does there seem to be any correlation between the planets, the signs, and aspects of the natal chart and life-long recurring/general anxiety??

what about substance abuse?

please share your insights. thank you.

Yeah i think pluto causes this. Anyon ei know who ever had them panic attacks had them when pluto was asecting either the DC or ASC or IC,MC. You start feeling it when it gets close and before you know it your going crazy lol (speaking from experience) )

Look to Neptune for substance abuse also. I have Neptune squaring my Sun. Although I don't do drugs, nor drink, and now, I am no longer a smoker, it is not because I don't want to, but it is because I can easily be an addict to things so I just practice discipline to avoid such.

A strong Uranus in the natal chart for anxiety, in my experience Uranus speeds up the central nervous system and a highly Uranian individual, especially under a heavy Uranus transit, will be more prone to anxiety flare-ups.

Neptune for substance abuse/escapism. Strong Pisces influenced individuals, too!

Hmmmmm let me look at my chart and I shall tell you the indicators of anxiety in my chart. I have suffered from bad anxiety attacks and to cope with it I started singing karaoke and doing stand up comedy.

I have a Cancer moon - we worry alot and get fearful at times. Trine to neptune.

Saturn in the 12th house - a fear of losing control etc.....

I have a very very tight T square involving Sun and Uranus and Mars.

Venus and Neptune (6th house neppy) are square each other and I'm a Gem riser.

My nerves are so hard wired that it can be easy for me to get overwhelmed and upset. I'm sensitive to a lot of things.

I'm not sure what else to add but I sure know that I am able to comment or add something to this thread....I just hope that this was insightful for you, that's all....

ID

I'm about as clean as anybody could be - I hardly drink and have never tried drugs - my family doctor has to fight with me to get me to even take meds. Though I prefer naturopathic and natural ways to treat things.

the anxiety could be left over from a harsh childhood never having positive role models to give me effective guidance with my early life.....

Pluto in my chart doesn't have any adverse aspects...a sextile and a trine. Though when T Pluto squared natal Pluto I began to understand the power of Pluto influences....

I think it has to do with pluto transits. Pluto forces change!

It gets right inside your head and it stirs everything in it and then fu**s off leaving u feeling NEW! lol

When pluto came close to my IC i freaked out. One day in october 2004 i was watching the simpsons laughing with my brothers and as i was laughing BANG something hit me and i felt like suddenly i was disconnected fro the world and i was dead i felt like my soul left my body and i wasnt in this world i tried to run out the front door (dont know why) and i dropped to the ground i couldnt breathe i was screaming im dying LOL

Ambulance came my family freaked out i didnt recover for 3 yrs. As pluto got closer i got worse. I had a fear of death and thought i was gonna kill other people or myself and i took myself to the hospital plenty of times thinking if these panic things didnt end i would kill someone because i was sick of being not normal i was sick of fighting my subconcience and then one day last yr when a uranus trine sun transit came along and pluto trined venus i fell in love and i stopped having them gradually. I went overseas and i became this fresh new person.

But i went from about 40 panic attacks a day to almost nothing now. I dont panic now unless i take antihistamines or sudafed type tablets. I function normally ive accepted death as normal and ive moved on from it. The reason i panicked sooo much too was because i used to constantly ask if god is the greatest how did god get there?

I NEVER GOT AN ANSWER !

I never understood how i got here and what this worlds about and it made me question it for so long.

And pluto was also opposing my moon in 9th on my MC house of religion and now i dont believe in religion though i was very religious and was muslim i no longer believe in it after watching movies like zeitgeistmovie.com and so on.

I changed completly im still confused and with uranus in 3rd and gemini moon i needed answers!

But i think its like having a baby when you have the baby you forget all the pain and hurt your just happy and feel new. PLuto is similiar from what i experienced during that transit, to make things worse at the exact same time my progressed ascendant was moving into scorpio and i had pluto at the end of libra in my chart conjuncting my new progressed ascendant.

Seriously i felt possessed and evil and i thought the same of everyone else! Britney spears not long ago went through the same transit so i guess i can relate to her now as well. hhehehehehe

Now pluto moved back onto my IC but though i feel panic i know now im over it and pluto cant ruin me again.

I can't answer your question kate_o, but thanks for placing an answer in my thread about Venus in Scorpio composite.

I can really understand the intellectual/emotional thing that could happen. But what a HUGE shame the magnetism may not transfer literally to being physical....

In my experience uranus brings anxiety..
I have uranus conjunct venus, mars and sun.And in large orbs it sextiles my moon conjunct my mercury and square my saturn.
I have learned to expect the unexpected. My life is rarely boring but sometimes there are times you say "yes please keep going like this, don't change anything" you know, but uranus doesn't like routine..
Another minus;insomnia..
people feel bad and depressed when they don't get much sleep..

I think, where anxiety is concerned, sensitivity plays a role.

If you are particullarly more sensitive to one planet than another a hard transit would affect the individual greater than a planet that one is less sensitive to.

Nessus transits can bbring on anxiety and panic attacks.

Here's what I found on Nessus:

The awareness of our vulnerability against darkness, abuse, and emotional death. The return of karma; situations that travel circular paths, or extend with unforeseen consequences. Conspiracy with a point of origin. The healing of abuse, including insidious kind that doesn't seem like much, until one looks closely; and the kind that was obviously so, but potentially overlooked. Nessus talks about abuse patterns in the family of origin, and how they manifest psychologically in adults.

In transit:

* A connection with strong and powerful emotions, affects, passions and jealousy reveal a relation between Nessus and Pluto

* Nessus is probably the strongest Centaur among the first three, and often a "nasty" guy

* the feeling to do something "rightous" even if it's cruel (assassins or intruders often think so) and in the worst case an absolute unhuman, blind fanatism

* to be forced to deep and sudden (this is non-Plutonian!) transformation by intense and sudden shock and pain

* the boomerang-effect: bad actions done in the past, catch us up (some karma-circle)

* a clear tendency to over-react, to crack up, to have hysterics, to run amok, to explode emotionally, because someone hits/hurts you at the very nerve. For a moment you feel hot and not like yourself.

* Panic attacks (as a result of anxiety against deep affects)

* the theme-complex of intrigue and conspiracy: treachery, trick, to take advantage of other's weakness. Revenge, lie and falsehood

* Nessus joins us with occult primordial forces and energies, which go far beyond our mental, conscious and intellectual capacity for understanding. Therefore we first experience fear until we understand it later.

* the border(-line) to madness. See for example movies like "Mad Max", "Lethal Weapon", "Die Hard", where brute force in combination to super-natural self-control with madness is shown (there is also a relation to Asbolus I think).

* to overcome anxiety and force with the mean of nearly super-natural will, strength and braveness

* there seem to be some relation between Nessus and longterm skin deseases: nettle rash, strong itching, pain, burning of the skin, high sensitivity against sunrays, pustules, growth (often connected with troubles in relationships) and allergies

* Nessus opens us the gate into Hades, the death and Pluto's underworld, towards the shadow-world of ghosts and lost souls.
But it also reveals the other, light and good side of the so-called "evil". It's only a denied and repressed, undissolved, "dark" shadow-like energy of the soul, which needs to be re-integrated into our personality to be complete and healthy/authentic (this shows us the closeness of Nessus to Pluto).

* There is an obvious parallel between Nessus and the fairy man Charon. Therefore I think Nessus is a leader and guide to hidden and deep energies of regeneration and rebirth and therefore Pluto's helper or preparer in this way and process.

* Nessus in a chart brings up old issues of grief and loss thought to be buried long ago,
which erupt in a monstrous or poisonous way... Nessus is the pitchblack face of Pluto made manifest through Saturn. The final outcome is gaining immortality."

Would the transiting Sun/Venus Square natal Pluto bring on anxiety? Cause I'm going through some really bad anxiety at the moment and I'm having a bunch of insecurity issues coming up....could be over being abandoned as a child left overs...

I have anxiety ...Im a virgo....
I also think its a libra trait as well...I have libra influence in my chart, and Its something ive observed with others...the inability to pick, and to weigh everything before deciding causes a lot of anxiety for Libras...they have difficulty with decisions.

Substance abuse is a Pisces influence trait.

I'm a triple pisces (sun, merc, venus) and have never had a substance abuse problem, never smoked, never did any drugs (I don't understand why anyone needs drugs) and rarely drink -- however I am very creative.

I know people who have no planets in pisces who are lushes and or drug users. So I'm not so sure about the Pisces thing. However the Neptune/Uranus combo seems to always do the trick.

Virgo is a definate indicator of anxiety. I have a virgo moon and boy do I feel it. Planets in the 6H can apparently indicate anxiety, but it also depends on who rules that house. Neptune in the 6H can indicate anxiety; it indicates extreme sensitivity to the environment. Mars square or opposite Uranus indicates anxiety as it creates tension in the person's energy and how it is directed.

Unfortunately I have all of these things, including a stellium between saturn, uranus and Neptune in my 6H, all forming a T-square with Mars (10H) and Venus (4H). And I checked out Nessus; it's in Virgo... No surprise there! I suffer from GAD (Generalized anxiety disorder) and a form of social phobia. I'm currently trying different medications but it isn't really working, I'll have to take up yoga
