Hello,

which harmonic-charts would we analyse in regard to relationships?

The 5th for romance?
The 7th for marriage?
Or rather the 9th for marriage?

There seems to be a lot of disagreement about how to interprete the 7th harmonic.
It is the "septile-harmonic", therefore being somewhat mysterious and spiritual, but on the other hand some authors also say, it relates to the 7th house and Libra-energy, and therefore it can be looked at in terms of relationships, too.

The Vedic astrologers use the 9th harmonics (of course with their system).

So, what do you say? Which one to pick?

I wondered about that exact point about the septile. The 9th and 5th clearly related to sag and leo but the 7th being mystical didnt fit with libra. Having a few septiles in my chart and having had them in synastry with other people, I think the telepathy, ability to see several sides to a dynamic in life or the relationship may be how it manifests. There is a partner-esque quality to it in that it achieves a special balance (libra) between the planets in the septile. It is a highly fluid and air signish kind of aspect. I think it also represents a point of completion as 7 is the fundamental number the planetary cycles are built on.

The 9th is the most expressly joyous and beautiful of this series, IMO.

The 5th is about fun and collective talents. Its magnetic and draws attention to itself and initially is probably more noticable than the septile or the novile but is less spiritual.

Bucketrider,

thanks for your reply.
I myself have some septile-aspects (Sun, Moon and Mercury conjunct in the 7th harmonic with Pluto being opposite - which means Pluto would be in a semi-septile I think).

And yes, this aspect always puzzled me, because somehow to me Libra never seemed THAT spiritual.

But the 7 seems to be important to me -It`s my name-number and I have been born at 7:07 a.m; it also appears in some of my planetary positions like:
Sun: 25° (which is interesting, since the number of my consonants in my name equals a 2 and the number of my vowels equals a 5)

Moon: 17°
Mercury: 25°
Saturn: 16°
ASC: 07°
Karma: 16°
Juno: 16°
my name asteroid: 16°
Valentine: 27°

I think it is interesting that the 7 always seems to pop up in my life. And don`t ask me about the 7th july of 2007 - that was the strangest day, which definitely had a very mystical, hard to understand quality to me. lol

But feeling this connection to the number 7 doesn`t mean I understand it though.

But I realized that it also popped up in the synastry with that singer, who also seems to be in tune with the 7.
His name number is 7, too, with the consonants also equal 7. He has been born on the 7th day of a month.

And his planetary positions are:
Sun: 16°
Mercury: 7°
Pluto: 7°
NN: 16°
Karma: 7°
Valentine: 25°

And of course there are some septile-aspects between our horoscopes:

his Mercury, Eros, SN - my Sun, Moon, Mercury, Eros
his Venus - my Pluto
his Mars - my ASC
his Uranus - my Neptune, NN
his Pluto / Valentine - my Saturn
His NN - my Jupiter

And I`m pretty sure if I`m looking for septiles in other synastries I will find some, it just seems as if I`m resonating to this aspect.
Probably no surprise, since the septile between my Sun and Moon is rather close (only 14 minutes of arc).

In Numerology, 7 is a mystical number and it is associated with Neptune in Western Astrology.

That's probably why 7th harmonic aspects are associated with the mystical.

Kepler rejected aspects based upon geometric figures like the 7-sided septagon and 9-sided nonagon because they cannot be constructed with straight-edge and compasses — the only instruments permissible in classical geometry. He regarded such figures as 'unknowable' and declared that "God did not employ the septagon and other figures of this species to embellish the world. http://www.skyscript.co.uk/kepler.html

I don't believe that harmonics should be associated with the zodiac signs...especially when you beyond the 12th harmonic. I believe that the harmonics fit better with Numerology. The Waxing and Waning 12th harmonic series aspect work seem to correspond with the 12th zodiac signs though.

I know an astrologer that checked a person's 7th harmonic chart because his birthday number was 7. She believed that the 7th harmonic chart would be important to look at because he was born on the 7th. That's very unique perspective. I am not sure if it makes sense, but I was born on 29th. 29 reduces to 11. I actually have a prominent 11th harmonic in my natal chart including not only Sun-Jupiter,Moon-Midheaven 11th harmonic aspects, but but a 6 point harmonic syndrome of Mercury,Mars,Saturn,Uranus,Ascendant that has 4 corresponding direct midpoint pictures. If I include Sedna, then I have 6 corresponding direct midpoint pictures. All of them are within 1 degree orb.

as far as 7th harmonic synastry goes

I have Sun septile Ascendant - '28
my girlfriend's Sun triseptiles my Sun - '23
and my Ascendant - '04
to form a 7th harmonic isosceles triangle with a corresponding midpoint pictures of
her Sun oppose my Sun/Ascendant midpoint - '09

I have Venus septile Pluto - '32 which adds to my Venus in Scorpio and Venus trine North Pluto Node.

Hello Glaucus,

"I don't believe that harmonics should be associated with the zodiac signs...especially when you beyond the 12th harmonic. I believe that the harmonics fit better with Numerology."
Actually I think the harmonics fit best with the nature of the aspects, because a harmonic is just a chart to see a particular aspect-series more clearly.
So I guess the 7th harmonic resonates with the septile as the 3rd harmonics resonates with the trine.
Am I making sense here?

" know an astrologer that checked a person's 7th harmonic chart because his birthday number was 7."
Well that brings me back to the 9th harmonic chart, since my birthday is the 18th.

actually I was referring to harmonic aspects in the 1st harmonic chart(regular chart) like checking out septile, biseptile, triseptile

I didn't mean the harmonic charts themselves.
I don't use them myself.

I just check out minor harmonic aspects in synastry with 1 degree orb and put special attention if they form harmonic triangles...especially if they have corresponding midpoint pictures.
