This is a page I've not seen before: http://www.new-visions.com/astro/partoffortune.html My Part of Fortune is in the 4th House, conjunct the the I.C, in Pisces. I live in a two hundred year old building by flowing water, lol. But I'd hope there was more to my endeavours on Earth than these facts so I am encouraged to learn that compassion and gaining wisdom is part of my destiny ~ if I use this right. IP: Logged |

Don't bother, Dooza, get the 'net to do it for you: http://www.noendpress.com/pvachier/arabicparts/index.php But for anyone thrilled by maths (and I do know some) add the degree of the planet to the following:
Aries 0 Taurus 30 Gemini 60 Cancer 90 Leo 120 Virgo 150 Libra 180 Scorpio 210 Sagittaurius 240 Capricorn 270 Aquarius 300 Pisces 330 So my Ascendant being 13* Scorpio 44' is going to be 223.44
Being born in the day we add the Moon at 0* Libra 07' so that's nice and easy 180.07 Then take the Sun at 11* Gemini 32' which is 71.32 223.44 +180.07 = 403.51 403.51 - 71.32 = 332.19 332.19 - 330 = 2* Pisces 19' If the number is too big to subtract you can add 360 and it will all work out.

Mine is in Gemini, 6th house. The Part of Fortune in Gemini brings rewards that benefit the mind and intellect as well as stamina, travel opportunities and educational experiences that can turn into huge benefits. (Like publishing that Best Seller.) Gemini's energy allows for a quick wit and the ability to immediately utilize the genius present in any moment. Those who work with you or live near you will always be there for you in any crisis or emergency. The Part of Fortune in the Sixth House brings health, wealth and career blessings, which will give you many advantages in this lifetime. Spiritually you will be better able to understand your physical body's alignment to the intelligent forces of the universe. Through the study of Holistic Health you could contribute to the knowledge of mankind. You will learn, and perhaps teach, how to align yourself with the metaphysical laws and principles, multiplying the good of your life's experiences. The whole sixth house description is incredibly accurate!

Mine is snug between Venus and the Sun in Virgo, in the 11th house. The Part of Fortune in Virgo brings a tremendous amount of luck and success through one's ability to be upwardly mobile in the arena of job and career. The mind is often blessed with high intelligence, genius and commitment to order and harmony. The blessings received are often in career success along with health and good business. (Real Estate or a special hobby.)
The Part of Fortune in the Eleventh House brings blessings from your friends, relatives, acquaintances, and by those in high positions of power and authority in life. Your hopes, wishes and dreams will be more easily manifested, based on the understanding of the spiritual Laws of Manifestation. You are on the receiving end of life this time around, again, again, and again. Unconditional love will be innate and freely expressed from your closest and dear. IP: Logged |

Mine's at 29º Aqua in my 4th house. The formula for the PoF changes depending on whether you were born at night or during the day. Using the opposite formula (i.e., the day formula if you were born at night) gives you your Part of Spirit. My Part of Spirit is at 11º Cancer in my 9th house. quote: Practically speaking, neo-traditionalists consider [the Part of Spirit] as the indicator of the thing the native holds to be of the highest possible value. When, in the delineation of a horoscope, one is able to determine the value, concept or quality which an individual regards as the highest possible existing thing it is, in my opinion, a tremendous help in dealing with people when discerning what it is they really value on this earthly plane.
http://www.angelfire.com/wizard/regulus_antares/arabic_parts.htm My Part of Spirit forms a kite in my chart. It opposes Venus, and then sextiles Chiron and Jupiter. There is a disagreement among astrologers over whether to use a different formula for night or day births when calculating the PoF. I think most side with doing so. Astro.com automatically uses a different formula. I always identified more with the day formula even though I'm a night birth, and now that I know about the Part of Spirit, I know why. It's more incorporated in my chart (more aspects), and it does describe what I love to do and the type of activities that make my life feel expansive and fulfilling. That website I quoted from describes the PoF as an inner Asc. and that is how it feels to me. My focus isn't really on 4th house issues, but it is from a point of inner freedom (Aqua PoF in the 4th) that I feel most comfortable approaching the world. But the focus of my activity is more what my Part of Spirit (creating and learning) points toward. IP: Logged |

Thanks for this info, Jane! Although now that I've worked out my Part of Spirit, I'm not really sure how it applies to me. It's at 5 degrees Cancer in the 7th house, widely conjunct the DSC (7 degree orb) and widely conjunct Saturn (8 degree orb). It sextiles my sun, and makes a T-square as the apex point of Pluto and Jupiter. Hmm.IP: Logged |

Mine is in ARIES, in 5th House - and I really identify strongly with it, since 5th house-matters concern a person's self-expression and creativity (that's what my profession and my favourite pasttime-pleasures are about) - I feel quite self-confident and self-contained in these matters and have a STRONG longing for always "putting my very own mark" on everything I do, what's dear to my heart.BUT - There are some aspects to my P.o.FORTUNE that bring some trouble - and some aspects, I haven't "lived out" yet. First, it opposes my Jupiter in 11th in Libra exactly (orb 0) - so I tend to develop large hopes, overhwhelming visions quickly - sometimes without sufficient preparation or with too little care, I tend to act too rashly sometimes and undermine my own endeavours by that. Also, I can be quite impulse in the way I express myself - and sometimes, unwillingly, seem to "dominate" or "run over" my fiends or the people who accompany me. Which i am not always happy about, if I learn later - but some people have told me, afterwards. Hm. I am no good teamworker, I must admit - often wanna have it my way or no way and can't stand any "boss" above me with my creative pursuits. BUT: I am capable to really create something ... and sometimes I'm told that people sort of admire me for my uncompromising ways. Second "riddle" attached to my P.o.FORTUNE: It is in (wide) conjunct to my 5th-house CERES and JUNO in Taurus (orbs 4 and 6). After the classical interpretations, this stresses the emphasis on childrearing, which is also attached to the 5th house, attaining luck and happiness from your children... It's just that I have no children, not even a substantial relationship ..and I am in my late 30s already ... and I never haven been the type of woman who craved to have her own children no matter what. I mean: I would like to have children one day. But since there's not suitable partner around ... I don't make such a fuzz aorund that topic, don't care too much. I hope I don't spoil my FORTUNE by that ... ;-) IP: Logged |

Heey, I've got the same, except Aquarius instead of Pisces. So yep, I'm a complete "steady, tried, true Mother Earth figure"... Anyway: The Part of Fortune in Aquarius brings an open mind and life experience to what is unique and unusual. This is a futuristic life that you have chosen and profound wisdom is often guiding you towards your fortune and destiny. You will seem to have the Midas Touch in everything that you do and all you involve yourself in. You could be a researcher or raise funds for charity organizations, as well as develop innovative new cures in medicine. Others will seek you out, ask your advice, and when given with an open heart, you will be richly blessed again and again. Your life work could have a profound effect on life and the wellness of the planet for eons to come. Sorry, but LMAO! IP: Logged |

Hey HSC, I'm your opposite (where POF is concerned), Libra, 8th house. I even have a sextile to Jupiter. I guess this means I will benefit financially from partnerships (Libra). UN-fortunately, POF conjuncts Vindemiatrix, the Widow Maker . Thanks for nothing. I don't need this kind of fortune. IP: Logged |

Black Lily - I also have my PoF in Aqua, and I'm confused as to what's so funny about that description. Why, just as I was enjoying my morning tea I discovered the cure for cancer. Typical Monday. *shrugs, and while shrugging develops an alternative to fossil fuel*GeminiLover - Nice! Aren't Pluto-Jupiter aspects about bling? I'm not quite sure how your Part of Spirit in Cancer in the 7th would bring that...maybe you could be Bill Gates' mistress and the mother of his illegitimate children? izo - Oh izo. IP: Logged |

Jane Thank you. Needed a bit of lovin' just now . This is probably why I have ruler of the 7th in a double sign. I am against divorce (and blame the static Venus in Taurus for it). Juno is also in a double sign, and square Uranus. It's all making sense. Even 5th house cusp falls in a double sign. I think I need to forget I ever thought about this. Denial is always a better substitute. Where is Love with that antidepressant? IP: Logged |

Yes. A notorious unfortunate fixed star, in line after Algol. There is even a Part of Widowhood (Asc + 08Libra50 - Neptune -> Libra 8*50' is aproximately Vindemiatrix's position). I have Part of Widowhood conjunct my chart ruler. [edit] LOL, we typed that at the same time. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I think with that star denial and insurance are the ways to go. I know it's upsetting to find something like that in your chart. But I really don't think astrology is that literal. If that degree really was the widowmaker, it would be so easy to prove astrology's validity based on statistics of women with that degree aspected. Does anyone know what the different roots of "vindemiatrix" mean, the literal meanings? IP: Logged |

Epsilon Virginis (å Vir / å Virginis) is a star in the constellation Virgo. It also has the traditional name Vindemiatrix, which comes from Greek through Latin and means The Grape Gatherer.Vindemiatrix is a yellow giant star of apparent magnitude 2.85 and spectral class G8 III about 102 light years from Earth. It has a luminosity 83 times that of the sun with a surface temperature of 4990 kelvin. There is evidence that Vindemiatrix is part of the Hyades group, associated with the cluster of that name in the constellation Taurus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epsilon_Virginis The Grape Gatherer. How apt. One of us is going to go first so let's crack open a bottle of wine and forget about it.

blue moon - That's right! Unless couples die together, someone's left behind. And the star doesn't specify when it happens. You may be so old and senile you won't even notice. izo - I don't look at astrology as predictive about literal event. I may be missing out on a lot of information in that way, but I'm always biased toward the psychological and I'm the same way with astrology. It shows inner reactions to life. You may feel like a psychological widow after the death of a very important relationship. And a harmonious aspect with Jupiter could indicate that this "death" will benefit you and ultimately be for the best. Your double love aspects could mean that your real love will come after the one you thought was "the one," & that when it comes you will be a transformed person (Vin in the 8th) for the better (sextile Jupiter).

Pisces (2/19-3/20) The Part of Fortune in Pisces brings eons of wisdom and spiritual gain that can be transformed into the manifestation of needs by almost pure desire. You think it and so it is. A desire to help the less fortunate will give this Part of Fortune a chance to really show how the Laws of Prosperity and the power of Love really work. The Laws of Cause and Effect will be a known, innate factor in you daily living and spiritual practice, and you will follow them to the letter. The Ninth House The Part of Fortune in the Ninth House opens a door of opportunity through education, overseas or long distance travel politics, government, as well as through community involvements. Your world expands from your personal family to the family of mankind. You are likely to leave your home for education and travel at an early age. (Before twenty-one) You see life through every man and not just through your own personal experience. Blessings accrue from working with worldwide organizations, and by promoting truth, justice and fairness. You help to bring food to the hungry as well as clothing and lodging to the poor. ...I don't really have a charitable nature. IP: Logged |
