Whoops that was supposed to read Does THEIR chart still have effect. That's basically the question in a nutshell. Suppose there is an issue of whether there was foul play, estate issues, etc. Can their chart still come into that equation?

Ive wondered about this question as well...my guess is it doesnt have effect after their passing. Ive applied it to deceased relatives, and didnt find in validity to it.

Well, what if something began, that was of their doing BEFORE their death and takes a while to complete? You know how some placements take some time to manifest like eclipses. It wouldn't affect the way the other people respond to something involving their memory, estate, etc.?

It certainly does. YES! YES! YES!

Take a look at the charts of master artists when their paintings are stolen, it shows up. When JFK Jr. was killed in the plane crash, it showed up in President Kennedy's chart and Jackie Kennedy's chart. Watch Princess Diana's chart when her sons get married, you'll see it.

I believe the chart still has an effect regarding things related to their lifes, like the example before (paintings for a painter, buildings for an architect, etc) but not on the "soul" of the deceased person.

The explanation is in my oppinion that every chart is made after our position in space/time ie Terra in Singapore per see, but if I were to move on Venus ^^ the transits wouldn'apply anymore, in fact, there will be different transits... imagine that

The chart has a lingering effect on the soul, until the astral elements are returned like the body. The soul experiences astrological effects directly without the insulating cover of the physical body, which is rather more intense, and causes a discharge of astral elements back to their origin in the astral plane. I am in agreement with Geocosmic that the natal chart does still have an effect.

You see astrologers compare synastry charts,transits to deceased famous people to see how why they are connected to a person. like say that there is an increased Elvis Mania going on,and so they check and find that transiting Jupiter is conjuncting the natal chart of Elvis' Ascendant. Maybe an Elvis fan has his Venus conjunct Elvis' Ascendant.

that's just an example. I am not saying that actually happened.

This is seriously a great thread, must bookmark it.

I'd have to agree with others and surely a person's chart must be still have some life to it despite the life of the person ending. Its a bit like an event chart where the impacts may still have significant impact (eg french revolution making France a continuing republic, Sept 11 etc), so that person has an ongoing impact.

Anyway, if a person can keep on living as an estate after their death, why not their chart?

I think Glaucus also raises an interesting point too where the aspects of the deceased person and mundane cycles which make aspect to the deceased person must work. I guess in general it also highlights what we are people find attractive in others or in events whether they are alive, dead, famous etc.

some time back i was in touch with a person who knows lot of indian astrology in detail. he showed me by comparing my family's chart as to how the more dominant and significant influences in a parent's chart eventually find their way in the child's chart. like me and my mom both have a South node (ketu) in4th house which means we will both have a lot of unrest and lack of peace at home which is so very true.

so in a way what u asked can be answered a YES.

Someone who has been in your life but is no longer present can have a lingering effect, most people would accept that. And we are talking about astrological charts, which are symbolic, anyway.
