Saturn in the eighth house of the composite chart pertains both to joint property and resources and to major personal transformations and regenerations.
You may feel very insecure about the physical resources you share. You may have fears of not having enough money, for example. However, you might conceivably have trouble with other people's money - banks, finance companies, and such. It would probably be well to avoid these if you can.
Turning to the area of regeneration symbolized by the eighth house, Saturn here can indicate that the two of you will resist the deep transformations that must take place in any relationship. The eighth house signifies very important and fundamental changes, such that your lives will not be the same as they were before.
But the two of you are likely to be afraid of such changes and will try to build up structures in your lives that will prevent change of any sort. It is not good to do this, however, because the transformations of the eighth house are very difficult to resist, and resisting them only makes them more catastrophic when they do occur.

Saturn is the great task master and teacher. Saturn located in the 8th
house indicates you may be very insecure in your relationship with
regard to money, sex, possessions and joint property. There will be a
fear of not having enough on which to get by, thus making you work
twice as hard to accumulate money and possessions, perhaps making you
wealthy in the process. But at what price? On the other hand, you may
have very real physical trouble through other people's money, banks,
finance companies, wills, inheritances, taxes and sex. The 8th house
represents deep intimacy, but Saturn placed here takes away the drive
that makes this happen.

This placement of Saturn indicates that important changes are going to
occur in your relationship, more than you could have experienced by
being single. The danger here is that you may try to resist any
changes at all because of fear. Putting all kinds of road blocks in
the way of change will only stifle any growth in your relationship
and, in the long run, be detrimental for you both. Relax and go with
the flow. The changes will probably be for the better.

How would it be different if Saturn is OPPOSITE the 8th house? (I edited that phrasing.)
And I don't mean interpretations of Saturn in the 2nd house.

It just seems that some (a lot) of what you wrote applies to Saturn OPPOSING the 8th house matters, and I always have difficulty understanding this about Saturn descriptions. I mean Saturn conjunctions (or house placements) are described exactly like Saturn oppositions.

The same goes for Saturn in natal charts, transits, etc. Saturn conjunction transits are described the same as Saturn opposition transits, but surely there is a difference, isn't there?

I hope I'm making myself clear - this thing about Saturn disturbs me ;-)

I'm replying to myself ;-)

I'd like to think that Saturn is working FOR the matters in the 8th house, not against them.

In this case (composite Saturn/8th house) all the 8th house matters are subject to Saturnian energy.

It will take time and it can mean a lot of work to build something concrete (and reach a fulfilling level of sexual intimacy), BUT, the way it always is with Saturn, once it has been done, it is permant and the rewards are there for keeps ;-)

Saturn symbolizes stability and is very important in long-term relationships.

I agree.

I have Saturn in the 8th with someone in our composite and it represents a positive connection in the relationship, not a negative one. He's older than me, an authority figure, which, if we were lovers would really show (people would probably make "May/December" jokes). The relationship has inspired me to grow WRT finances, attitudes about power and the occult. And I feel the Saturn factor indicates that ours was a fated relationship more than anything else.

Kate, you're welcome.

Lana, I don't think planets oppose houses . They exercise their influence in the house they're in. I know that Saturn seems harsh, and most of the times it brings restrictions in the house it is in, but I also think in the end, if the respective lessons are learned, it will also bring rewards.

Imodezdmozina, I guess didn't phrase it correctly - what I meant is that when a planet is in the 8t house, it's placement is opposite the 2nd house and in that way it is opposite the 2nd house matters.
