From reading, this placement indicates luck, weight gain/fluctuations, optimism and basically being the "archetype" of Santa Claus. Near the ascendant, where mine is, it indicates a possible over-confidence.

I would like some thoughts on this placements to offer me a different perspective.

My Jupiter is in Scorpio, it is 2 degrees away from my Scorpio Asc and it is sextile my Venus. That, to me, screams over-indulgence and might it also signify laziness?

always look on the bright side of life

This placement cropped up in conversation at the end of a thread afterwards dubbed the "lazy clinic".

A bit idle, I'll confess to that ~ to save describing my chart here is Jupiter in the 1st linking in to Neptune, Saturn, the Moon, the M.C and Pluto.

Optimistic? The glass is half full, but I'm not kidding myself the other half isn't empty. I try and take a lesson out of things where I can, but I recognise sometimes things are plain unfair and unjust but you have to live with it if you can't change it. That's a real tie-in with all those planetary influences. It is hard to separate Jupiter.

Just to put my money where my mouth is as regards making the best out of aspects which aren't the best ~ it occured to me when writing about Jupiter/Neptune previously that maybe it was significant that I have a degree in philosophy. I did put effort into that, alright. I hope that is a little way to making the best of that aspect.

Thanks blue moon. The "lazy clinic" lol... I am not lazy! I just believe in smart work versus hard work.

Oh and my weight doesn't fluctate.

My size zero days are over (it was a U.K size 8 back then) but I can't say I'm crying. The childbirth belly could do with some work but my weight is O.K.

I think my Scorpio Ascendant, Jupiter in Sag in first house, sends me a message about my weight. My mother is heavy, but my father is thin. However, he has had a heart attack, her health is fine. All the fat and junk he eats has had to go somewhere. Like him I am inclined to be a TOFI (thin outside, fat inside) so I try and not go mad on the junk and fatty food. It's hard as a love of Ulster fries is in the genes.

Look at that, I've just eaten but I still fancy it:

Actually, I had a fry-up for lunch. After I ate a salad.

I think Jupiter in 1st is similar to having a sag ascendant.

One of the nicest girls I know has this, I just knew it, and had to have a look at her chart to confirm it. She's always so positive, so cheerful, for some she's overwhelming, but I like her so much. Her weight kind of fluctuates, but her asc is cap so I don't think she'll ever be a fat mamma And if she will become fat, people will like her anyway, because she always has a nice thing to say or some joke to cheer you up when you're sad
