When I had a boyfriend I challenged him too because it was just too much, so we decided that if I take him out, as a treat, I would get to pay... but even so he used to try some trick to pay anyways.

Aries - Not Free-be Chasers. Once they are into something, they want it no matter what cost.

Taurus - Free-be Chasers. Cautious and always need to acquire physical material at discount. But I have seen some really stupid Taurus people.

Gemini - Not Free-be Chasters. Although very logical, they love to wonder around and spend for new experiences

Cancer - Free-be Chasers. Watch how they love to reuse plastic bottles ;-)

Leo - Not Free-be Chasers. The most generous sign. In fact, Free-be stuff will hurt their Ego. They love to pay for their service.

Virgo - Free-be Chasers. Highly analytical in finding best possible cost. Some who are very detailed oriented are really stingy, others are generous in helping because they are selfless.

Libra - Not Free-be Chasers. Highly royale and attractive folks. They'll spend generously on beauty and charming services. But watch them go through Balancing process before they come to conclusion.

Scorpio - Not Free-be Chasers - only if money spent is to achieve higher control or higher status. Highly discriminating. They won't pay unless they know the service is fine quality and proven. Watch them go through highest level of investigation before they buy Cars, Houses or Clothes.

Sag - Not Free-be Chasers - ruled by Jupiter, these are party loving folks. Money is always spent generously to continously find new adventures. Watch them spend on Books, Travel, Spiritual stuff, Parties etc.

Capricorn - Somewhere in between - Most of them at later age 40+ will not be Free-be chasers as they would have reached their mountain or confidence level. But at young age, watch them looking for Money and Discounts.

Aquarius - Not Free-be Chasers. They will pay for the parties, groups, humanity and friends. But they love to logically think and go through Uranian thinking that doesn't exist in books. Watch them closely how they conflict against Virgos.

My mother ~ ironically a Leo ~ cuts open the toothpaste tubes and scrapes the remains out to save waste. She hates waste. But as she grew up in poverty and on rationing, it would be unfair to criticise. Fast-forward 60 years and she is right up to date with ecological concerns about carbon footprints.

Earth/water is more introverted and often seek quiet and peace, tend to worry more about security so they tend to spend less.

Let's take me for example. Virgo Sun and Venus which squares my Neptune and Uranus respectively.

I spend a lot of money on people. I like taking people out to dinners most of all, and if I invited you, it's not likely that I expect you to pay.

I am not label conscious and I buy what looks best on me, so in my closet I have pricey items as well as cheap items.

I am particular about certain brands though, like my perfumes, face washes, and make-up, which are pricey BUT no matter how broke I am, I will still invest in them. I would rather be without than use something else, cheaper or not. So, I am a brand loyal person, if I have found something that works for me.

I am slightly careless with money, or not as careful as the people around me. if I see something I like, I buy it. But, I am not crazy enough to buy things on credit unless it's bigger things like a car. Even that makes me uncomfortable because I hate debt, even though I have some.

I think this is my reason for my habits:

My Venus is conflicted in Virgo, making me not as decadent as I would like to be. My Neptune in the 2nd house squares my Virgo sun so I don't typically spend like most Virgos. Uranus squares my Venus, so i suppose that I am not as free as others with cash.

I live a very minimalistic life, but I think it's circumstance than preference.

When I am out, I am always buying people drinks. It's my way of saying "hello". My friends even start to threaten taking my wallet away. Living in the city, people assume that girls are out to get men's money, so the first thing I do, when I get into an environment is let the guys know that I will accept a treat, but it's not because I need it.

I like taking my friends to events like comedy shows, so if we are not on the list, I am happy to buy tickets. Unless I am really broke, I won't ask for people to reimburse me because I get times when they treat me.

My friends and I don't count pennies, and those that don't are me and my Cap sun/Virgo Moon friend. The rest are always trying to get a free meal. These are the Cancer and the Sagittarius ones. I don't know if their behaviour is exclusive to me, but all my Earth sign friends are always generous to me.

I seldom buy people tangible things though. I buy people experiences, and yes, I usually regret it the next day when I see my bank statement, but like magic "Voila" I always get the money back somehow.

If I buy presents, I usually give away vouchers to a spa, or to shop (for yourself), or host your dinner party. I also buy a lot of flowers for people.

I buy people presents all the time because if I see something that I think someone might like, I buy it. But it is usually little things with sentimental value. I don't just buy people stuff that's nice but meaningless.

If you come to me to borrow money, I won't give it to you. Instead I will render the service you require. So, if you need money to pay a bill, I'll ask to transfer funds directly to that bill. If I am broke, I will say I can't help, and I won't feel guilty about it.

So, I think that because my Virgos are badly aspected, I am not as tight-handed as I should be, and because my Jupiter is well aspected, it makes me less stingy too.

I am a financial wizard for other people's money, but I need a financial adviser to look after my @ss because I simply love giving if I can give. That's why I am always fighting with men about the bill - but I have had it explained to me and I understand that it's a male ego thing, so I let 'em pay...
