I've often heard and read about the aspects of Saturn with another planets in synastry but I've never heard (a little) something about the saturn in the houses, because I think Saturn have a lot to do with relationship, without Saturn, nothing, I mean nothing is serius in a relationship, we can add Pluto, but Pluto is more a generational planet, Saturn has a lot to do with Karma as well, so I want to know your experiences about it specially if Saturn is in the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses.

Regards

Saturn in 7th house gives seriousness of a realtionship as well as frustrations from the partner. Most likely the person fails in relationships until the age of 30.. The Saturn Return..

For Long Run, I have heard this is a good aspect because the person values marriage seriously. But at the same time there is always hard work invovled with this aspect in marriage.

Saturn in 4th is troublesome in terms of having deep emotional relationship with Family - most likely mother at early stage of life and eventually the Spouse.. it almost feels like every emotional cancerian type loving expressions are blocked if they dont pass the 'Saturn practicality test'.

Of course other aspects matter and it is not advisable to only look at Saturn in the House or just signs. I recommend Liz Greene's Saturn book. It is an eye opener. Somewhere on this site you will find free online links.

I guess this is originally meant as a thread about SATURN in SYNASTRY-HOUSES – if I am right here. I find that topic quite interesting, since SATURN is claimed to be attached to “Karma” so much. I checked some Synastries from my personal archives … This is the outcome:

Serious/long lasting love affairs/relationships with men:

- his Saturn in my 4th / my Saturn in his 10th (cj. his MC)
- his Saturn in 7th / my Saturn in his 4th
- his Saturn in my 5th / my Saturn in his 10th

Platonic friendships (with men), long lasting, serious, no way “erotic”:

- his Saturn in my 3rd/my Saturn in his 11th
- his Saturn in my 3rd/my Saturn in his 8th
- his Saturn in my 4th/my Saturn in his 11th
- his Saturn in my 4th/my Saturn in his 9th
- his Saturn in my 5th/my Saturn in his 11th
- his Saturn in my 6th/my Saturn in his 2nd
- his Saturn in my 11th/my Saturn in his 12th

“Unrequited love”/one-sided affection - or volatile/complicated affairs:

- his Saturn in my 3rd/my Saturn in his 9th
- his Saturn in my 3rd/ my Saturn in his 1st
- his Saturn in my 3rd/my Saturn in his 2nd
- his Saturn in my 4th/my Saturn in his 1st
- his Saturn in my 4th/my Saturn in his 4th
- his Saturn in my 5th/my Saturn in his 3rd
- his Saturn in my 6th/my Saturn in his 5th
- his Saturn in my 12th (cj. ASC)/my Saturn in his 1st (cj ASC)

So – this small “test group” suggests three ideas, obviously:

1.) Saturn in the angular houses of your partner seems to favour serious/lasting relationships. (With Saturn in the 1st of your partner being some exception/see idea no.3.)

2.) “Platonic friendship” might be supported by Saturn in the 11th house, indeed.

3.) Saturn in 3rd house of a partner makes affairs of the heart/romantic affairs complicated and “unfriendly” from a certain point onwards – it may stifle your personal way of expressing yourself, maybe?

So does Saturn in the most personal houses of you/your partner, houses 1 and 4 (depending on the involved aspects, of course.).

Anyone agree on that? Anyone protesting? ;-)

Hi everyone
would you consider Saturn to be as enduring in synastry conjuncting the ascendant from the 12th house?

I've noticed Saturn very much in 1st and 1oth house with my family members and with my sons.

My Saturn is in my partner's 3rd which does make for some stiffling communication but can be realistic and responsible communication also at times and his Saturn is conjunct my ascendant from the 12th.

Hi Quinnie,

I'ver experienced the Saturn in 12th house/cj. ASC-placement in Synastry (it's listed in my small list above, last row). For me, it felt like: taking the other person very seriously - much mutual respect (and from that ... a certain degree of "distance" - but not neccessarily in a negative way.)

Sounds about right it's in Libra though(we both have Saturn in Libra) . Perhaps it quite karmic since the 12th house is karmic. It's probably quite a flexible placement could be a spiritual teacher or friend or partner etc ( he could be all those things to me) but the sign Libra then maybe focuses it towards a relationship then.

Saturn is in the 12th house in my chart though do you think that would effect things?

Hello alvarella…

Hope you’re having a great day. Just wanna ask you about your Saturn placing in one of your serious/long lasting love relationship, the first line. When your Saturn was in his 10th house conjunct his MC. What was that like? Did it affect you more or him? I agree with your statement:-

3.) Saturn in 3rd house of a partner makes affairs of the heart/romantic affairs complicated and “unfriendly” from a certain point onwards – it may stifle your personal way of expressing yourself, maybe?

I have sort of experienced this, my close friend's Saturn is in my 3rd house and boy does it suffocate her a lot. It’s so hard for her to just tell me any affairs of the heart. I know her for almost 5 years; I’ve never heard a birthday wish from her. Not complianing. But I always get nice gifts from her thou and last year when she got married, I was the last to know… Loooollllllllll…. Well what ever happens she’ll remain one of my dearest friend.

As far as i know, where the others Saturn fall in your chart shows the area where he/she has a serious lesson to teach you.

Like someone's Saturn falls in my 2nd house, and he has taught me about how to value myself more and helped me to find my real self...

And many, many other things...

Hi all!

Interesting topic!

I was seeing and my saturn is in his 8th house and his saturn is in my 8th house too... anybody knows what this means?

We are together for almost 2 years.

We also have saturn conjunction venus, which I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing... I already read both!

Thanks for any comment! )

Hi ChotG,

the Combo of my Saturn conjunct my BF's MC was a very strong combination. (In fact, we stayed together sincerely for almost 5 years). How did it effect us? Well, that guy taught me a lot. He was much more "mature" than I had been at the time we met - although there are only 3 years of age-difference between us. But while I was just 19 and just had finished shool, he was an advanced student of the law already. Apart from that, he had a huge knowledge on music and pop-culture - a topic I had always been very interested in. (Both my Saturn and his MC are in Taurus, Venusian-bound, with a serious interest in arts & culture with both of us.) He really opened new horizons to me in these regards - and I was eager and willing to learn from him - his MC "feeded" my Saturn, so to speak, put my knowledge on a more solid basis. I am not normally so "willing to follow someone's lead" ... ;-) But I accepted and respected and admired that guy for his keen observations and his knowledge. I felt like some kind of his disciple. (I never felt "subordinate", though.)

Another thing is, that we both took that relationship very serious. I was the first "real GF" for him,. That guy had some Macho-allures, was renowned for that. But somehow ... he seemed to respect me. He liked the fact that I stood up to him, looked him in the eye, was never "afraid" of him, but an equal player for him, in my own way. (My Saturn ... sometimes it was necessary to "dig in my heels" in order to stand up to him - and it worked and led to interesting situations and talks and all.)

The one not so easy side-effect of our Saturn-MC-conjunct was the fact, that he had mixed feelings about my own professional objectives. I was a very ambitious young woman - on the one hand he sort of "admired" my ambition - on the other hand he critized it - and seems to have feel threatened the older we both got and the further I went in my "career" ...

But all together we shared the same dreams and shared the seriousness of our respective objectives and supported each other. I guess both felt that we can rely on each other in any case. (It was one of the 2 BF's I had that I COULD have imagined to raise a family one day, maybe ....)

Hope that gives an impression.

I think Saturn in the 1st house of another person is a tight union, at the beginning you dont like that person but with the time you change your opinion, I think is a little bit similar with the aspects between Mars and Saturn, but I think is more like what the other person expresses and shows without efforts.

Wow alvarella…thanks so much for the insights. It really helps. I’m having some sort of similar situation with my subject of interest. My Saturn is conjunct his MC in Leo and coincidentally I’m three years younger than him too. We were in the same class for 1 semester in university and yeah I learn a LOT from him. From arts to science you name it.

We became mutual friends and started hanging out. He graduated earlier than me and would sometime come to my university and hang out although he has no business being there… LOLLLL...Career wise he has been supportive of my work. I had a really bad slump few years back in my work but he kept on convincing me that I would be ‘someone’ one day and kept on supporting me. I think he sort of admire my patience dealing with that not so good year. And for his career I admire him greatly, his darn hard working and dedicated. He put 1000% in his work. It seems like your case he respect me too for having my own way of dealing with him. His stubbornness mainly plus with his stelium in Taurus. Yikes!!

You must wonder why we haven’t gone into a more serious relationship together. Guess what his Saturn is in my 3rd house. Yeaaaah again an example of choking, stifling and suffocating effects regarding matters of the heart. LOLLL…

so which part of europe are you from alvarella? Spain? hehehe

I like the concept of where Saturn falls in synastry is where the other person 'teaches' you something (or slows you down!). I feel it makes a lot of sense.
I'm processing it and my relationships.
I just burned my finger and can't type too much, it hurts lol...i'll have to write more later!

So, with Saturn in the partner's 1st house- who would be more reluctant ( so to say) about the relationship : Saturn person or the house person? ( I belive alvarella 777 said something like that )

I met someone recently with whom I have the Saturn conjunct Ascendant double whammy aspect. His Saturn is in my 1st house and mine is in his 12th. To answer your question yellowmoon, with his Saturn in my 1st, I was initially reluctant to meet up and now he's the one is who is dragging his heels. It's a totally karmic connection - due to the Saturn aspects as well as nodal ones.

I tend to think that looking to each person's Saturn natally will give more clues as to who is likely to experience what effect. Natally, this guy has Saturn Rx so I'll bet that has some bearing on his behaviour. Also, since my Saturn technically falls into his 12th, that would mean my Saturn is activating that house - like a permanent transit. I'm sure I (and my Saturn) must be bringing up deeply rooted stuff for him.

I also had another relationship with someone who had his Rx Saturn in my 1st house, although not conjunct my Ascendant. We both have Saturn conjunct our IC so there was a similarity to the way we dealt with our deepest selves/our roots. Once again, in the beginning I was more reluctant but after a relatively short period of time, it was all good.

Both of these guys have their Moons squaring their Saturns so that adds to the flavour of their own Saturn in an emotionally inhibitory manner.

I think the way that we integrate our own Saturns will have a lot of bearing on how we perceive other's Saturn placements in our charts.

Please keep in mind, that my replies to this topic are based on my very personal, subjective "real life"-experiences only - so take it with a grain of salt.;-)

I don't mind telling a bit more about the eventual break-up-dynamics. By looking at these again, I came to notice: If someone's Saturn falls into my 5th house ... I hardly can feel any attraction for them! They're about to suffer some heartbreak by unrequited love.

1.) More or less "mutual" break-up - both parties decided to move on at about the same time and managed to make some sort of "friendship" out of the relationship:

His Saturn in my 4th / my Saturn in his 10th (cj. his MC)

2.) Bad break-up for the guy: He was left alone by me - I had the "evil" part and left him standing there:

His Saturn in my 5th / my Saturn in his 10th

and another case:

His Saturn in my 7th / my Saturn in his 4th

3.) The other way round: I felt abandoned, neglected, refused, the guy said "goodbye, not working" or hurt me in other ways:

His Saturn in my 12th (cj. my ASC) / my Saturn in his 1st (cj. his ASC)

another case:

His Saturn in my 3rd / my Saturn in his 9th

4) "Unrequited love": Boys being "after me" and trying to win my heart - but it's futile, I don't feel any attraction for them:

His Saturn in my 5th / my Saturn in his 9th

His Saturn in my 3rd / my Saturn in his 2nd

His Saturn in my 5th / my Saturn in his 3rd

His Saturn in my 5th / my Saturn in his 11th

His Saturn in my 4th / my Saturn in his 2nd

5.) And finally some "unclear", on-and-off-attractions that never really got off the ground but keep popping up again ...

Both our Saturns in the other's 5th house

Both our Saturns in the other's 4th house

His Saturn in my 6th / my Saturn in his 5th house

His Saturn in my 4th / my Saturn in his 1st house

Again ... Saturn in another person's 5th house seems to imply some compliactions, to say the least.

I've had Saturn falling into someone's 5th and his own Saturn falling into my 5th (I think). We were totally hot for each other! It was on and off, but I know he was into me, we were both into each other. However, there was always a very serious tone to the relationship.
I will say that I think it's complicated maybe because here Saturn is in the house of romance and love, going, "Don't come any close unless you're willing to be SERIOUS." It kind of puts a damper on things being fun. Saturn feels like it wants constant reassurance, but won't come out and say it, just acts dour and disapproving LOL. In the 5th house, it made things feel somber and tinged with instant seriousness.

Poor old Saturn in the 7th, he gets such a hard time.

But it's a great placement if you have a thing for older men.

The 7th also rules business partnerships, this has proved to be not significant in my life. My happiest working relationships tend to be with much older men.

6 of mny father's planets fall in my 7th house, including his Saturn.
