Are you very close to someone who for social reasons is someone you normally wouldn't expect to be so close to? In my case, it's someone a lot younger than me, but the difference could be anything--one's liberal, the other's conservative; one's vegan, the other's a cowboy; one's bohemian, the other's bourgeois. (One uses the words bohemian & bourgeois, the other cackles at their use. ) So I was wondering for those of you who have that type of relationship, what sort of synastry do you have with your friend? Are there a lot of conjunctions? I've been working on a project with an 18 year old (I'm 28) and we've become close friends. This is unusual for me. I like young people, but a person that much younger than me never felt like a peer to me before. Most of my friends are older than me or my age. But I completely adore this guy. We hit it off right away. Within 10 minutes he felt like one of my kind. It's not a sexual thing for me at all. He feels like family. So I finally looked at our synastry, and I wasn't surprised to learn that we have so many narrow conjunctions. We have conjunct... In Leo: his Sun, my Moon In Sag: his Moon, my Sun In Virgo: his Mars, my Mars In Virgo: his Venus, my Saturn In Virgo: his Mercury, my Jupiter My theory is that in these types of relationships, there will be a lot of conjunctions in synastry b/c the feeling of familiarity and common ground that comes with conjunctions will make up for the social barrier that the individuals normally feel with people like their friend. Anyone have synastry to share? IP: Logged |

EDIT: O.K, I found out the DOB for my friend. Like I said she has a kid older than me, so that is a bit of a generation gap. We get on well, always have plenty to talk about. Moon CNJ Moon, Venus TRINE Venus/Mercury. Good for talking and shopping. IP: Logged |

Mercury Conjunct Jupiter seems like strong here if you are saying it only seems like a Family. If it turns out to be a little more than a Family then of course Sun and Moon of Fire Signs will rule ;-0) IP: Logged |

Not sure why Mercury CNJ Jupiter is strong? Concepts and ideals working together sounds ideal for the situation. If anything Mars CNJ Mars would suggest sexual chemistry, but given that this is two people working on a project it makes sense that they have found they are bonded, maybe they go about things the same way. Mars could work out as compatible energies in the workplace. IP: Logged |

I have very diverse range of friends..different lifestyles, values, backgrounds, social class, appearance, etc..My best friend is a rich, outgoing Canadian asian guy, and I'm an introverted poor white girl from Kansas .. we got acquainted by me being a total b!tch to him right off the bat because of something he said, lol .. now we are so close. Our moons are conjunct, and we have a lot of conjunctions that involve the outer planets. We also have quite a few trines, Venus trine Venus playing a big role in our friendship. Another strange thing is that he's a Taurus and I have never before been able to get along well with a Taurus male. ------------------ Capricorn sun / Scorpio rising / Sagittarius moon Mercury:: Sagittarius Venus::Scorpio Mars::Pisces IP: Logged |

OMG Jane - great thought. I never thought to do synastry between myself and friend of mine! we have known each other since freshman/sophmore years of high school (I'm now 30 and she is 29) and saw each other go through a whole lot of changes in our lives. from taping our music to our bedroom walls because we couldn't stand those flimsy steel stands, driving down the shore every daggone weekend, going against authority, the guys we loved and lost, the wild, dark alleys of existence we were able to come back from with all faculties in tact to now swapping recipes and child rearing. here is what I found:SAG my sun conjunct her neptune my venus conjunct her neptune my neptune conjunct her neptune CANCER my jupiter conjunct her jupiter (in gemini) LEO/VIRGO My saturn in virgo conjuncts her saturn in leo My AC in leo conjuncts her Saturn in leo SCORPIO my uranus conjuncts her uranus her uranus conjuncts my IC LIBRA my pluto conjuncts her pluto my true node conjuncts her true node my true node conjuncts her pluto my pluto & true node conjunct her IC
TAURUS my chiron conjuncts her chiron AQUARIUS her moon conjuncts my DC IP: Logged |

Thanks for the responses. It looks like Moon conjunctions are a common theme. That makes perfect sense! Our Moon is our natural comfort zone, so when that's emphasized in synastry, we can feel at home with someone who's part of a group that we normally don't feel that way with. I think our natal charts will show what sort of people we're attracted to as friends and whether we're more accepting of diversity. But for these types of relationships--friends w/ someone who belongs to a group you, not society, don't normally consider friend material--I think synastry is much more revealing. Our work together will be ending soon. We've hung out outside of work and will probably continue to do so, but I'll miss seeing him as often as I do now. I must admit though that I do feel self-conscious about the age gap. I feel a little like Michael Jackson. When I give him a drink, I tell him it's Jesus Juice. quote: If it turns out to be a little more than a Family then of course Sun and Moon of Fire Signs will rule
I can guarantee that will never happen! Cut to me shagging LeoBoy. amisha - I find looking at synastry with friends very interesting. You may even notice some common patterns with friends, and different patterns with the people you're sexually attracted to. I've noticed that I love Sun-Moon conjunctions for friendship, but have never had that aspect with a man I've been sexually attracted to. IP: Logged | |
