Okay, I've pretty much got sign descriptions down. I want to learn about house descriptions and chart rulers now. Like for example, ive seen people post stuff to the effect of "I bet there's a lot of 8th house action going in their chart."I want to learn the houses just like I know the signs. I need the cliffnotes version, that's why I'm asking you guys. Give me some descriptions on each house and how it affetcs the sun, moon, and Venus for right now (I wanna stat slow LOL). When I get them down, I want to learn about merc, Saturn, mars, and Neptune after that. I know I could easily go to cafeastrology or astro.com but like I said, I want your versions (sorry LOL, its the gemini gister in me!). Also, how do I figure out chart rulers and what role do they play? ------------------ Virgo Asc & Mars Gemini Sun Libra Moon Gemini Mercury Cancer Venus IP: Logged |

A chart ruler is the planet that rules your ascendant. For instance, my ascendant is in Gemini, so my chart ruler is Mercury.Quick run down of what the houses mean (and what sign is the natural ruler of each house): 1st: Your identity - Aries 2nd: Your sense of material security (money) - Taurus 3rd: How you communicate - Gemini 4th: Your home - Cancer 5th: Creativity, Romance and Children (some say sex) - Leo 6th: Everyday work & health - Virgo 7th: Your relationships/marriage/business partnerships - Libra 8th: Sex, Death & joint finances - Scorpio 9th: higher education, religion, travel - Sagittarius 10th: How you relate to the public & your career - Capricorn 11th: Friends & groups - Aquarius 12th: your Subconcious - Pisces If you know the signs really well, you can match up what the signs mean to each house. It's much easier to remember that way. Here are the natural planetary rulers of each house: 1st: Mars 2nd: Venus 3rd: Mercury 4th: Moon 5th: Sun 6th: Mercury 7th: Venus 8th: Pluto 9th: Jupiter 10th: Saturn 11th: Uranus 12th: Neptune IP: Logged |

Amowls covered it. I would have said the same thing: the houses are equivalent to the signs in the same order.IP: Logged |

And the "House" is the Environment the Planet (aspect of your personality) does it's job (Sign your Planet is in).So if your Mars (the aggressive, active, fiery, warrior like, part of you who gets things done and takes over in situations who call for that part of you) is in Virgo, that part of you (your masculine warrior self *think The Rock or Brad Pitt in Troy*) shows up with a Virgo costume on (*think the skinny guy from the Odd Couple or a librarian complete with glasses and bun in a nurses uniform) ... all calm, cool, collected, coldly logical, less passionate, more discriminating, possibly finicky and health conscience... the usual sign stereotypical behavior. So we have Brad Pitt bulging out of a nurses uniform with his hair in a bun and granny spectacles on... If this Mars in Virgo (see above lol) is in your 5th house, it might show up more in romance, with your children, battling with others over choices in entertainment... that sort of thing... since the 5th house relates to Leo... and Leo (veeeeeery basically) relates to romance, children, and entertainment. At least that's how it plays out in my Mars in Aquarius in the first house mind... (Brad Pitt in Mad Scientist attire... an explosive brilliant inventive genius one minute and an absentminded, tripping over his own shoelaces while carrying the invention Jerry Lewis character the next... wish I could type that sound he makes lol) IP: Logged | |
