What placements in synastry or possible transits would cause a strong desire to get married? (Especially when you are, usually, a commitment-phobe.)

Uranus ~> sudden radical change
Pluto ~> slower, profound change
Neptune ~> temporary loss of reason
Saturn ~> going along with it

Despite having 4 planets in the 7th house including the Sun and Venus I can't say I've ever felt a burning desire to get married. I am though. He insisted.

I did, however, feel a strong urge to have children. Flicking back through my progressions and transits I can tell you that this occured as my progressed M.C hit my natal Moon. The progressed Moon also hit this spot around this time and we got busy at it. The progressed M.C was applying to the natal Moon in the 10th by 1 degree around the time of marriage.

Magi Astrology has plenty to say on this subject. They seem to like Chiron. At the time I got married Chiron Opposed Venus in the 7th and Saturn Conjoined Chiron in the 5th. I don't know if that spells Cinderella or Hearbreak, somewhere in the middle is more like reality (for most people).

Maybe also check out Solar Arcs and run up a Solar Return chart, you might get some interesting results.

Rather creepily, the I.C/M.C is at the same degree of the natal Vertex/Anti-Vertex on the Solar Return for the year of my marriage (adjusted for where I live at the time, Astrodienst automatically runs one from place of birth). Solar Arcs has Mars, NN and Chiron all in the 7th house. Personally I take careful note of the Nodes.

I think saturn would be my number one choice for an increased desire for committment or marriage. A saturn return or saturn/venus transit or progression. Whenever a desire is sudden - like a need for change NOW - it is likely that uranus is involved. Neptune and pluto deal with more abstract issues and could feature in some way but I would think a realization that life is not forever and we are all mortal,.,.,.goes with saturn most of all.

Thanks for the advice guys. So would you say that Saturn would be based on the composite more so than a transit? Or possible house placements in synastry? Also my mercury, mars, jupiter, uranus and pluto all fall in my boyfriends 7th house. Do you think that has anything to do with the sudden urge?

I notice that my sun is in his 8th and his moon is in my 8th. Also my natal Pluto & uranus fall in the 10th . His pluto & uranus fall in my 10th house. His natal pluto & uranus are in the 7th and as listed above, my uranus and pluto fall in his 7th. His natal saturn is in the first and my saturn falls in his first. (This is where I start to get really confused... I'm sorry if I'm confusing anyone who is reading) What I'm trying to get at in this longwinded paragraph is would the fact that we kind of criss cross each other affect my desire to want to merge with this man?
