Mars is energy, vitality, sex drive. The Sun is ego and true self. It makes sense it would be Mars.

Besides, I had a thing going with a Mars in Scorpio man once upon a time. I'll spare you the details.

Again, look at the whole chart, etc. In this case it opposed my Venus and Squared my Mars. Other aspects come into play that meant we got on very well (not just in the sack).

I would also agree, Mars in Scorpio is the one more sexually charged, since Mars relates to sex more than sun does.

But in your case it could also be the synastry between the two of you. He has a Venus in Scorpio, you have a Mars in Scorpio.
Even if those are not conjunct, you would notice the impact.

Venus and Mars are yin and yang and therefore complete each other, or at least feel a great attraction to each other. Like the minus and the plus-pole on a magnet.
And in your case this attraction happens on a Scorpio-kind of attraction - very intense. Both of you are passionate and intense,w hen it comes to relationships.
He is attracted to that Scorpionic vibe (Venus always say a lot about what we are attracted to) and Mars delivers that Scorpionic vibe actively.

Of course that is only ONE placement, you would have to take the whole into account.

I see the most blatant sexuality from the Taurus and Cancer w/ Scorpio Mars. The other two seem to really hide it and keep their sexuality to themselves.

I have a Scorp Venus and I have been very attracted to Scorp Mars..there is a natural magnetism and fascination. There is definite sexual tension between me and the Scorp Mars listed above (except for the brother of course...though I read that siblings with Venus-Mars conjunctions are usually close, and my brother and i are close)

Despite the differing moons, mercuries, and suns in the two more obviously sexual guys .. they both talk about sexual things a lot, see sexuality in everyday things, say things in a more sexual way, etc. These guys are hot. I love it

I put more focus on planetary geometry.

I also look at connections to astronomical points like the planetary nodes,perigree/apogee,perihelion/aphelion

I am growing increasingly more uncomfortable with zodiac sign placement astrology.

I think that I'd rather use the actual constellation placements.

the Sun's energy , though not combustible, can last and last...

Thing is, Mars in Scorpio covers one aspect of sex; and that is more the physical part, getting to the "crux" and reaching that ever-elusive climax.

Sun in Scorpio looks at sex as a "career"; ways to pleasure byond the bedroom; prolonging pleasure; diffrences between pleasure and ecstacy etc. It more of an explorative approach that lasts a lifetime.
