I did so called “Persona Charts” for the name asteroids of me and my partner. I thought they could work like “natal charts” of the name asteroids, as positioned in the chart of me and my partner – and that via this method, I could see how my partner might perceive me, what his (subconscious) “idea” of me looks like etc.The method is simple: You look up the exact position of your partner’s name asteroid in your chart (and vice versa) - and then create a “natal chart” which has the Sun in exactly that position. You choose the next possible position for that Sun-placement. It might fall into the year after your partner’s birthdate. That means: If your partner is born in October 1972 for instance, and your name asteroid in his natal chart is in a late Pisces-degree, I’d chose the next possible Pisces-position, which would then be in 1973. (Hope this is easy to understand, no native speaker, sorry.) Then I did a Synastry with the name-asteroid’s chart and the natal chart (of me and my partner, respectively) – I used tight orbs only (0-1dg.) - and came to interesting insights. For example: MY NAME-ASTEROID CHART (“Eve”) to HIS NATAL Eve’s ASC cj. his MC and Anteros Eve’s 5th house cusp cj. his PLUTO Eve’s URANUS cj. his ASC Eve’s VENUS cj. his own name asteroid Eve’s PALLAS cj. his Point of “Marriage” Eve’s JUNO cj. his PALLAS Eve’s SATURN cj. his Points of “Partners” and “Bondage” Eve’s 11th house cusp cj. his SATURN Eve’s CHIRON-cj.-CERES cj. his DC Eve’s N.N. cj. his Sun/Saturn-Midpoint So, from his perspective, my name asteroid brings quite a heavy load of Saturnian elements to him - themes of “Marriage”, “serious bonding” – being sincerely loved, but also influenced and disciplined by “EVE”. It also leeds him to develop a new perspective on his own personality, like a new “mirror” of himself. HIS NAME-ASTEROID CHART (“Adam”) to MY NATAL
Adam’s ASC-cj.-JUNO cj. my own SATURN Adam’s SUN oppos. my own MERCURY Adam’s MOON oppos. my own MARS Adam’s IC cj. my own SUN Adam’s S.N. cj. my own BM LILITH Adam’s 5th house cusp conjunct my Point of “Fate” Adam’s MARS-cj-JUPITER-cj-NEPTUNE cj. my Point of “Passion” Adam’s 8th house cusp cj. my Point of “Libido” Adam’s VESTA cj. my MOON So, from my perspective, his name asteroid brings about some kind of “obligation” - I feel passionately about him and a bit “responsible” for him – but “Adam” also puts a damper on my feelings, demands some discipline and challenges (hinders) my mode of self-expression. Try it, if you want to get an additional perspective on your relationship - it's interesting! ;-) IP: Logged |

I'm intrigued by persona charts, but, to me, that seems too speculative.IP: Logged |

I am also intrigued about persona chart. I haven`t yet made up my mind, if I truely believe in them, but I remember doing the 'Venus persona chart gave some very interesting insights. However, I am always open to try out new astrological ideas. And it actually makes sense to me to use the personal asteroids for this. What do you think does the persona chart of the name asteroid mean? Does that reflects how someone else thinks that I am? Example: If I make the persona chart of my name in his chart, and this persona chart shows a close Sun-Chiron-conjunction, does he see me that way? That I am seriously wounded (Chiron) in the creative expression of myself (Sun in 3rd persona-house)? And the synastry with his natal would show how he is influenced by his image of me? In that example: this Sun-chiron-conjunction conjuncts his Chiron and opposes his Pluto, so he reacts to the wound, he perceives in me, with rejection and the urge to control and manipulate (Pluto), because it reminds him of his very own wound (his Chiron)? On the other hand the Moon of the persona chart is in Taurus in 5th house (he has a Taurus-Moon himself) exactly conjunct his Venus; he perceives my emotional nature as Taurus-like, stable, warm, maybe a bit unmoveable. This Persona Moon is exactly conjunct his Venus, so he finds this emotional quality quite pleasant? Is that how you would interprete those placements? DD IP: Logged |

Hi Alvarella, I haven't experimented much with persona charts... Morning AG and DD ! DD...why don't you try it the other way around and see if it's accurate in showing how you feel about other people? You're amazing at interpreting aspects and that way you'll know if this method works for you as well. 8th IP: Logged |

8th, thank you for the compliment on my aspect-interpretations. And thank you for the great idea.
I had another idea, slightly crazy, I admit. But I guess the longest relationship all of us will ever have, is with ourselves, so I did a persona chart on my name in my chart. Probably it would show how I see myself, and how my true self (natal) interacts with my own perception of myself (persona). The Persona chart has an AScendant EXACTLY between Taurus and Gemini. Sun, Chiron, Moon and Jupiter fall into the 12th hosue - I always wondered why there is so little action in my 12th house. When I started doing astrology I expected to have a lot of planets in the 12th house, not only Mars. And my persona of my name seems to confirm that image. I am a mystery to myself? Or well, probably I would only be a mystery to myself, if my persona planets would fall into my natal 12th house.
But the dominance of 12th house in my persona chart could indicate that I see myself as spiritual, complicated and confused, which I definitely am. But in the natal I have Neptune conjunct Mars, NN and ASC, so my natal actually backs up my persona chart in this. The persona chart has NN on the DSC - I perceive myself as someone whose relationships will define my lifepath? In the natal chart I have NN on the ASC - so actually, the opposite is true: I need to be myself foremost. Mercury is in Gemini in 1st hosue in persona chart - I see myself as someone who needs to communicate. In the natal chart I have MErcury in SAgittarius conjunct Sun in 1st house, so that fits.
Exact Moon - Jupiter conjunction in 12th house trines Neptune in 7th exactly: a tendency to idolize partners and to become too enthusiastic and feeling drawn to "impossible" relationships, which seem to be bigger than life? Yup, that sounds very much like me. Psyche-Chiron - conjunction in 12th house looks like a very vulnerable persona. This Psyche - Chiron trines VAlentine in 8th house and sextiles Venus in 2nd house. Healing the wounds in my soul (Psyche / Chiron) through love (Venus opposite Valentine)? Mercury in 1st house exactly trine Pluto in 6th house: a probing mind? my name in Gemini in the 1st house: I identify with my name? I wonder, what does t he persona chart itself say exacttly? Does it tell us how we PERCEIVE ourselves? Or does it add a little layer of how we ARE?
However, if I make a synastry with my natal:
Persona DSC conjuncts Valentine Persona Mercury conjuncts DSC Persona Mercury opposes Mars Persona Mercury trines MC Persona Moon / Jupiter opposes Pluto Persona Moon / Jupiter trine Neptune / NN Persona Venus opposes Sun / Mercury Persona Chiron / Psyche trine Sun / Mercury PErsona Karma square Pluto Persona Karma trine Jupiter Persona Karma oposite Isis / Osiris Persona VAlentine conjunct Sun / Mercury PErsona Isis conjunct IC PErsona Isis trine Mars PErsona Osiris sextile Venus Persona name conjunct Karma Persona name trine Moon Seems I have a rather strong relationship with myself.

Well, I looked up the meaning of persona charts, and it seems that they are NOT a thing of perception, but that they actually are a closer look at your inner personalities. For example: your natal actually is a chart of your Sun-personality (your birthday). Theory of persona charts now sais, that you can have a look at your Venus, Mars etc, just the same; you can erect the chart for the time the Sun brings those personalities to life by transiting over their exact position for the first time. WEll, to cut this short, it seems like the persona chart looks as the complex and individual nature of a certain planet or area of life, like Venus for relationships. So, it does make sense to look at the persona chart of our names, since we usually are influenced by our names, too. However, all this only works, if you believe in the use of persona charts. However, of course I had a look at Musicman`s name in my chart.
Synastric aspects from PERSONA CHART to my NATAL: Moon / Pluto in my natal 10th house NN / Valentine / Neptune and Mars in my natal 1st house Sun in my natal 2nd house MErcury, Venus in my natal 3rd house Juno, Chiron in my natal 4th house Karma in my natal 7th house Saturn and Eros in my natal 8th house aspects: (Persona planets first) - only conjunction, opposite, trine
ASC trines my Venus Sun trines my Pluto Moon exactly conjuncts my Pluto Moon trine my DSC Moon trine my SN Mercury conjunct my Psyche Venus trine my Uranus Mars conjunct my VEnus (!), Isis and Osiris Jupiter conjunct my Juno NN conjunct my Mars NN conjunct my ASC exactly Karma conjunct my SN Karma opposite my Neptune Valentine conjunct my NN ERos conjunct my VErtex Psyche conjunct my Jupiter Isis trine my DSC Juno conjunct my IC Juno trine my Mars Juno trine my ASC Juno opposite my Pluto

DD,Great analyses as ever! Hi Alvarella i also have been interested in Persona but actually i didnt understood very well how you did that analysis - how do you create a chart with choosing the sun´s position? And the name asteroids, did you chose them of natal or the persona charts? However i did found some conectiions really interesting! On the Persona,i chose different planets/asteroids just to see how name asteroids would resonate. Using ( Moon) in Persona his Anna wide conj mt natal DSC(4)/Npetune His Anna conj my natal Union/Destinn(3) My Jonnhy opose his Neptune/conj his Kiron exact/trine his Venus(1) My JohnPaul conj his ASC(3) Using Asteroid Valentine(447)in Persona His Anna conj my Draco Destinn exact His Anna trine my Moon His Valentine conj my Draco ASC(2) My Johny conj his NN(3) and conj my own draco asc My Anna conj his ASC Using asteroid 3811 KARMA in Persona his Anna conj his Persona JohnPaul His Anna exact opose my Pluto/trine my Venus and Neptune almost exact(1) His Valentine conj my NN(2)and trine his own Venus His KARMA conj his own draco venus and natal Valentine! My JohnPaul opose his natal ANNA! and also his draco Valentine My Johnny conj his NN once again!!and my draco ASC! My VALENTINE conj his natal Venus!(2) My KARMA conj his Sun(3) My ANNA conj his ASC(3)! Now USING OUR NAME ASTEROIDS IN THE PERSONA IN THE OTHER´S NATAL CHART: Using asteroid Anna in his Persona: His Anna conj my draco Isis and opose my ASC(2)! His VALENTINE conj my natal ANNA EXACT!!!ALSO,conj his DRACO AMOR EXACT, conj my Kiron(3) His KARMA conj my Draco Union/Destinn exact/ trine my Sun(1)-conj his own KARMA! His JonnPaul conj my NN EXACT! Using asteroid Jonnhy 3252 in my Persona: My Jonnhy conj his KARMA EXACT! ALSO...conj exact his Draco Moon... My Valentine (conj my own venus natally), conj his Draco Mars;conj his Natal ANNA(3).Trine his own JohnPaul(1) My ANNA conj his dRACO AMOR EXACT!!AND MY OWN natal ANNA!Oposes his natal Mars My JOHNPAUL conj my own draco ASC/conj his NN once AGAIN!! Okay, and now something for "real-life" - in this case a friendship. I looked at the synastry between the Persona chart of my best friend and my natal. Since, we have been friends for more than 16 years now, through thick and thin, good and bad (and believe me, there were REAL bad times), I expect to find some strong connections. Her Persona chart - my natal:
DSC conjunct my Valentine MErcury opposite my Chiron Venus sextile my Vertex Mars opposite my Vesta Mars trine my Uranus Jupiter sextile my Moon Jupiter square my Saturn Jupiter conjunct my Chiron Saturn square my Uranus NN trine my Vertex Chiron trine my Sun Chiron trine my Mercury Vertex sextile my Sun Vertex sextile my Mercury Vertex trine my Psyche Karma square my Sun Karma square my Mercury Karma sextile my Valentine Valentine conjunct my Vesta Ceres conjunct my Karma Ceres trine my Moon Vesta trine my Saturn (and conjunct my Juno) Vesta sextile my name Pallas trine my Saturn (conj. my Juno) Pallas sextile my name Psyche conjunct my Karma Psyche trine my Moon Amor trine my Uranus Amor sextile my Vesta MY PERSONA CHART - HER NATAL
DSC conjunct her Ceres MC square her Saturn MC sextile her Vesta Sun square her Neptune Sun sextile her Vesta Moon trine her Mercury Moon conjunct her Amor MErcury squar eher Neptune Mercury sextile her Vesta Venus sextile her Mercury Venus sextile her Venus Venus sextile her Mars Venus sextile her Pluto Venus trine her Neptune Venus sextile her Amor Mars / Jupiter trine her Karma Saturn conjunct her Psyche Saturn conjunct her Ceres SN conjunct her Moon Chiron conjunct her SN my name opposite her Moon Vesta conjunct her Sun exactly ! Vesta square her Valentine Pallas conjunct hr Mercury Psyche trine her Jupiter Amor sextile her Ceres It does make sense to me that there are so many sextiles and Vesta and Ceres - aspects. The sextile is the aspect, I connect with frienships the most, and I`ve read that Vesta can symbolize friendships, too. Ceres - well, we feel very responsible for each other and of course care a lot. Even though I suspect that she is more caring than I am.

Hey, your replies are fascinating, especially yours, DARKDREAMER : quote: I wonder, what does t he persona chart itself say exactly? Does it tell us how we PERCEIVE ourselves? Or does it add a little layer of how we ARE? (…) Well, I looked up the meaning of persona charts, and it seems that they are NOT a thing of perception, but that they actually are a closer look at your inner personalities. (…) So, it does make sense to look at the persona chart of our names, since we usually are influenced by our names, too.
That’s just about how I see and rate the impact of Persona Charts: They shed a light on the character/inner workings of a certain point in our personality. As far as one’s own Name Asteroid goes … I see that as a mixture of subconscious and conscious perception of “self” for a person – yeah, we are “influenced by our names” – and also, how other people speak to us (via our names), how they address us, what they talk about us … Our name is like our “identity card” in this life – and it is something our parents chose for us – so it is like a “label” that sticks to us and that we have to cope with, during a lifetime. For me … it feels like a mixture of a “verbal Ascendant” … and the mirror we get from other people … and the way we feel about the “idea” of our own personality. (By the way: There are some sociological/psychological studies concerning names … claiming that certain names provoke certain feelings/expectations with people … like: many “a”’s in a female name is perceived as “strong” and “attractive”, whereas many “e”’s and “i”s rather are perceived as “cute” or “harmless”.) I guess, that many of such subtle reactions fall back on us during a lifetime … that the name is the verbal “image” we carry.
BY THE WAY: Your idea to study your name-Persona more closely is great – it inspired me!!! And I’ll be back with mine soon! ;-) Your question, DIANDRA 23 : How to do a persona chart? I try to explain it better:
Say, your name-asteroid is “Diandra” ;-) and it is positioned at 21 dg Auqaurius. – okay? You then go to you usual astrology-programme and create a chart, in which the Sun is positioned exactly at 21 dg Aqua. How to do that? Well, you just have to try and error a bit – 21 dg is in the last third of that sign – so it would be a “birthday” between the middle and late middle of Feburary … Just try out several dates in the respective period … until you find a day, when the sun is exactly on that 21st degree. The more correct you can set this date with minutes etc. (like: 21.44 dg), the better. You can do this by changing the “birthtime” on the matching date. You just have to shuffle that newly created chart a bit, until the sun ist in the exact position, as the name asteroid your’e interested in has in your natal chart. If you you have found that “Sun-position”, the chart that evolves around it (all the other planets, Moon, Mars, etc.) – they make up the “natal chart” of the asteroid you want to study. You can then start to research the “personality” of that asteroid (how it works, his weaknesses and strengths). You take a look at it as if it was a “player” on its own – in order to better understand how it might influence your natal horoscope. You then can start to do synastries etc. with it. Important: The year! Always chose the year you are born in – or: the NEXT possible position for the Sun AFTER your own birthday. If, say, you’re a Taurus born 1981, but you’re natal Moon is in 12 dg Aries (Aries chronogically comes “before” Taurus, it’s an “earlier” sign than Taurus) … you’d have to take the NEXT time after your birthday for the persona chart for your Moon – not go backwards, but forwards. You would then look up the Moon’s 12th in Aries for 1982 – not 1981 – put the SUN there … and start to create your Moon’s persona. Hope, that helps. See you later!
