Some Saturn contacts for durability, stability and effort would be helpful.

Yes, in synastry, Saturn is essential for a meaningful connection, durability of the relationship, etc. But I thought the OP meant what placements in a person's natal chart indicate a good marriage? I've known Venus in the 7th to indicate a very happy marriage. And I personally think it helps if one has good planets in Libra or at least if he or she has no malefic planets in Libra (natural ruler of the 7th).

Hello,

A man, I have a lovely Venus Descendant trine and Sun=Mars/Venus. Those three planets form a harmonious 9th harmonic triangle.
For stability, I have a Saturn Venus contra-parallel.
Also, my 7th house Neptune is trine Chiron.

Maybe I got the wrong end of the stick there, but logically synastry is going to help you most. It takes two to make a marriage happy.

I've got Venus in the 7th, btw.

Am I happily married? He works away a lot. Send him off to an oil-rig, we'll be the happiest couple in town.

Something like Jupiter conjunct Venus in the 7th house.

I think Saturn brings longevity, not necessarily happiness.

With regard to synastry it helps if someone has a planet that stabilizes a difficult natal aspect:

person a - has venus 10 libra square saturn 10 cancer
person b - has saturn 10 gemini that trines person a's venus

The basic interplay of venus saturn is still apparent however the effects in the relationship are such that the natal aspect is smoothed, making its effects more "positive" by association, and then there is free will to take that learned association into the self to move forward in life.

One of my definitions of happiness.

I have 4th and 5th in Cancer and 8th in Scorpio. My seventh house doesn't fall in a water house, but it's in Libra. Been happily married since 1994.

I would say good synastry with as many planets/signs as possible, but especially with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and the Moon.

I'd also say that it depends on what kind of dynamic you want in the relationship. Trines are good for harmony, but oppositions might be good if you want to complement each other or even argue a bit. Squares, though difficult, could help you grow as people. Conjunctions might be good if you want someone who is like-minded.

Hey Diandra,

I agree about the cinderella natal aspects. I have

chiron parallel venus in geo
chiron contra parallel venus in helio
venus quincunx neptune
chiron quincunx AC - not sure what that means!

I don't really understand the cinderella aspects. From what I have seen Chiron moves really slowly, like an outer planet. So basically one generation will have it in the same sign. Example, I was born in 1979 and everyone in that year has Chiron in Taurus between aprox. 5 and 13 degrees. So anyone with venus in Taurus will have a Cinderella aspect with every person born that year. That doesn't make much sense to me. Am I understanding this incorrectly?
