Hey all, do you guys think it is safe to say that planet ruler aspects are important in synastry? Like for example, I am a Gemini so therefore aspects to my natal Mercury placement become more important to me than they would to someone ruled by Venus, or Neptune, etc. Thus making me more sensitive to Mercurial aspects in synastries.

I'm not saying they become most important of all aspects, but we should take extra care in looking at aspects to our ruling planets in synastries. Like, Caps would benefit from strong positive aspects to their natal Saturn placement.

I mean, all placements in our charts are important but synastry aspects to our rulers should be given much importance, probably as much importance as Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars.

Do you guys think its safe to say this?

------------------
Virgo Asc & Mars
Gemini Sun
Libra Moon (conjunct Pluto 0º in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury
Cancer Venus

I definitely think one should look at the houserulers, especially of DSC, IC, ASC, 5th and 8th house.

But lately I started considering the sign-rulers, too.
For example: I have Sun, Mercury, Mars, NN and ASC in Sagittarius, and I definitely am drawn to people I share Jupiter-aspects with.
Jupiter-aspects as well as Mercury-aspects (my DSC-ruler) feel much more personal to me than they do to other people I think.

The reason I say this is because I have
noticed that 95% of the people I know that I am close to ALL have harmonious mercury connections to my Mercury. There is only one person that I am close to that has a sign opposition (but not in aspect) to my mercury. When I thought about it, I had to look at all our charts and was like wow! That is coooool! I guess since both my Sun and Mercury are conjunct in Gemini, It makes me even more sensitive to mercurial aspects.

Virgo Asc & Mars
Gemini Sun
Libra Moon (conjunct Pluto 0º in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury
Cancer Venus

Got Gemini,

my Mercury is also conjunct my Sun, but in Sagittarius with Mercury being my DSC-ruler, and it is ridiculous HOW many (positive) aspects there are in my synastries. Interestingly often to the other person`s mercury, but then again most other persons have a strong Mercury themselves, prefereably Virgo or Gemini at an angle, and yes, Mercury in a compatible sign to mine.
In friendships it`s often Mercury in an Air-sign, while I`m more romantically drawn to Fire-Mercuries; interestingly I never known anywone with Mercury in Leo, but i have a weakness for Mercury in Aries (I have a weakness for almost everything in Aries though lol) or Mercury in Sagittarius.
For friendships it`s often a Mercury in Aquarius or Libra.

Aspects to the ruler of your Asc. are extremely important in synastry, in fact one tell tail sign of a good relationship is an aspect between the rulers of each others natal chart.

Maira,

definitely, in most cases sizzling attraction. Just picture a Venus-Mars-opposition.

But of course, maybe I`m the only one to look it, because the ruler of my 7th house is in my 1st house.

So AC/AC AC/DC and DC/DC aspects are good. Is that correct?

Inner Depth,

WOW! He seems to be exactly what you need. I bet you couldn`t help but feel attracted, and probably Pluto just intensifies this.

darkdreamer,

We met in Jan of 2007 and it wasn't an instant attraction for me. He sort of "knew" something from the start. July of last year we started to correspond via email regularly and talk on the phone. He came out to visit my daughter and I a few times. He went away in October and realized that he missed me a lot - then chased after me for almost two months trying to go out with me.

Things didn't happen till after one of his Xmas parties when he invited me out to the town he lives in. Since he lives in staff accom he paid for a room at the hotel and told me not to worry. (It has been very hard for me to even enter into a relationship cause I was so anti-relationship and quite enjoyed being successfully single. I would even brag about it too )

He asked me out the day after the party and that REALLY scared the crap out of me and now I'm very happy and content in my relationship with him.

Go the WOW synastry reading done and it wasn't too great. The name synastry is awesome! - our chemistry together is wonderful and it's like we're 2 peas in a pod.

Over the past 5 months we have both grown - I've seen him bloom alot in one area that has us both blown away......

It kinda makes sense too if you think about it. Like me for example, im Gem sun so Mercury ruled. Mercury is the planet of communication, it makes sense that I'm drawn to people that I can communicate harmoniously with.

Like a Aquarius is ruled by Uranus and Saturn, the planets of rebellion, spontineity, and maturity (amongst other things). So Aquas would naturally be drawn to people that are "different." And synastry contacts to their natal Uranus and Saturn should be highlighted.

I guess this only works if your Sun sign ruler is in good aspect with the rest of your chart.

I think this can be further modified with the addition of Moon sign rulers.

Like for example, my moon sign is in Libra, which is ruled by Venus. So now, aspects to my moon from another person's Venus are highlighted, moreso than other contacts to my moon from other planets.

I will say what I'm saying probably isnt definite for everyone, but I know its true for me. Maybe its different for each sun sign?

Virgo Asc & Mars
Gemini Sun
Libra Moon (conjunct Pluto 0º in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury
Cancer Venus

thanks darkdreamer!

I can definitely picture a mars-venus opposition, my ex-husband had a stellium in libra, all the planets were opposing my own stellium in aries... um, tht didn't end too well

I'm currently involved in a non-relationship his Uranus, ruler of the Dsc is opposed to my venus, sun and mars ( rulers of the asc, dsc, and 11th) ...magnets

I really hate magnets and rollercoaster rides these days
