i can't make sense of this influence in my chart: my Ascendant is in Capricorn and Saturn sits in Sagittarius in the 10th, unaspected...

there is a 6 degree orb on a sextile to libra.. and some wide wide quincunxs... the only minor aspect i could find was

that is was exactly on my Pluto-Neptune midpoint (ie midpt is at 4'25" Sag and Saturn is at 4' 40" Sag).. but these two planets couldn't be more impersonal...

could anyone help me decipher what this might be expressed as? i will gladly post my whole chart if youre interested. i also want to mention that Cap is a pretty important sign in my chart I think as my Mars is dignified there and I have Neptune there too.. Saturn is the only thing in my 10th.

thanks!

also - maybe this might help - some quick background on myself. as a kid, i always resisted being disciplined and hardworking - i had my own way of looking at things. my parents were destined to make a good student out of me- but as i grew older they became more and more lax on their attitude toward work. being immigrants who worked really hard to get where they were, they pretty much saw that as the only way of living well.

i did work pretty hard, and success came as a result of it.. i never felt like the burdens were unsurmountable.. but at the end of it, i have this irking feeling that this success and achievement is not "who i am" but rather what i learned to focus on..

im not blaming anything on my parents or anything here. i really love them and know their intentions were the best, but i do feel like they made a big impression on me and i probably would not have made the choices in my life that i did if it weren't for their viewpoints on things.

at the end of the day, i feel like im at a place where im surrounded by hardworkers and im destined to be a geek and burn hours of the day working myself... but this isnt where my true heart lies.

career itself has always been pretty stressful to me. growing up, there was so much importance placed on it, that i cant really seem to shirk from it.. though perhaps i would like to see myself in other contexts... also my North Node is in a really strong square from Aries in the 3H to my Mars and Asc in the 12th and 1st...

so any input would be useful. thanks

teologist, thank you for your input and sharing the story about the guy in your life. i think im going to get back into drawing too. it used to give me so much joy...

>Perhaps you can gather the skills, connections, and resources you've already gained at your current job and put them toward something a little more fulfilling?

i think you're right

about the description of unaspected Saturn..

"the sense of responsibility is often so strongly developed that it becomes distorted."

hrm, haha i can't really relate. i have a hard time disciplining myself like everybody else and i am never conscious of my sense of responsibility. i'm not really that insanely of a hard worker- rather working comes relatively natural to me.

"The individual with an unaspected Saturn may seem very cold, hard and unapproachable."

I hope not! i do have a Cappy Asc, and I can be a bit unapproachable at times, but often I'm pretty warm, laughing, and friendly.

I do have anxiety, but nothing beyond the level of my peers and I can relate to "You may feel that this native cannot be undersetood or pinned down. And you are not alone in this---the native often feels the same about himself." but it doesn't feel like it's related to me being "austere" haha. hrmmm

Hi StarryM,

I just edited everything in here because after re-reading everything, I realized that you explained everything clearly, sorry.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Since you have Capricorn ascendant, capricorn is ruled by Saturn, so your natal Saturn gets a boost from your ascendant. You should do well in business or in any executive position, or even in politics, considering that your natal Saturn is in the 10th house, the highest house in the chart's horizon.

Wow, I didn't even think about Mercury Retrograde as an influence for me taking back what I said.

And thanks for digging the Star Wars references, it was true, my father (Saturn) did bark (Mercury) like Darth Vader (Saturn again).

Here's another thing. At the ripe old age of 37, I bought my father and myself those Darth Vader masks with the voice duplicator. You put the helmet on your head and you speak and it makes you sound like Darth Vader. When my father speaks through it he really sounds like James Earl Jones because my father's voice is very deep and stern (as evidenced by my Mercury-Saturn conjunction again. ). In the late 50's and early 60's my father sang bass in a doo-wop group. Saturn (heavy, bottom) Mercury (voice).
