In a synastry chart with Venus Square Pluto what kind of relationship are you looking at?

Just fyi: In this particular chart there is also the red flag Venus square Saturn aspect. Both Venus's are the same person and these are the ONLY Venus aspects he has to the other person. Thoughts?

Hello, I once knew someone who had Venus Square Pluto in their natal chart. Throughout our time together she was incredibly cruel. She always put me down and told me what to do. I felt so used and abused by her that I nearly relapsed into a major depression. Presently, I am trying to put the pieces of my shattered esteem back together. In a synastry chart, Venus square Pluto can be very difficult, especially if it is reciprocal or if there aren't any other aspects that could counter its negativity. Below is an interpretation of its meaning along with an explanation of Venus Square Saturn.

Venus Square Pluto

This aspect is generally adverse. Pluto would be possessive, demanding, absorbing and imposing in some way on Venus. The association would upset the emotions of Venus. In romance this aspect indicates problems of adjustment, sometimes in sexual relations. Unless the two of you are on a high spiritual level, one of you could have a demoralizing influence upon the other. The moral integrity of Venus could suffer. This aspect sometimes indicates differences in social interests which create discord between the two individuals. In romance this aspect [can indicate] unrequited love.

Venus Square Saturn

This comparative combination is one that is very difficult in a relationship. In most cases, these two won't be voluntarily attracted to each other. The relationship is one that probably should be avoided, for this is not a good aspect for marriage or romance. When these do occur, there is usually a financial, ulterior, or status motive involved, either from the individuals or their families. The Saturn person tends to have a lack of consideration and may find it difficult to express affection. Saturn is apt to discourage Venus from any excessive show of affection. The Saturn person is apt to considerably older [spiritually or in actual years] and less tolerant than the Venus person.

Venus Square Saturn

This relationship may begin with a strong feeling of comfort and compatibility, over time, some very challenging dynamics are likely to surface. The Saturn person, fearing the Venus person's withdrawal of affection, loyalty, or respect, can easily become critical or demanding of the Venus person. In response to Saturn's critical demeanor, Venus may withhold affection. A vicious circle can quickly occur. The Venus person could begin to view the Saturn person as unsympathetic, and the Saturn person could come to view the Venus person as childish and undisciplined. Care should be taken to avoid getting into this negative cycle. It will be important for you to maintain an adequate social life, as the tendency with this aspect is to appease one another's jealous nature by cutting oneself off from hobbies, social activities, and pleasures outside of the relationship. You may be critical of one another's tastes, but at the root of this is some form of jealousy over the attention that you give to outside interests. Commitment and loyalty to one another will be vital, but also the source of friction.

Why's it a red flag?

Both of those aspects are on my synastry chart. His Venus only makes a Square to my Moon CNJ Pluto. His Moon doesn't make any major aspects at all.

My Venus Squares his Saturn, this aspect is part of a Grand Cross configuration.

Look at how the aspect ties into the rest of the chart. They don't necessarily spell doom.

What lessons are you getting out of the relationship from those testing aspects?

On my chart Saturn could well represent big Daddy's boot applying itself up my Venusian rear-end, telling me to do something with my creative talents. That's more use to me than a nice flowing trine with Jupiter that would tell me to just go read a book in the garden and forget about it.

Some dudes Venus squared my Pluto. Pluto squared his own venus so I dont know about that....if obsession is supposed to kick in with this aspect it certainly did with me. He wasn't even my type physically but I was in obsessive lust with this person. Supposedly the venus person is supposed to be the one obsessed but this one seems to have backfired on me. As for him, don't know, he was good at blocking out his emotions.....too good. He had a diffucult natal chart.

Venus square Pluto. That is really difficult! My 'ex girlfriend' had that aspect. What can I say she nearly destroyed me. Sex mad. She was rejected by her dad when she was younger and she pushes away those who love her. Really hard things happen to her. It's all or nothing.

Ironic as it looks like I will be getting back together again with her after 10 years. She has changed alot. Would think someone with this aspect would have to be highly evolved to cope with it and re-invent themselves.
