how would I interpret it: Mercury - communication, thought processes
Square - creates tension with
Jupiter - ideas, expansiveness
Nothing wrong with thinking big, but we could do with some practicality and discipline somewhere on the chart to use this force to best advantage, and stop it getting out of control.
An example of natal chart with this aspect is my elder son. I just checked - it is within 4 seconds of exact. And I've just been to his parent's evening.
It wasn't painful. He's a clever boy alright, but clever won't get you far in life without discipline.
Is there anything else on the chart helping out Jupiter or Mercury? Looking at the context of the chart would be where I would head next.
On his chart, Jupiter doesn't make any other major aspects but Mercury is in a Grand Trine with Uranus and Saturn. Uranus gives originality, Saturn, discipline. Good. If Saturn gets kickstarted, then this could help Mercury/Jupiter from getting overblown. But the lesson needs to be learnt, because those Grand Trines can be lazy.
Interestingly, if we drag synastry into the picture, my Sun is Conjunct is Saturn, both in
So I obviously have a role to play, as would be expected.
It can be aggravating having to converse with someone who thinks they know everything at the best of times, but you really question yourself when that person wears Tom & Jerry underpants.
