Topic: My father the Cap ASC. No wait, Cancer ASC.... help!

Okay so for a while I thought my dad was an Aqua rising. Mainly because he has a lot of Aqua influence in his chart. But I don't think he is.Over the years I have been watching him in terms of astrology and a few weeks ago I was positive that he was a Capricorn rising. But now, going by the look of his eyes, I get a weird feeling he could be Cancer rising. Something watery there. I just noticed that he has a soft look to his eyes. Pisces and Scorpio just DO NOT fit him so I'm going with Cancer as a possible sign. It's a showdown between Cancer and Capricorn. We don't have a birthtime and I don't feel comfortable with posting his photo on here without his permission so I'll just describe him: - Of Iranian heritage (he looks Italian a bit, with dark brown eyes and hair, somewhat muscular build, broad shoulders, has always been active and in shape)
- About six feet tall but don't really go by this because all the men in his family are tall
- Hair is straight, medium fine thickness, soft, slightly wavy, glossy when he was younger but he wears it short now that he's older
- Attractive (it's weird saying that about my dad but he is)
- Used to run marathons but he has knee issues.... which is why I thought Capricorn rising (Elbert Wade's site mentions knee issues for Cap ASC)
- Legs are slightly bowlegged (which makes me wonder about Cancer rising but there has to be non-Cancer rising people with bowlegs. This is not that noticeable but I thought it might help)
- Lips are full but they are not the first thing you notice; Capricorn rising also has full lips so that's kind of a toss-up.
- He has thick eyebrows that are sort of straight, they head up a bit, then angle down ever so slightly - depends on the angle at which you look at them
- He has a long, somewhat prominent chin, slightly squarish but can look pointy in some pictures
- prominent, long nose (definitely genetic - he and my uncles and aunts all have it)
- Skeptical about EVERYTHING
- Businessman (toss up again! can be Cap or Cancer! ARGH)
- Very dutiful and responsible
- Good planner/is known to overplan
- does not like excess or overt flashiness of wealth
- dislikes superficiality I don't want to mix in his chart details here. I want to keep it simply about the Ascendant. If you ask questions about his chart though I will post answers to them. Any help will be appreciated. This is driving me berserk!! Sarai  IP: Logged |

Cancer is associated with a round face, I thought? My best friend is cancer rising and he's very angular though.IP: Logged |

Sarai - sounds like my Cap ascending husband, really. And he's got funky bad moods at least every other day. Does your Dad get so morose you need to run away because it's unbearable? That's my husband...IP: Logged |

Jugular, Now that you mention it he CAN be quite moody. I'm a Cancer and even I notice! But my father also has lots of Aqua and Sag in his chart so he's not moody every other day. More like every second day.  lol Can you describe your husband's looks? Does he possess any Capricorn traits physically? It sounds like my father is Cap rising but I see water somewhere. Maybe it's his Libra moon that comes off in a soft way? IP: Logged |

Im a Cap Ascendant and alot of that sounds like me, minus the muscular build of course.  Im bowlegged,my eyes are watery, my lips are full, my eyebrows are thick (I have to tweeze them like crazy all the time), and I have a VERY prominent nose. 
But then again, Im also a cancer sun. Sorry If Im confusing you.

The fifth house describes children. Are his kids intense and brooding (a handful) like Scorpio. Or mellow like Taurus. That could be a clue.IP: Logged |

Dulce: I bet you are gorgeous! My father is starting to sound more like a Cap ASC. I'm just not sure where I'm seeing/sensing the water... maybe I'm confusing the soft eyes with his Libra moon. Oh, and I'm Cancer Sun too!Hermes: Well, both me and my sister are Scorpio Moons. Could that work? I wouldn't say either of us are mellow - but it's not like we're a major handful either. My sister can be quite intense at times... causing the entire family to get into an uproar with her crazy relationships and escapades. She's become much tamer over the years though. IP: Logged |

My husband is 5'10" and skinny as they come. When he was younger, he was muscular, as he ran track, now his legs still have some muscle, but not much. Green eyes. The bushiest eyebrows ever, but they've gotten less so with age. I laugh at his photos from his teenage/20's years. Green expressive eyes. Somewhat perpetual frown - weight of the world on his shoulders. Very full lips. Hope that helps. IP: Logged |

My favorite way to try figure out somebody's ascendant is to go to http://librarising.com/astrology and try to compare it to the categorized pictures there. You will definitely notice key characteristics about the expression and physical appearance of each sign. Good luck with that!!IP: Logged |
