I suppose your Mars sign could also play an indirect role. For example, Mars in Aries would give you a lot of energy and may give you a love of sports, which would keep you in good shape, whereas Mars in Cancer may make you less physically active. Of course, any planets aspecting Mars can modify these qualities.

You should consult websites such as:

See if you can make any correlations.

My opinion is that the basic appearance determinant is the sun sign and aspects to the sun. If the sun is badly afflicted, then maybe the ascendant will carry more of the weight.

However, the following should have an impact on how someone should look (according to me):

* Sun and its aspects - also look at which decanate the sun will fall in.
* Ascendant and its aspects - also look at which decanate the asc will fall in. The ascendant will provide the perception others have of you and may affect your facial expression.
* Look to the chart ruler as well, as it deposits the ascendant.
* Look to see what is in first house.
* Look to venus and aspects.

For example:
* Me - aqu sun (aqu decanate) with opp saturn and squ uranus - I have a highly angular face and typically Aqu. Sleepy, long eyes are dead giveaway for Aqu as well (see Paris Hilton).
* Aries ac - gives me a very confident mein with a very direct and apparently scary look in my eye, have dark hair and eyes but my hair has a definite reddish tinge. Big pores, acne. Of "athletic build"
* Pluto opp asc - darker appearance, hairier than normal; jupiter conj asc - taller than the average girl; "athletic" build, people tell me I have a nice smile despite having a small mouth (partly due to jup's influence partly due to leo decanate asc); nep conj asc - dreamy eyes.
* Not sure what impact chiron in 1st has on me.
* Mars (chart ruler) in gem/3rd - have scars on my hands/arms.
* Venus unaspected in sag - probably same effect as jup conj asc.

Libra rising are typically the best looking and tend to have great hair. Many of them seem to be blonde. Likewise, Sag rising are also attractive as well as Aqu rising (more of a plainer attractive face). Aries rising tend to have a very daring look about them. Virgo Rising are photogenic and have sparkly eyes but aren't necessarily as youthful as Gem rising.

Planets in first house:
Sun - probably a more regal look and strong personality. Maybe leo traits such as hair like a lion's mane
Moon - round face, pale
Venus - beautiful, oval face shape maybe something like good hair
Mercury - longer head, youthful looking
Mars - more masculine face maybe a heavy jaw and muscular, maybe might add some height
Jupiter - athletic build or weighty maybe again a longer face than normal. Tall
Saturn - darker and more structured facial features and body features
Uranus - angular and often piercing eyes - think Kurt Cobain
Neptune - dreamy and maybe greeny-blue eyes, maybe a bit bloated
Pluto - darker and maybe smaller, possibly hairy.

Pluto in 1st gives me huge, intense eyes. Uranus in 1st (also my dsc ruler gives me a slightly wild look and angular.
Jupiter n 12th stops me gaining weight l guess! My SO has jupiter in 12th too and we never put on weight. Venus/Moon/Saturn in aries - not sure what that means!

I do, however, look young for my age and am slender and short. The descriptions for Gemini Rising also mention "birdlike legs" but I don't know what that means. In any case, I have really nice legs (well proportioned and muscular).

Yeah, I agree. I'm half-Iranian, half-French so I don't identify with the physical descriptions.

The weird thing in my family is that my mother and sister both are small B cups but I somehow ended up with C/D cups. I'm actually considering getting a reduction because I'm very active and they get in the way. Also, I'm about 5'4 so on my frame they can make me look top-heavy if I wear certain clothes. And I don't appreciate getting leered at all the time.

Oh I *used* to think myself lucky but not anymore. I want out and I want smaller!!! I think I'd be okay with them if my frame were better suited but they stand out a bit too much for me.

Your chart ruler like me. is Mercury. the chart ruler is the planet that rules the sign of the ascendant in your and mines case. Virgo. although Im a skeptic when it comes to saying that both virgo and gemini are ruled by mercury. and when they talk of having a new ruler for Virgo in a few years it has to make you wonder well then apparently virgo is being misrepresented right now and certain interpretations are wrong.. I dont think everything will change just when someone declares a different ruler for virgo. it doesnt work like that. but aspects to your chart ruler could also give insight on your appearence and your self-being.. if your a skeptic then look at chiron instead of mercury. Chiron is being considered the possible actual ruler of Virgo.

I am of Black,English,German,French,Italian,Puerto Rican,Native American,and Jewish ancestry.

I just don't think that I could relate to that astrology appearance stuff that

I just think that I look like a mix of Black and Portuguese(with the Arab ancestry showing) with some Native American.

I have Virgo Ascendant with Pluto in Libra in 1st house
Jupiter is square my Ascendant
my 1st house ruler Mercury is in Scorpio conjunct/parallel Venus as well as contrparallel Saturn and parallel Neptune

I am 5'11 with broad shoulders for my height, frizzy curly black hair, brown eyes,and light brown/dark tan skin which can go to a medium brown if exposed to a lot of Sun. I have somewhat almond shaped brown eyes with long curly eyelashes. I have thick eyebrows which I feel that I have inherited from my 3/4 Portuguese,1/4 Puerto Rican maternal grandfather. I have short upper body and long legs like my father who was black Creole. I have high cheek bones which my mom tells me is from the Native American ancestry from my paternal grandmother.

I have people who think that I am Puerto Rican or some other Hispanic. Some even think that I am Pacific Islander. Some even think that I am an Arab...especially with a beard.

I look younger than my age..especially with no facial hair. People in my mom's family don't wrinkle much as they age,and that's because of the Portuguese ancestry.

There is a femininity that people tend to see in me too...especially when I wore my hair longer and was clean shaven. I have a voice to match. It got me mistaken for being gay.
Neptune is planet of being hard to pin down too....so Neptune parallel my 1st house ruler Mercury makes sense in that regard.
Chiron is parallel my Ascendant, but I don't know what would mean. I also have Eris quincunx the Ascendant too,and I definitely don't know what that means either.
