I currently work in an office and it is destroying me however I can't seem to narrow down my choice of career in order to pursue something directly. I am not suited to a routine job but I am not the most driven person either so I would need to be passionate about my career to make a success of it. I am more interested in being fulfilled than in money or fame although I do want to make a living. Also I am 30 now and feel I need to make a start on a my life direction now as most people are already started by now!
Based on my chart which of the careers mentioned above do you think I should pursue and if you don't mind please share which aspects or placements indicate this?

Many thanks for your time in reading my question.

Kind Regards,
Betty

30 is O.K for a career change given the aging popluation.

Mars in Cancer happily floating in the creative 5th is going to have to behave a bit. Flicking down that list my first thought was ~ how many of those are you going to be able to make a living out of? The Air signs need to kick in and work out what is viable as a living and what is best kept as a rewarding hobby. That's no reflection on your talent, I'm thinking more economic circumstances right now and the competitive nature of some of your fields of interest.

How much studying are you going to have to do to work in some of those professions? I don't know for sure but Art Therapist I think you need a Bachelors in Art and a Masters on top. Are there plenty of jobs about in it or are they being cut back? These facts can't be ignored whatever astrology says. Check them out, it might cross some things off your list.

With that heavy 7th house action and Venus on the Descendant you have some need to reach out and touch other people with the work you do. Jupiter, ruling the MC, is exalted in Cancer, the 4th is Cancer's house. The idealism and need to do something not run of the mill is there ~ Jupiter Trine Uranus.

Somehow I can't help thinking of a Play Therapist in a children's hospital ~ keeping the kids occupied with painting, toys and so on. Something nurturing and/or charitable might be the change you need.

Thought you might say that
Wow
I'm a Libran too and they all sound like something I'd be interested in doing also.
The reason I put that link up is because I could see you astroloigcally doing any of those careers.

So... Need a bit more info, ie, have you written anything, drawn anything, done any courses? Had anything published so far?
Would any of these career options be fulfilling as hobbies?

I ask this question because I see that you have been through your Saturn return so any work that you have done up until this point will be useful information in determining what next.

You have a Sagittarius MC which says you have high ambitions regarding careers. It's placed in the 4th house which then homes in that ambition and in Cancer. Working from home would appeal, as would having children and home making... But you didn't mention this on your list lol

Your Pisces ascendant screams out I want fantasy, illusion and glamour and your Libran Sun and Moon craves beauty and creative expression.
Combined with Neptune in the 9th film making, photography would be good careers.
I can def see that you yearn to express your creativity.
Saturn and Venus in the 6th would be good for psychotherapy also.

Blue Moon didn't see your reply... I see we are thinking alike here. I find it extremely hard as an air sign to be thinking economically but it must be done to make a living!
Also Betty your double Libran influence (like me) will from time to time but a little too romantic and idealistic when it comes to mundane matters such as study but once you start the dedication of sticking to one thing and studying it you will enjoy the learning and perhaps want to try something else and something else until what you really want to do just happens.
My advice is go with what what you want to study first and be open to changing course along the way

Thank you both for replying!
I will give you both a little background on myself I do have a 1st class degree in Art and I have worked in the past in the film industry as a camera operator however I didn't enjoy the cut and thrust of the industry on the other hand I just love the cinema especially when it is art cinema. I also studied for a masters in European film studies but dropped out due to illness although the option could be available to go back and finish. I also was offered a place on a Masters Fine Art course but I deferred it by a year until I could sort my self out.
I have never had anything published but I do constantly write poetry and write stories in my head all the time I guess it's a form of very elaborate daydreaming!
As for becoming a tarot reader I have been interested in the cards since I was about 13 and have recently become more and more interested and convinced of their power as a tool for self knowledge. I have also been doing yoga now for about 4 years and I think I would enjoy teaching that but I am concerned about my ability to drum up business for myself!
I guess other artistic/creative options such as dance, music and even acting which all appeal are secondery to me and would perhaps be better as hobbies.

I know all these careers seem a bit airy-fairy but I have tried to go the conventional route and as I said previously it is killing me. It is just not for me that I do know so I'd rather stuggle to do something I loved than be comfortable doing something that makes me miserable.

I feel my 3 deepest drives are to be artistically creative, self knowledge or revealing what is hidden inside (e.g. I enjoy what is cryptic, symbolisom Jungian stuff)and my idealism. I guess an ideal career would combine all of these aspects. If money were no object my dream would be to travel staying in a city for a couple of years at a time before moving on and studying something else ... an eternal student. I would be very open to studying to Phd level should the oppertunity arise.

As for having kids well I've had an astrologer say that to me before that it would be a pity if I didn't have them and although I haven't ruled it out completley I am nowhere near ready! I feel that if I had them now before I had achived some degree of self actualization that I would resent them. I know it's not very nice but I am being honest because I am serious about figuring out what I need to do in life. However although I do love to travel I also love to stay at home and I'm not much of a party animal and I've never drank or went to a lot of night clubs, I'd rather be at home with a book!

I know I went on a bit there but hopefully some of what I said might help with your interpretations!

Betty
