus transiting the 5th = Spur of the moment vacation. Uranus is pretty active, it rules airplanes. Mercury-Uranus ...travel by plane...Jupiter- long distance/another country...Mars = pulls the trigger... IP: Logged |

alanabelle86, thank you!It's more than just Mars in 9th house. Indeed, the rulers' placements and aspects show travel, I haven't thought of that before. You are right. IP: Logged |

Devil's Advocate:So if you travel for the holidays every year would you consider that to be a matter of a transit? IP: Logged |

AcousticGod,If it's frequent/regular, then it might not show.. or it will, but probably as a long-lasting transit. I travel to my country every year, every summer so it's usual for me, I'm not asking about that and don't expect it to show on my transits. But with Paris, it's different, I have never been there before. I was planning to buy tickets for December but they were too expensive and my friend couldn't come with me, and my brother was busy too. So we didn't go :( I later found out that Mars was retrograde at that time. As soon as it turned direct - I bought tickets :) despite the fact that I was then planning to get them for Easter. I felt like something pushed me to buy them, I was so eager. Honestly, I think direct Mars pushed me, don't laugh :) Transits work IP: Logged |

When Jupiter transits the IC and 4th house you could "leave home".IP: Logged |

Can you look up old transits in your life on astro.com? I'd be interested in going back to the last time I was in Paris to see if there's anything. Most of my international travel hasn't been prompted by me, though. External forces caused me to travel (not that I would ever complain about traveling).IP: Logged |

Yeah, I do that kind of thing all the time - go back and forward in time. Just go to the Extended Chart Section and change the date and set the chart to Transits to see what was going on then. IP: Logged |

Taurus26, great info! especially for me, Jupiter is in my 3rd house now, close to 4th and I have been thinking about leaving my parent's house for some time now. Guys, watch Uranus. I did my family's and my friends' charts (their transits)and most of the time when something big happened in their life, be it change of job or residence, Uranus was involved every time. I used astro.com, just went back in time. I remember asking my mum and dad what exactly happened in year X and month X (Uranus aspects to personal planets, usually conjunction and opposition)and they both travelled. And now I told my friend that I think she will leave her job in May/June (transiting Uranus conjunct Moon). Her transits also show that she will travel (Uranus opposite her Mars)but I decided not to tell her because I couldn't imagine why would she possibly want to travel now.. And, guess what?? She IS planning to leave the job in May because she wants to study personal training and for that she WILL travel to Spain (that's where they offer the course she's interested in) :) Watch Uranus! Honestly, AG. I don't think so. I think for something like that, if you travel every year regardless of special circumstance (just deciding to get up and go somewhere out of the blue one day, or getting the opportunity to do so), it'll probably be more likely shown in the natal chart or progressions. If shown at all
I don't believe astrology dictates every aspect of our lives. I believe that that while it's accurate, if my transits says it's a great time for a vacation or a trip, and I don't have the financial means for it, the only long trip I'll be taking is to work. Buuut to answer your question;
Like I said...I think something like that (yearly travel) could be indicated in the natal through Mercury/Jupiter/3rd/9th/Sagittarius connections and activations. I mentioned progression because obviously they last longer, and an aspect may form that will influence the native to get up and go somewhere. Of course, transits, natal, solar arcs, returns, planets, progressions aside, if you wanted to go somewhere...you certainly don't have to wait for Jupiter to say so :-) But it is cool to look sometimes to see just where astrology is "fitting" into your life and how accurate it is. ------------------ Sagittarius AC, Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Leo IP: Logged |
